Should I refund him or just mail it when the check clears?
Maybe email him and explain that you can not mail the item until the echeck clears. That if he would like to pay by another means, ie paypal funds (or check card if you accept check cards) then you would be able to mail the item out immediately.

Good golly!! Is there a full moon or what? All these nasty, demanding buyers.. Sheesh!

The "man" is NUTS if he expects you to send the merchandise BEFORE you're paid! If he chooses to use echecks or whatever, well - that's HIS problem.. Email him right away and tell him to make an instant payment and the item will be shipped - otherwise he'll just have to wait (word all of this "nicely" of course ;) ) and then explain that you've reviewed his feedback about items not arriving promptly and he could easily solve this problem by using a credit card or cash-available instant payments (again, "nicely" of course ;) )..

I really do love eBay but I'll tell ya - there have been days lately when I just wanted to scream my head off!! Now reading of all the problems you guys are having sure doesn't help matters any..

Why can't people just read the terms of sales - read the descriptions of the items - pay for them in a timely fashion - and stopp with all this ridiculous whining and wheedling to get out of a done deal ????

Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMEN! to that C.Ann!!

I would also like for buyers to realize that we are not sitting at our computers 24-7 waiting for thier emails/payments/questions etc. I had this one buyer, yesterday, we emailed me in the AM about my mailing address for a MO. I sent it to her. And then when I got home there were 3 more emails asking for my address, all sent within 20 mins of each other!! UGH!!

I have decided that I am going to put no more then 10 items on at a time and then wait a week inbetween listings, so I can have time to collect payment, package & ship the items sold from the week before. It is getting way too kaotic having things listed and having to get things ready for shipment, tracking payments etc., all at the same time. It is leaving no time for anything else, like life.

When signing up a bank account with Pay Pal can I use my savings account for deposit and withdraws? This question may have already been asked on here Iam sorry if I missed it.

Hi, winnie11:

Don't worry about asking questions again, there will be MANY questions asked more than once in the LOOOOOOONG thread!

I connected my PayPal acct to my savings account instead of my checking account. I didn't want to open another checking acct and adding a savings acct to my checking acct was free and a great way to separate the two.

and never give up!!! You can do it! Some days are just a little less magical than others, but cheer up. :)

I can sympathize with you. Had a horrific experience myself recently. I will tell you about it later. I'm kind of just checking through the threads right now to see what is going on, but have to get ready for work, so I can't stick around. But I will say a special prayer for you and your family. Keep smiling :)

I have taken the leap - eBay Motors! We have a boat we've been trying to sell all summer, and I finally decided that if I didn't sell it by Labor day, we'd have to winterize it again & wait 'til spring! I am AMAZED at the traffic you get in that section! I've had over 60 hits in under 3 hours... one watcher already... cross your fingers for me, friends!

I'll let you know what happens.

Well, I'm finally an e-bay seller. I listed 2 items today. It went fairly easy and hopefully I'll get some bids. The adding picture part KILLED me. The first picture I used came from a disposable camera. I got the cd when they were developed. That was a breeze. The window just popped up and I was able to add the picture. BUT, then I got a JamCam 3,0. Its easy to shoot, but I don't know how to get the pictures from the computer to the listing. I'm lost. If anyone out here has a JamCam, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me what to do. I had my 9yr.old dd helping me. Luckily I had taken 2 pictures with the disposable camera, so I used those. I would have loved to use 1 more, but the rest of the pictures were taken with the JamCam & I couldn't do it. I won't be able to list anymore items, til I learn how to do it. Please if some one has spare time, can you tell me what to do. I know how to hook up the cable to the computer and thats as much as I know...Yesterday I was a pre e-bay seller dummie, Today, I'm a new e-bay seller dummie......THanks for listening to me ramble......

Just a note to add that there are restrictions on the number of "automatic" withdrawals from a savings account per month (any transfer from savings to Paypal would be considered an automatic withdrawal), so you should also double check with your bank BEFORE you link the account to Paypal. (It's six per statement cycle.) No limit to credits, though, so if you only had your eBay fees coming OUT of the account, then you'd be fine!:D

Thanks, Robin! I'm just amazed at the traffic. I'm up to 9 watchers already this morning - of course, half of those may be friends and family, but still... I have high hopes. And I will absolutely share my experiences.

JUST WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT THANKS TO C.ANN, I AM NOW AN E-BAY SELLER WITH PICTURES ON MY AUCTIONS. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am the biggest computer dope in the world. But by her telling me what to do, step by step, I was able to put photos on my listing. I know this isn't a big deal to most of you, but it is to me and I just want to let everyone know what a great help she was to me.

Uh oh, Christopher Lowell's doing a segment on wedding gowns found on eBay! Should bring an influx of lurkers on! :p

When doing your ebay listings, do you type in ALL CAPS!! Or do you TyPe LiKe ThIs? How do you type out your listings??

I Generally Type Every First Letter As A Cap, At Least In The Title I Do This. I Am Not Sure Why I Do It This Way Just Something I Realized That I Do. The description I just type like normal, and maybe bold or underline words for emphasis.

So tell all, how do you type up your listings.

I Also Capitalize Each Word In My Auction Titles. WhEn YoU tYpE lIkE tHiS iT jUsT tAkEs ToO lOnG (and it confuses me, too, when I'm trying to actually type it...). ALL CAPS JUST SEEMS LIKE SHOUTING, EVEN ON EBAY!! :D That's my preference!:D

Robin, I wish I had cable. I have a wedding dress that was given to me along with a bunch of other stuff from an estate. I don't know anything about it or how much to list it for. I am going to set up another selling ID so I can sell fabric and extra stuff but I need a name.

I have a question - if I set up a new selling ID, can I use the same Paypal account or should I set up a different one?

dg39 - Congratulations - feels good to get it figured out doesn't it:bounce:

I just love this thread!!!!

Haven't seen it mentioned yet so I wanted to remind you all that a week from Monday is Labor Day...

With the long weekend you might want to give some extra thought to when you're going to have your auctions start and end...

Who is going to do what? I'm putting up some stuff today that will end next Thursday.. Beyond that, I haven't figured out what I'm doing yet.. Any advice from the "veterans" here??

Howdy All,
I dont know about everyone else, but I'm waiting til after Labor Day to list anything else. I think a lot of people are on vacation the next 2 weeks, plus I'm going to the Gulf that weekend.

Plus, I just got a ton of new stuff to sell that I need to sort out. It is going to take days of sorting.

Mrs. Snowgod:

Please let us know how this goes! My grandma wants me to put her sailboat up on e-Bay motors. The only item I have put up on e-Bay motors was the engine from my nephews old car. Thinking of putting a boat up is scary!!

MB :p
