You know all the queens are evil, right? Ch. 8 - The one where we keep an ADR.

HI! Loving your TR so far!:thumbsup2 Um, the crocs? I hope you did have court those days:lmao:

Hope the snow didn't make you have to alter your plans!

When I lived in Dallas, we always wanted snow, but of course, never got any. Now I'm glad I live nowhere near snow.

A girls Disney trip sounds like great fun. :goodvibes

I'm in sounds like it will be a fun trip. I can sympathize with the clumsy party. I broke my toe last summer jumping waves down the Jersey shore with my DGS. I didn't even know that color purple existed. I tore a ligament in my foot2 weeks ago getting out of bed. I leave for Disney in less than 2 months so
i'm hoping it will have healed by then.

Howdy! GB sent me over, and I'm so glad he did! This is good, good stuff. You know how to bring the funny. :thumbsup2

Donna Sue is a third type. She packs like no one else I’ve ever met.
:rolleyes1 Um, you just met another. :rotfl: I totally do that - piles for weeks, constantly getting edited as plans and/or weather forecasts change.

And I told Donna Sue that it wouldn’t snow. Repeatedly. Vociferously. Adamantly.

And it didn’t snow, either.

Not until very early Thursday morning. :headache:
D'OH! :headache:

Loving your TR so far and 1 photo size bigger would be great, I'm nosy and want to see everything :rotfl:

Yep. As an only child, it came as quite a shock to me to have not only a kid, but instant sibling rivalries... ;)

I hope that didn't sound like a stupid question, but I know someone whose adoption went through right around the time she got pregnant. She now has two sons who are 6 months apart. She gets a lot of

Now, see, I'm thinking you may be my long-lost twin... :rotfl:

Hello twin! :rotfl2:

My aunt & uncle were/are (she's retired, he's not) professors at A&M. Did you go?

Yep, class of 90, poli sci, econ minor. What did/do they teach?

Looks good to me!

Cool! I'll try one size bigger next time, let me know if it is too big!

How can I not follow this TR since I got an honorable mention. :goodvibes

I am still in shock it actually snow in Texas. That day you had snow, I was on my way to Hartford, CT for a business trip after a foot and a half blizzard from the night before.

Sorry to hear about your toe incident. I can only imagine how painful that was.

It was your pictures that sold us on the Wilderness Lodge!

I was shocked about the snow too.:rotfl: I don't miss the kind of snow you get up there. Were you flying or driving?

Thanks - at least it feels better now, although it still looks pretty funny!

I'm sending a shout. I'm in.:thumbsup2

:welcome: Glad you're here! I can't even tell you how exciting it is to come see that people posted on my TR. :goodvibes

Hi elizabeth
Just found your trip report
So sorry about your toe, i have broken my little toes-not once but twice
once while living in Austin but that another story.
And once while actually at WDW(DS fell and somehow landed on my little toe)
and this was on our first day.
Anyway love all the music references
can't wait for more

The same toe or each toe once? Actually breaking it at WDW :scared1: I hope you had comfy shoes! Ouch!

Ouch about the toe, I am clumsy too. It was so great you got to go to WDW with your friend. If I lived in Dallas I would have been in denial about the snow too.

My opinion about the pictures, I like them one photobucket size bigger, I have old eyes :rotfl:.

Great report, can't wait to read more :thumbsup2.

I always say, meteorologist is the only job I know where you can be wrong half the time and still keep your job. We were supposed to get 1-3 more inches last week. Not even a flurry. Today it is 70 degrees I think! :cool1:

I'm going to try the pictures one size bigger next time and see how that goes for everyone.

Actually I work for a court. So I was good. Although one day in the lunchroom I asked someone if they would change the water because my toe was broken, explaining that was why I was wearing crocs. Another attorney looked down and said, "we thought you were just being eccentric." :rotfl2:

When I lived in Dallas, we always wanted snow, but of course, never got any. Now I'm glad I live nowhere near snow.

A girls Disney trip sounds like great fun. :goodvibes

Snow is more fun when it only shows up once every few years! Or when you're a little kid. When did you live in Dallas?

I'm here but I'll have to go back and read to get caught up.

Va-va-va-voom! Glad to see you!

Right? That was a weird color and it took forever to go away. Hope your foot heals quickly! (At first I wrote "heels quickly." :rotfl:)

Howdy! GB sent me over, and I'm so glad he did! This is good, good stuff. You know how to bring the funny. :thumbsup2

Thanks for coming over! Okay, you're weird too. :rotfl: I think the thing that would bug me (besides not remembering what's in the piles) is having to put away all the stuff I decide not to take.

Loving your TR so far and 1 photo size bigger would be great, I'm nosy and want to see everything :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Me too, I like to look at the little details in the background of other people's pics. :welcome:

The other Un BRIT checking in!!!:lmao:

Y'all aren't going to start making me write "colour" and "favourite" are you? Or call fries chips and chips crisps? :rotfl2:

I just wanted to thank everyone again for reading and posting! It has really made my day! I'm not on the computer much on the weekends, but I should have the next installment up Monday. We might actually even make it to WDW in the next chapter. :lmao:

Y'all aren't going to start making me write "colour" and "favourite" are you? Or call fries chips and chips crisps? :rotfl2:

They won't make you, but you'll find yourself doing it anyway. :rolleyes1 All of us who know them now tend to write "whilst" and "hoovering" a lot. :rotfl2:

*****************************************************
That's interesting about your friend! When mine were babies, it was all "Oh, are they twins?" Now, (they are not identical at all, and are about 2 inches apart in height) I get a lot of "How far apart in age are they?" and no one expects the "4 minutes" answer. :rotfl2:

Can't wait for more! :goodvibes

Wonderful start! I can't wait for more. I'm going to look in the background of all your pictures hoping to spot us.

I make a list and pack for the list.:thumbsup2 I love marking things off. I also refer back to that list to help start a new list for the next trip. I guess I should do like you and put it on the computer.

Great start...The weather has been nuts everywhere. Looks like you had fun in the snow.

Y'all aren't going to start making me write "colour" and "favourite" are you? Or call fries chips and chips crisps? :rotfl2:
Of course :rotfl2: Don't worry I spend so much time chatting and working with Americans that it's my second language :rotfl:

They won't make you, but you'll find yourself doing it anyway. :rolleyes1 All of us who know them now tend to write "whilst" and "hoovering" a lot. :rotfl2:
I love it when you all write whilst :goodvibes

I couldn't even tell you where my vacuum cleaner is so the "hoovering" I won't have to worry about unless I am talking about chowing down on some dinner. :thumbsup2

The computer master list was well worth the initial set up. Highly recommended.

DH and I always have a lot of fun together. :goodvibes

Of course :rotfl2: Don't worry I spend so much time chatting and working with Americans that it's my second language :rotfl:

I love it when you all write whilst :goodvibes

Whilst, whilst, whilst! Harder than it seems. My fingers just don't want to go that way. :lmao:

I'm saying it now too! :rotfl:

I'm pretty sure I would trip over my tongue if I actually tried to say "whilst" in a sentence. Although I did just start reading Wuthering Heights last night (no, I never had to read it in school) so maybe I'll pick up some fun phrases.

Working on next installment now!

Okay, so when we left off we were playing in the snow on Thursday night and I was about half-packed for a Saturday departure.

Friday morning I was having a dream that I was watching Sports Center and then I realized it was my alarm, and then I realized it wasn’t my alarm, it was my phone. Funny how your brain can do all that in the space of 15 seconds. (My ring tone is the Monday Night Football theme, hence the sports center I suppose). It was 6 a.m. so I put on my best “I’m awake” voice and answered, learning that YES! My office was to be closed all day. Woo-hoo! :cool1: That has to be the best thing ever, to get a free day off at the beginning of your vacation.

When I got up, I finished all my packing before Tony (DH) got home from work and picked up wine to go with our dinner (the streets were actually fine by noon or so). We had planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday night because I would be out of town on the actual day. And last year, which was the first Valentine’s Day we were married, he managed to forget entirely. He won’t make that mistake again. :lmao: For some reason I was in the mood for NY pizza (plus, that would save us time from either going to a fancy place or cooking at home) so we had pizza and a nice chianti. No fava beans though. Then we had champagne (Veuve Clicquot, my favorite) and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert and watched the opening ceremonies for the Olympics.

Now, I knew I would have to get up early the next day but my “start time” kept getting pushed earlier and earlier. See, I had originally scheduled a 7:30 flight to Orlando, direct from DFW. Cheap and easy and it’s the one my husband and I took this past summer. Then the airline decided to change that flight from 7:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Donna paid for a car service to take us to the airport as neither of us really wanted to deal with Tony at 5-something a.m. To say he is not a morning person is an understatement, so even though he offered, we decided to take the town car. It’s one that Donna uses frequently.

The plan was that the guy would pick her up first at around 5:15 and then they would come get me. But about 9 pm, Donna called with two changes. First, the roads were going to be bad in the morning so the driver wanted to do the pick up at 5 instead of 5:15. I tried to tell her that the roads wouldn’t be bad, but given that I had insisted it wouldn’t snow two days prior, she didn’t believe me. :headache: Imagine that? :rotfl2: Anyway, it was really the car driver’s decision. They were predicting freezing fog, which doesn’t even make any sense. If the fog was frozen you wouldn’t be able to walk through it would you? :confused3

The more worrying issue was that he decided he wanted to pick me up first because she is closer to the highway. This is true, and makes perfect sense except that our condo is really hard to find. The best way I can describe it is to tell you that I live on a dead-end road where the dead-end is two-thirds of the way down the road, and I live on the other side of it. There’s a wall, and most people don’t know that if you go around the block you can continue on down that same street. Donna assured me that the guy lived close by and knew exactly where I was and would be there at 5 a.m. on the dot. I made sure to get a good description of the driver from her since I hadn’t met him before. It wasn’t until after we hung up that I realized not many men in a nice uniform and a town car would be likely to ring doorbells at 5 a.m. looking for a house to rob.

With that we finished watching the opening ceremonies and went to bed...it was probably around 11:30. I was a little nervous about whether I would get up on time but laid out my clothes and set the alarm for 4:40 (wanting every second of sleep I could get).

Next: would I oversleep? Would the driver show up? Would the plane show up, for that matter, or would it be stopped by frozen fog?

Oh, and, hopefully, pictures!

Well....

I was reading this TR til I got to the TEXAS A&M croc part and feel I now must boycott this TR on general purpose as I bleed burnt orange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I guess I can make an exception. Afterall, we've got several months til Thanksgiving week!

:lmao:

Great start E! I laughed out loud and cringed at your description of your toe break. YOWCH!!! And don't ya love a man who chimes in with the oh so helpful reminder that he hadn't moved the furniture so there's no excuse for you running into it!

Snow in downtown Dallas?! Who knew! We actually had some down here in Austin. That's when you know the world is ending. :rotfl:

Can't wait to find out if the driver found your condo!!
