:) Thanks DMRICK

I am going to post the vouchers.
You are right about value.
I did use them on our last trip and it was nice just to
have the meals taken care of.
Without trying we spent about $16.00 at the food court
"Movies". using one.
We were able to get a drink to bring back to the room and a snack for later so it worked out well.
I think i'll just list them as a lot.
That way I won't have to deal with so many different bidders.

I have a question about the counters. When I look at my item it will show only 4 views and then when I go into counter stats it shows 24 views. Does it keep track of my views - is that how many times I have checked it Just curious.

Andale gives you the option of having a "smart" counter (Doesn't count consecutive refreshes by same buyer) and a page counter {Counts every time the page is refreshed). Maybe this is the reason for the discrepancy, not sure. You can edit your counters and see if that makes a difference.

It lets you see "who" is watching?

I meant that it lets you see that someone had added your item to their watch list. It doesn't show WHO it is. I have an item ending tomorrow that doesn't have ONE bid on it but has three watchers. That tells me something... :teeth:

Sounds like a great thing to add but dont forget the peeps that watch just to see the closing price of an auction if they have the same item to sell too.

whew..cause I have a page full of watches..all my competition LOL. I thought your "watch page" was a lot smarter than mine LOL!

***Newbie Alert *** Newbie Alert ***

I just recv'd another email from someone asking if I would ship first-class instead of priority because it would be a little cheaper. I only had $3.50 listed for shipping charges based on what similar items shipped for.

I said I would be happy to ship first class. Now my question. If this person is the winning bidder, how do I change the shipping charges? And is this the way to handle it in the future?

Thanks- Cindy

Forgot about those! I know I've done that!

Another question, has anyone read any of the many books on eBay? I'm considering ordering one for information, any suggestions?

I had someone email me about changing my form of shipment to media mail if she won. She did and on the invoice it was simple to change the shipping information afterwards. I hope that helps.

HELP!!!

An interested buyer on one of my auctions has emailed me about shipping to Japan!!!

How would I go about this? I'm checking international shipping through USPS, but I wonder about the exchange of funds, etc. Anyone have any advice. The auction ends tomorrow night!

Yup - thanks so much.

I have gotten emails on 3 of the four items listed, but still only one bid. My stats are now 3 above and 1 below. Sorry to bore you mega sellers but it's exciting for me. I'll probably sell all of these in the last minute for listing price. Oh, well this is my learning curve period before I really take the plunge.

That really wasn't enough shipping for Priority anyway..the least you can ship Priority is under a pound for $3.85 (unless it fits in Flat Rate envy..then it's always $3.85). ..so she may have done you a favor. If it's over a pound, then it depends on how far the buyer is from you. An under 2# package (but over 1#) will ship from $3.95-$5.75.

For first class, keep in mind you now have to come up with the packaging...so figure that in your shipping costs. And as long as it's over 3/4" thick, you can stil do your label on line and get free delivery confirmation.

An interested buyer on one of my auctions has emailed me about shipping to Japan!!!

For sales to Japan..all of my Japanese people have sent concealed cash. If they pay any other way, be sure to tell them it must be in US funds. Money orders come as international..but it must say US funds. I don't know if Paypal does Japan yet, but if they do, they'll do the conversion for you.

Sorry to bore you mega sellers but it's exciting for me.

I don't know who on this board qualifies as a mega seller (even with 150 auctions up, I'm small next to the real big guys LOL!)..but every bid still gives me a thrill. No shame for selling at listing price..I'm happy to sell at listing price..that's why I have it there! Of course I prefer that everything went way over listing price..but I'll take these bids. Congratulations on what you have accomplished just getting some stuff up on eBay.

Counters: To Show or not to show???

All of my auctions have hidden counters. As a seller, what do you prefer?

I see advantages to both. With my items that have a lot of view, I think it might help. But for the one that have few view, I prefer it hidden.

I see that you can sell memberships to things on ebay but are there any restrictions? If you have an online store that has a shoppers club can you sell memberships on ebay?
I read the stuff on ebay but I don't really get it! LOL! Maybe I am a little slow...

Also do any of you "advertise" your auctions in anyway to get more lookers?

If you sell the same thing over and over you could design a website with a link to your auctions. If you have any questions or want to add your opinion to any of the forums on Ebay there is a link next to your user name that will list your auctions.

I used to have my counters hidden, but now I don't. I want my buyers to see that something has a lot of hits on it.

How did everyone do today? I had 8 auctions ending. 4 sold and 4 with no bids. 3 have already paid with PayPal, so I can't complain! I'm a little closer to my Disney trip:D

Hi everyone

I've been lurking for 4 days (that's how long it's taken me to read this thread):o and now i'm off to study the e bay website so i can start selling asap!:teeth:

I've got over a year to save up, which i'll need to get all my junk in some sort of order.:p
I booked the holiday even though we couldn't afford it, and was planning to have the holiday paid off by the time we go and put most of our spending on credit cards (which i'm still paying off from last time) (about £2000).:(

I'd better get my *** in gear and maybe i'll be able pay off those and cover some of our spending money in time.

Thanks for the inspiration and i'll keep you posted!!!:p

Welcome Korb!

Pull up a chair and sit for while!! With over a year to do eBay you should be able to make some decent money.. :) Take it from one who knows though - do NOT procrastinate and keep thinking you "will" do it.. Just DO it!! I procrastinated for a good year and now I could KICK myself!! Hang out here, and the folks will help you as best they can.. We've got a GREAT group here and we've all got the same goal - " I wanna go to Disney World !!!" My trip is scheduled for December - and I'll be paying for two others as well as myself - so I've really been hustling since I started in late March.. Things are going REAL good for me and I'm hoping they stay that way!!

-------------------------------------

Now - to the rest of the class.. How are you all doing? It's been a pretty productive 5 or 6 days for me.. (I have auctions ending on all different days "just because" - LOL) I've sold quite a bit - and there's some things I'm going to relist - but there's one thing that I did learn this week that I have been suspecting all along.. If I really want to make money every day - or at least two or three times a week - I need to keep a larger amount of auctions up at all times.. If I have enough out there, seems that someone always finds SOMETHING they want..;)

I also noticed that the last-minute bidders are out in full force - more so than usual.. I don't really care (although it's nice to get MORE) because what I set the bid at is what I want and if I get it, I'm satisfied! A couple of bucks here and a couple of bucks there has added up to an awful LOT of "bucks" for my Disney trip!!

This afternoon I was sitting here watching a couple of my auctions and I kept thinking - "I can't REALLY be making money this way.. I must be DREAMING.." So - I got out my envelopes and looked at the money, and sure enough, it's REAL - LOL!!

Once again I have to thank DMRick for starting me down this road to eBay.. Without her guidance I never would have gotten up the nerve to try it..

If you're out there DMRick I want you to know something.. Your encouragement is about to make a dream come true for me - my DD - and my granddaughter.. I could say "thank you" a million times - and it would never be enough.. You've pretty much become our "Fairy Godmother" and how do you thank a person for making your biggest wish come true ??? You're the BEST and I just wanted you to know that..

-----------------

Okay - it's Sunday night, so let's get listing, class!!;)

Yaaaay ebay!!!!!!!

Everyone has been so helpful!!! After reading this thread I decided to take the plunge last Sunday and listed a few items. I had 3 items that sold and two more that will close in a few hours. I am definitely hooked!!! I have question, is there an invoice that I print-off and mail with each package? If so where do I get it. Thanks so much!!!

Also, on your selling page - where it says "Send invoice" - you can click on that, fill in the necessary information at the bottom (your payment terms) and print that out as an ivoice too. Just write "Paid" on it when you include it with the item..

"Addicting" isn't it ?????????????? ;)
