I LOVED Larry Bird. (Still do). I had a poster of him up my dad bought me when I was much younger. My parents didn't touch my room. My son tore down my poster
For Christmas this year I got a double sided laminated 8x10 of Larry with several pictures of him LOL
When he retired I stopped watching basketball. The Celtics rocked!! I met all of them but Larry one year on our Close Up trip to DC. BEST part of the whole trip LOL
I am cracking up b/c we've been back in the 80's listening to music all night. So this thread hit a funny bone
OF course I've been singing all of the songs. DH is uncool..... he didn't get to hear the 80's until he met me--- mid 90's or so. He is a decade behind LOL.

Oh, I'm gonna cry...you didn't know LARRY BIRD was a BASKETBALL PLAYER???? No? That the Celtics were the most amazing team in the WORLD back in the 80's, when it was Dennis Johnson, Robert Parrish, Danny Ainge, Kevin Kite, Kevin McHale, and LARRY????
(i feel really old)
I guess this should be on the "growing up in the 70's and EARLY 80's" thread.
