I had a lot of items end last Thursday, January 15th. Many have paid already but three REALLY big ticket items have not paid yet. Is it ok to send them a reminder today which would be three days? Or is this rude. I checked their feedback and all have positives with many saying super fast payment. I really am getting nervous cause there is a lot of $ involved. What do you think?

Thanks so much to everyone for the help with the APO issue! The bidder was very nice about it but thought that I could do DC from the USPS online label maker. Tried that and still couldn't do it so mailed it from the Post Office with insurance and she was very happy in the end. At least I think she was.

Now a new problem. We sold 25 things last week so I guess there were bound to be problems, some things were easy enough to take care of but now we have a non paying bidder. It's only $7.99 but we've heard NOTHING from this person. He has good feedback but we've sent the original invoice - nothing, the reminder - nothing, and now an email asking him to let us know how he plans to pay and if he's sent payment already (very nice email by the way) - nothing. So he has technically until Tuesday based on my auction as I said payment due within 10 days. What do I do at that point? Do you just give him a negative? Do you leave nothing? How does the NPB work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Do you have anything stated in the auction about having the buyer contact you within three days? A lot of people to that along with a receive payment by deadline. If so, I would start the NPB. If not, I think you should wait until the alloted ten days are up and then start the npb. When you start the NPB, the buyer will receive an email from Ebay which might jumpstart them. I guess if they've just sent you payment in good faith and it hasn't arrived yet, it might make them angry if the ten days hasn't passed.

I think it's common for people to use the Ebay reminder in this situation. Isn't that the purpose? I am assuming you already did the Ebay invoice. If not, I would start with that.

Quick question for anyone... The person who won the bid for the disney pass still has yet to contact me in over a week.. again I specifically stated in auction that I requested payment within 7 days and they have never contacted me to even say payment is on the way or anything.. I sent an invoice, a reminder and a personal email and still no response.. so at this point I am not going to bother with them and I want to sell this item.. I notice the second chance option.. It says that they will not charge for insertion fees, but they will charge a final value fee... I was already charged a final value fee when the other person won the bid.. so if I put it back into second chance will they credit me the original final value fee?? This is the first one and I guess Im just confused what I should be doing at this point..

Ok after posting a minute ago I ran into the NBP and I filled it out and sent it.. So I assume thats where I need to start.... At what point do I wait before either relisting or doing the second chance thing?? And also since I have done the NPB.. at what point do I request my Final Value fee back?? Since this person has yet to respond to anything I have sent them and this was their first win, I assume they will also not respond to this.. so I am pretty confident that I need to get it back out there.. which I think is probably a good thing, because at least now I have feeback listed..

Thanks for all your help..

Thanks to all of you who have posted here I finally worked up the courage to list on ebay. And today ... my first item listed SOLD!! I'm so excited.

Now comes the question though. On the invoice that was sent to my buyer it says that they can pay by money order and then lists my address. Problem is - it's my old address. Prior to listing I did go in and update all my contact information. I just doubled checked it and it is showing my new address. Is there another place I need to look at to fix my address? I just can't find anything else.

Thanks for your help!

I can only be partially helpful in your question. My answer is that I think there must be and the reason I say this is that I encountered that error with a buyer of mine. That is, her address was different in the Ebay email than what she put on the money order sent to me. So I questioned her. She was so thankful because she was missing two purchased items and now had a 'possible reason'. I know that she emailed Ebay about the discrepancy. (She, too, had her updated address on file.). However, she did not tell me the answer. So perhaps you should email ebay, or go through the help. However, I have not been able to get the ebay help screen to work for me in weeks (the one where you write in questions). Anyone else having that problem also?

OK guys - I have to be a little stupid here. I have not ever reported anyone - how would I go about this? Give me a heads up on this one. Is it this area?

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/investigates.html#feedback

I did email them last night questioning what they were not happy with - I know the bows were not bent, the glass was not scratched - there isn't a whole lot left!!! I did not polish the metal bows- that is up to the customer - some people would like them a little more 'authentic'.

Bettyann29 - here is a link to the page I have on my favs -

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/npb.html

OK - Next problem - when I attempt to contact them regarding the feedback it keeps telling me I am not set up to accept cookies (which I am). I changed it to low, etc and still same message. Can anyone get to the page I need to be & give me a link so I can just complete the form?

Hi everyone,

I've been reading this thread for quite awhile now, but haven't had to post a question yet. Well, I have a couple of them now so please bear with me...;)

I had a NIB cell phone that sold for a tidy sum. I sent an invoice a couple of hours after the auction ended (1/14). Haven't heard anything from the winner. So I sent a reminder on 1/17 (three days later), and tried to send an email from my AOL addy and it wouldn't go through to this person's email.

How long do I need to wait before I file a NPB on this person? I didn't have anything in my auction about payment within 3,7,10 days etc.(last time I'll let that happen)

Where do I go to find the link or such for NPB?

I checked his feedback today while I was looking for info on this, and he has a 0 feedback, so I thought "Ok, new to Ebay". Nope, he has 2 pos/2 negs and the negs are "no response, waste of time" and "didn't respond to emails, failed to complete purchase."

UGH. Please help me...

pj - just click on the link I posted for Bettyann29 right up above here. It kind of walks you through the steps and the time-frame.

Good luck!

PS - somehow, by taking a very scenic route I was finally able to email Ebay about this person. I doubt I will get anywhere but anything is worth a shot.

I finally found the area to change my address (from my above post). I couldn't tell you how I found it though. It was a matter of clicking onevry link I could find and then finally I found the right one. Whew! Good news my buyer paid via Paypal so I don't have to worry about the mail.

Do you all keep hard copy (paper) records of your listings, sales, payments and all? I'm a keeper, okay maybe a pack rat is more like it but I'm trying real hard to change my ways. Is there anything I should be printing out and keeping?

Thanks for your advice!

Belle0101~

You can do any account maintenance within account & preference tab on your "My eBay" section. Click on the tab & you will see everything there. If you change your address & you have a Paypal account, it's best to go through the confirmation process again with them. If you buy a big ticket item with a Paypal only seller, they may refuse you due to unconfirmed address.

I accept Paypal only for a couple of reasons. # 1- It's quick and easy. Faster pay= faster shipping. If a customer really wants to pay by Money order, they will email me & I can decide whether to accept based on feedback. #2 - Paypal maintains a history of all transactions you process through them. No need for paper records. I do print a copy of payment detail & staple my USPS receipts for that post office run to them. If I need to look something up, it's all there. I use turbo lister, so if if I want to duplicate a listing it's easy. Everything is saved within the program.

Well, only 2 of 9 items sold.

However, I did just receive an email on my set of books and they said they missed them and would I either sell outright or relist for them. I emailed and said if they were definitely going to buy I would relist and put a BIN on there for a few cents more (to pay the BIN fee). Have not heard back from them yet. Hopefully by morning.

I did offer (and I got to thinking about it afterwards - maybe this wasn't legal) the winner of one auction the opportunity to include some of the other Polly's at a VERY reduced price. I told her when I would be relisting them in a bulk lot and said if she wanted to add any to her order I would give her first chance. Otherwise, Tuesday nite they will get bundled together and I'll give it another shot with only one listing fee and a low starting price.

Lots of views so far on my American Girl stuff but no BIN's. :( :( :( I set my price very comparable to the one that had already sold some of the same at BIN. If no luck, I will just hide away until Holidays and I'm sure they will fly then.

You can sell it to them direct and not have to deal with ebay at all, that is what I would do/have done.

I printed out a mailing label from shipping assistant and clicked that I would mail it on Saturday. Well, when I got to the post office on Saturday the line was back to the door (30-40 people)!!! So I turned around and went back home. Can I still use this label or do I print another one?? It is already securely taped to the package and I will have to repackage it if I have to change labels.

Maggie:

Here is the answer (sort of) from the USPS website:

Q. What if I print a label and don't use it on the day I've indicated?
A. The USPS is expecting to see your package on the day you selected. An electronic record is generated on that date indicating that your package has been mailed. When creating an online label, you are responsible for providing accurate information when selecting the mailing date.

My interpretation is that you can use it, but they discourage it because it will be giving the recipient false information regarding the status of the package.

HTH,

Dan.

Hi all! I've been lurking for some time & wanted to say THANKS to all of you - you got me started selling some things on ebay! :) I've mostly stuck with clothes & books - things that fit easily inside a standard priority box or padded envelope. But now I am very motivated to make more money (I want to fly rather than drive to Disney this May - DH says I need to come up with the $$) SO, I'd like to sell other things around the house, but I'm kind of apprehensive about doing so - how do you ship large items or any sort of "weird shape" item or fragile item??? I don't have any boxes around the house except for priority boxes. I actually went ahead and listed a 2 ft. Bratz doll this week, but now I'm afraid someone will actually buy it!! How do you ship things like that?

Sorry for the "dumb" shipping questions. What is an acceptable way to package something? I'm assuming just wrapping in brown paper would be a no-no? Do you have to go out hunting for special size boxes for your items?

Thanks! Keep up the good work!

How are everyones sales doing this week? I had Wonderful sales last week, made enough for a 5 day PHP ticket but so far this week NOTHING! I have opening bids on 3 of 25 things, but not even alot of looks. Is it because of the holiday weekend or what? Someone reassure me that I will be able pay for our trip in Dec!!! I hope for GREEN I hope for GREEN I hope for GREEN I hope for GREEN!!! Sandy::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo
