Yikes - I just had an auction end with a buyer that has a -2 feedback rating. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Does anyone know the breakdown for Insurance from USPS. I looked through their site and can't find the answer. How much would it be to insure something for $400.00.

Thanks,

Martha

Perhaps a dumb question - will the PO be closed Monday 1/19 for MLK day? I'm thinking yes, but anyone know for sure? TIA!

Thanks for the tip.. I just sent it.. Hope that works.. if not, I guess I'll have to repost it..

Just an update on my camera saga... I mailed it off the other day to a kodak camera place to have it looked at.. They called me today and it will cost $468 to have it fixed!! The camera only cost me a little over $400 brand new.. They said that there was a small part broke in the lens, but kodak doesnt sell just that part so they have to replace the entire lens.. I researched a little tonight and went to best buy, comp usa and circuit city.. come to find out that model has now been discontinued and the only one who had one in stock was best buy and they wanted $350.... The guy at circuit city told me to try ebay!! so I just bid on one and won it for $271!! Much better than $468... I wanted the exact same one because I really like it and wanted to stay with something I knew.. So there goes my ebay profit money that Ive made so far, but I figured that I needed to get one otherwise I cant sell anymore of the great stuff I have..

Sorry the repair bill was so high Bettyann, but it's good news that you found a replacement for about 1/2 the price.

Now another question,

If I use my Paypal Credit Card to pay over the phone for something...i.e. my deposit on my vacation rental, will I get the 1.5% back or does it actually have to be swiped by someone?

Thanks,

Martha

You should get the cash back anytime you use the card, wether it's in person, by phone or online.

I ended up with $202 for car repairs the other day also.....It gets really depressing!

Another question...Need opinions on how to package and ship 2 framed art pitures? They are going to 2 seperate people. The size of both is 18" x 22". TIA

One suggestion. If you get boxes from USPS Priority Mail, the box that the #7 boxes come in would be the right size.

Thank you everyone on your fast replies about my question on the customs form! I'm going to tell the bidder that I can't lie on a federal form. More bidders have now asked me to put down it's a gift on the form!

I was just wondering what would happen if the seller put down it's a gift and the item was damaged? How would the bidder prove the value? The post office always wants a receipt and the one time I needed to send a bidder a receipt I sent them the Ebay receipt to prove that is what they paid. If the Ebay seller marks it a gift what receipt would the bidder use?

I'm asking because I want to know if it's correct to tell my bidders that it won't help to put down it's a gift since they want the items insured. If it's marked a gift the value of the items could not be shown. Am I correct in my thinking? Thanks again for any help!

Can you even insure things mailed to another country. I'm thinking that you can't. I have sent things overseas and just written a basic description like "toy" maybe you could do that. I guess they still would have to go thru the customs thing.

You can infact insure overseas packages but the cost is much more to do so. I had insured a bedding set that was going to the Netherlands total cost (ending bid) under $10 and the insurance was about $2.50 or so.

What in the world was our thread doing all the way at the bottom of the board! That's just wrong!:teeth:

Has Joy & Doris left yet? I wanted to wish them a safe trip.

It looks like my stuff is going to go pretty good this week. Ebay pulled one of my auctions though. It seems I had some hazardous material up for auction and didn't know it.:teeth: I was advised to call the fire department to learn how to dispose of it. So, what's been going on with you all?:hyper:

What in the world were you trying to sell?!? LOL

Hi Jenifer and everybody else!

Doris left last Tuesday, and I think she'll be back sometime next week.

I leave tomorrow night - plane takes off at 7:30... 3 hour direct flight!!!
:jumping1:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I have been going nuts at work getting ready to be on vacation for a week, though I've felt like I was missing something with no auctions going! Ahhhh. A true vacation.

We've had record lows in the northeast and I woke up to -12 F and frozen pipes this morning! Thank goodness it's going back up to normal temps tomorrow! We have someone here at the house while we're gone, but I would much rather know that daytime temps are closer to the 20's!

Jenifer, what in the world was hazardous?!?!? Would you mind sharing? Those must be some pretty interesting auctions you've been going to! ;)

Well, off to dance around some more!!!! We're not even packed, yet, but we always bring so darn much stuff we thought maybe waiting would help us put less in the suitcase! ;)
:hyper: :cool1: :cool2: :3dglasses :wave2:

I need a little help with an item.
I just sold one of my auctions , the buyer used BIN.
They paid with paypal.
Now the problem is...
They are new to ebay 0 feedback and just signed up today.
The paypal payment is unverified and is being sent to a different name other than the person who bought it.
They send an email that says they sent payment but it is unverified because it is being sent to her daughter because she is not around in the day to get it.
The auction with shipping is 156.00 so I am a little concerned.
I don't know if I should just cross my fingers and hope this person is honest or should I check it another way???
Any help??:scratchin
