You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY!!

Last week I was getting a lot more hits than I am this week. I think by Sunday night I had over 700 hits on my dozen items. This week it seems to be going much slower. That being said, I didn't have many bids until the last minute and it was very exciting. I guess many people are the same as me, I put things in my watch category and see how the bidding goes prior to deciding to bid or not near the end of the auction.

The difference is that now I know how this makes the sellers suffer!

i have been reading this thread since i joined last week- i have been dabbling in Ebay for almost 3 years now, i usally buy way more than i sell, but after reading all this great stuff on here, and starting my own WDW budget, i plan to sell quite often..and it does'nt hurt one bit that we have tons and tons a stuff that has just been sitting around collecting dust for years LOL
but i wanted to ask on here.....if it is not considered rude or out of place......if anyone will be willing to share jsut how much they have made from ebay for your trips? i would really like to make enough to pay for our hotel room.....which is going to ( hopefully) be around $600 total- knock on wood!.
has anyone had that good of luck?
i dont have big ticket items or highly collectable stuff.....so i will counting on selling the small stuff......some peoples trash is anothers treasure egh?

thanks so much.....i am REALLY enjoying this mesage forum!

Hi everyone,

I am in the same boat as all of you. Sales are down for sure. However, I have 3 bids and each of them are for holiday gowns that I've only worn once. They are all full length and one of them has a full skirt. Can anyone suggest the safest way to package and ship these dresses. I want to ensure they arrive safely and not wrinkled.

Thanks,

Martha

Hi, guys!

I'm hoping someone can help me. How do you get your money from PayPal when your winning bidder pays with PayPal?

I've signed into my PayPal account and it says my balance is $0.00

I received my confirmation from eBay that the buyer paid and I clicked on the link in the email to fill out the registration form to claim my money. Nothing happens. It still shows my account as $0.00 on PayPal.

What am I doing wrong? I so totally do not understand how to get money from PayPal.

I'm only used to paying with PayPal!LOL

Thanks,
Darlene

Try to go back to the Paypal page that show the payment and see if there is a button that says 'accept'. Sometimes this happens to me and is is usually a wife or husband using each other's account.

Hopefully that is all that it is.

Sorry, I should have also put that you need to click on the 'accept' button to accept the payment into your account.

Hi, all! Hope everyone is doing well!

I have a question/problem.

A buyer just received a lot of items that I had up for auction. It was for Blue Clues lot it included 2 VHS tapes, 2 CD Rom Game and 1 Blues Clues stuffed dog.

She is stating that the Dog isn't as described. It did have some dog hair on it and a little dirt (i did forget to mention that), but did list it as Good Shape not great or excellent. The lot went for $6.50. How much is reasonable to offer as a refund and should I ask her to send it back?

I am figuring if you divide the lot of 5 into the $6.50 it only comes to $1.30. Not much when you look at it. So I am confused.

I could offer a refund for the items if she returns them and if I do that should I offer a refund on the shipping? Or, should I give her some of the money back and if so, how much is fair, if she is going to keep the dog, it is a working toy. I didn't think that the little bit of dog hair or dirt was that bad. I thought that it was barely noticable, but who knows. I would like to work with her on this, but she really didn't pay that much per item.

Help what should I do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would make my own garment bag out of a trashbag first. Use a dry cleaner hanger (or another one as long as it is padded or covered) some poeple don't like wire hangers. (I personally don't care.. but the covered ones from a dry cleaners would work)

Then I would fold the gown in half to fit into a box.. a copy box (try your local Kinko's for FREE boxes)and then seal it up.

Thanks for the quick response, but I don't see anything on the PayPal page to accept.

All it shows is recent activity - no activity.

Now, I'm supposed to ship this item out tomorrow, but I don't know how I'll be paid for it.

Oh, well :(

The way everything else in my life has been going, I don't know why I was expecting this to be any easier.

My husband sold something on eBay last year but he requested money order only as the payment. I was thinking that if I offered PayPal I'd get more people interested in bidding on an item. Guess I'll just start requesting money orders also.

Once again, thanks for the help.

I would first ask her what exactly is wrong or not as described. It may just be that she did not read your description properly. Did you have a picture of it in your listing? Once you find out what the problem is, I would go from there. Since the cost of her sending it back woud likely cost as much or (more then likely) the cost of any refund and as you have admitted you did forget to mention the dog hair and dirt I would offer the refund of the cost of the item ($1.30) and let her keep the dog.

Darlene did you get the email from ebay or paypal. If you got an email from paypal saying something like "you have an instant payment", then the buyer paid you, but if you got an end of auction notice from ebay saying the buyer purchased the item, that means that she won the item. Only if paypal sends you the email does it mean that you got a payment. Hope this makes sense. In other words, you'll only get paid in your paypal account when paypal sends you the notice that the buyer paid. Ebay only sends the invoice telling you that the item was sold, but has nothing to do with you getting paid. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

This may be a stupid question, but...

When you ship with the delivery confirmation, do you receive something back from the post office or are we required to go online and check?

Thanks.

Actually, the email came from the winning bidder.

It reads: You've got cash!

this email confirms that you have received an Auction Instant Purchase Payment for $xxx USD from XXXXX (mailto:XXXXXX)

then it gives me a link to click on at https://www.paypal.com/us/links/uni/email..........

I assumed that this was from PayPal. I do notice that in my profile info PayPal has my address showing it is in the UK. However, I'm in the good ole US of A. I wonder if this could be part of the problem?

On the PayPal website for my account it says:
Status: UK-Verified

Denise, thanks for your help. Hopefully, I'll get paid for this.

If not, I will definately only accept money orders on any future items I decide to list.

You can receive something back but it cost more then normal DC. If you want to see that something is received then you need to check either on line or through the shipping assistant download.

Is the account you are logging into the same account that the email was sent to? If you are using a different email address then you do for your normal paypal account this could be why it is not showing up in your account.

Forgot to add personally I would not mail the item until you get paid.

Thanks, disneychrista :Pinkbounc

That was it. I was using yahoo for eBay and hotmail for PayPal. I was trying to not clog up my inboxes but I think I would rather get paid and worry about overloaded inboxes later!!

Extremely happy now:Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Oh..I wonder if you recently bought something from me LOL! I had someone who's addy showed in the UK, but she explained she was form the US. Makes it confusing when figuring shipping costs for the end of auction note.
Have you checked your profile on eBay to see what it says?

I had an auction end 11/2. The buyer replied to the invoice that a money order/cashier's check would be sent shortly. On 11/10 I sent the buyer a payment reminder. As of today I still have not heard from the buyer or received payment. I just looked at the feedback rating for this person and there are 8 complaints this month for non-payment and no communication.

I've sent her another email requesting contact or payment be made within 7 days or I will post negative feedback and file NPB alert. Did I follow protocol? How long would you wait? She was not the only bidder. When can I offer the 2nd chance to the next highest bidder? TIA.

What next? I just checked up on this buyer again and the Feedback Summary now states Not a Registered User. I didn't leave feedback or a file NPB alert. What is my next step?

To file a NPB and request your fees. I am not sure what the process is for someone once the buyer becomes NARU'd. But I would deffiently file the NPB

Hopefully I can explain this so someone can help me out here.
I listed an item last week and ended today. I used ebays calculator to determine the cost. I'm almost certain that I calculated it for parcel post, because the item after boxing and using bubblewrap came out to 5lbs.4oz. and I wouldn't use priority for that, it would be too much $$. Anyway, to make sure I went to the actual listing and on the bottom where the calculator is I put in the buyers zip code and it came out to 19.00 and change for shipping. That amount is way to much $$$$$$. I would never in a million years mean to charge that. When I went to shipping assistant and calculated it on the domestic rates part, the shipping came out to 9.00 & change for parcel and 11.00 & change for priority. What the heck did I do wrong. Could I have made such a huge error in this or is ebays calculator sometimes wrong. Naturally I will email the buyer and tell him just to send me the exact amount for either parcel or priority, whichever he wants. But is there a way I can go to my listing and see what I exactly did. I can't believe someone would even bid on an item for that amount of shipping. I sure as heck wouldn't. The item is a toy. It sold for 40.00. TIA...
