Ok, I'm back with more questions. LOL I filed the NPB alerts, I was wondering about 2nd chance offers. Can I offer this to the next high bidder now, or do I have to wait? Or should I have done that b/4 I filed the NPB alert? This was like a $20 auction, and I would really like to get my $$. Thanks, Sandy

Have you tried the Live Help Chat line that eBay offers? You can ask any question you want there and they will either link you to the help page or answer it as well as posible. Afterwards you answer a little survey as to the effectiveness of the answers and whether or not you'd like a transcript. I've found them very helpful.

I have my first Paypal e-check payment. The buyer has a feedback of 2 and has emailed me to say she is very anxious to get the item.

My question for the experts is should I go ahead and mail the item or wait until the e-check clears?

Wait for it to clear. It would be the same as waiting for a personal check to clear your account except PayPal wont charge you if the e-check bounces. You can get the package ready to go....if she's very anxious she'd have asked to have you mail it Priority.

Wait!!! I have had 3 of these not clear. If she was anxious she should have paid with a money order or credit card. I have had 3 people bid on things in the last week and wanted them within a week. One person asked me to "overnite" the item after paying $4.00 shipping........another ordered something yesterday and wanted it for her son's birthday on Friday...she lives half way across the US from us!!!!

That's what I was thinking to hold it. She wants it by Wed. and she did pay for Priority shipping because she is going out of town.

She emailed me at first saying she was going to Fed-ex a money order. Then the next day she couldn't because her husband deleted my address. Then the next day she said her daughter was sick so she would get it out today. Today daughter is still sick which is why she did the e-check. I don't know if she knew I needed to wait until that cleared.

I just sent her an email saying when the e-check clears she could possibly give me an address where she will be staying and I could send it there.

I'm home from camp just to do some shipping and laundry..wow have you guys been busy!

I use vrane to leave my feedback automatically. I pay pennies for the convenience..but it's worth it. As soon as feedback is left for me, it leaves pos for them. It only responds to positive, not that negs have been a problem. It saves me more time for other things. When people write and ask me ot leave it first, I do tell them I use vrane and it's done automatically. If they specifically write to tell me they got the item, and are happy with the outcome, if they don't leave it witin a couple of days, I will (if I remember LOL) since that is the end of the buy-sell..but usually they just leave it as soon as they hear I do it automatically.

Sometimes the NPB alert gets them to pay. If not, I call them (free cell minutes..I had one gal on a cruise when the auction ended and she forgot about it..then paid right away just htis week). I always wait until I send the Final fees return to offer to the second higher bidder (second chance).

Just a mention..becasue of spam problems..a lot of IPS's have blocked certain addy's (including AOL!)..so your notices may not be getting through, even though they are from other people. So while one person may have been able to leave feedback because they were paid, they may not have gotten your email.

I was wondering where the heck you were! Was going to email you because I was afraid you might be sick or something..

I'm heading to the lake tomorrow.. Would rather stay home and eBay - but - for the next two months my DD will have the weekends off from her job and she would really like for me to be up there when she, her DH and my granddaughter are there.. I'll come back down sometime Monday - hate driving down from there on Sunday night when there's so much traffic heading back this way..

I'll probably go back up again on Wed. or Thurs. (for the 4th of July weekend) and then return the following Monday..

Why thanks for being worried We took the grands camping to Turning Stone (no gambling, just great camping) and we'll head to the Aidirondacks Monday. We need to get together..I'm saving you the "air" pillows as I get them for packing materials..and I have a bunch of unused newsprint that I got from the gift shop. Do you need any boxes, about 12 X 12 X14?

Wow, had a great night! Now to hit the estate sales and get more stuff up!

Funny thing, I had an item go unsold and relisted it. Not ten minutes after I did it someone emailed me and asked if I'd ship to Canada. I gave him the rates, all more than the price of the item and he accepted. I also wanted to add that nearly everything I relisted sold this time around. I would not hesitate to relist anything that goes unsold!

Man this happens to me ALL the time. They want the item for a huge occasion tomorrow! Don't people THINK???

I did pretty well on ebay last week...most of my auctions sold. Yahoo! I have a bunch up now with only 1 item with a bid(though I sold one with BIN yesterday)
I wish a few more itmes would get bids. I did have several friends ask if I would sell for them...I hope that pans out as I am doing it anyway...why not make a commision and sell for others?

Just out of curiosity:
Do you find that one 'type' of item sells better or do you do a little of everythig and it all sells equally well?

I sell a mish-mash of items but my sporting goods type item seem to sell best...

Just wondering if after awhile it would be better to 'specialize'

This is actually one of the reasons you should make sure to use eBay at least once when you send a request for payment email. Send an invoice or a reminder notice from My eBay as well as an email from your personal account. That way all the bases are covered and the person can't just say they didn't get your email.

BTDT ... as the buyer! I just ordered an Ameribag for our WDW trip last Sunday and we're leaving this Sunday. FedEx Ground got it to me in 3 days, no special handling . I also bought a 128 MB camera memory card right before going to France. From Hawaii. I paid for Priority Mail and it got to me in 4 days.

I would really resist "helping" if I were you. Again, BTDT. I sold some stuff for my mother. It's a huge pain. YOU have to create the auction. YOU have to deal with the customers. YOU have to pack and send (or make sure your friends or family do it right). YOU have to accept payments. YOU have to send emails. YOU have to leave FB. YOU have to set their money aside and pay them. YOU have to do all the work. And ... if anything should go wrong ... it's YOUR feedback that will suffer. AFAIK, a commission is just not worth it.
