You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

Sorry to seem so thick, but, is this right, then? Say the starting bid is $1, the reserve is $25. If I bid $24 only $1 will show up and "reserve has not been met"-- but if I bid $26 then $25 will show up?

Yes, you got it. I don't know why it didn't work for you before (or whoever it was LOL who posted it didn't work)..but if you bid at least the reserve, your high bid should show up and you should win the item (unless you are outbid).

I have no idea why someone wouldn't tell you what the reserve it..you are showing interest. Heck, I just want to sell my items..I'd tell you!

I just got about 10 auctions ready on Turbo Lister this morning to upload tonight for the 1cent gallery sale. These were things I was going to list on Thursday anyway, so I thought I would take advantage of the sale. I think they will do better with the gallery image.

Will the 1cent fee still count if I use Turbo Lister?? I assume so.

Maggie

The .01 sale is showing when I list using TL, EXCEPT the listing designer, which is charging .10. I posted on another board, and someone copied from Ebay, that it would be credited after the sale was over.

You can check your fees before you upload and see what they are. Mine were .36 for $3.99 start and gallery.

HTH!

Another option you might want to check out is Carrier Pickup.. If your package already has postage on it (i.e. printed from PayPal or from USPS Click n Ship), you can go onto the postal website and have your mail carrier pickup your packages while they are on their route! You just put the info in on how many packages etc, where you will leave them (by mailbox, or back porch, etc), and they will pick them up the next day! Here is the website:

i hope this helps!

I have called 800 ask USPS four times regarding this. Everytime I get refused, I call. I got a call back from her window supervisor basically telling me since she has a doctors note, she has to abide by the union. Union rules, per the supervisor, is if she can complete 90% of her duties she can remain at the window. I then asked her supervisor if turning away customers was included in that 90% or is that the 10% that is under her medical leave.

The supervisor couldn't answer me. The supervisor told me that she will get the postmaster involved. I may have to call the postmaster again to follow up.

Noticed something funny last night will taking a look at my items that I have up for bid on ebay.

Shortly after I listed them, one of my items had a watcher. I was like great, maybe some one will buy it.

Then last I was taking look at my up for sell list on My Ebay, and I noticed on the same item that I now have -1 watchers. Not 0 watchers, -1 watchers. Now how did that happen? Going to check the list again to see if its still a negative watch.

Well I thought it was kinda funny so I thought I would share.

Hi. I haven't been selling on E-Bay very long and things we going well until yesterday.

On May 5, an auction ended. I send the buyer an invoice. She replied that she would be paying soon. Four days later, I sent a reminder. Every three or four days I sent an E-mail asking if she still wanted this item. The last E-mail I sent said that I was going to have to file a NPB form and relist the item, which I did.

My terms of auction state payment within 10 days, which I have extended a few times for buyers who have stayed in contact with me. This buyer never responded to reminders and E-mails.

Was I right to post NFB saying "Many attempts to contact. No response. Tried to be patient. Totally ignored me." Within 10 minutes of posting the NFB, I had one saying "Poor communication skills. Would not recommend this seller."

She then sent me an E-mail (the first received) saying "You must be certifiable...I did not receive emails from you and now this! Go away!" My reply was "You're right, I'm nuts. I did not send an invoice, reminders, or E-mails (however, I have copies). You also did not know you were the winner of this auction."

She then left a reply to the NFB saying "Seller is not rational emailed me after leaving feedback. Avoid this seller."

This is the first NFB I have received and I was shocked. Did I handle this situation correctly? BTW, the buyer as FB of +485 and -8 (all as a seller and not shipping the item or contacting the buyer - some old, some recent).

Hi Becky - I feel your pain - YES you did the right thing!

Your next step if you haven't already taken it should be to block her from bidding on any of your auctions. I've only had to file one NPB after sending lots of emails to no avail, similar thing happened - afterwards she was all over it, begging me to send the product - telling me her husbad forgot to send the payment, she was at the hospital caring for a friend...blah blah blah...could've been true, but if you KNOW you are bidding on an item and you KNOW it is going to end, aren't you at least going to check and see if you now have a responsibility to complete the transaction?? I relisted my item, got paid for it and shipped it out - two weeks later here came the first gal's check and another whiney note; I just returned the check to her and that was the end of it.

Don't worry too much about her leaving you that feedback - if she is your only problem people will pick up on you being a good person through your contact, the types of emails you send, etc.

Word of advice - before I filed the NPB on her I looked through her feedback and contacted some of the other sellers that she had purchased from at the same time she purchased from me - they had also not been paid and all communications had been ignored. I gave her extra time since one of the other sellers having the same problem with this person had a LOT of experience; however, I eventually did file on her. The other seller did not file, ended up getting paid and left positive feedback. Go figure.

Well I have read through all 70 pages and have gotten alot of excellent info. I was inspired to register and have listed my first few items. I have many things to sell but thought I would start with a couple to work out the kinks...I'm sure I will make some errors!!!

It seems to be that most items only get bids in the last view hours, I hope this to be true in my case.

It's tough to get past the fact that I am new and have no feedback--I'm sure, as I have read here, that makes people leary of buying from me. How did you all get through being the newbie with no feedback? Is there anything in particular I can do to ensure buyers I am honest and selling products exactly as I represent them?

Hi Tracey.

I myself just started selling a few weeks ago. In the very beginning, I just started listing a few things around the house, 8-10 items. After that first auction ends and the items are received, your feedback builds fairly quickly.

Just make sure to check E-mail frequently and answer all questions promptly. Make sure to send an E-mail saying that the item has been shipped.

After you receive some FB from your first auctions, check with the other buyers who haven't posted FB. Don't ask them for FB, but inquire if they have received the item yet. That will usually prompt them to leave FB for you.

Actually it's all about customer service. If you present yourself as friendly and helpful, your buyers will show their appreciation in FB.

Good luck.

Becky

Maggie

I find that it is not accurate for my stuff at all. I compare it to my Andale Counter and it isn't listing hardly as many watchers as Andale.

Andale and ebay "watchers" are two different things. The "watch" count on MY EBAY reflects people who actually add your auction to their MY EBAY "items i am watching" page. The Andale counter just shows people who "visit" your auction, not necessarily "watching". So your "watch" count will more than likely always be less than your andale counter.

I'm glad it made sense cause after i reread what i wrote, i wasn't so sure it made any sense at all! LOL!

I need help figuring out where to list 2 items that I have, and IF I should even list them.

I have 2 colored glass bottles from the 1970's I think, they both have paintings on them. They were ,my grandmothers. The dark green one has a paining of a red barn with trees in a winter setting, and the dark blue one also is a winter setting with a barn and a deer.

Can anyone help me? I wouldn't know what to start a price out at, where to list it, what to call them??? They are not jars, I'm not sure what kind of glass bottles they are. HELP!!!!

You might want to see if ebay has a section for art glass. Take a look and see if there is anything like that already listed.

Good luck!

I'm sorry if this has been posted before - I've been trying to read thru all the posts, but it is very hard to catch up.

I'm somewhat new to selling on Ebay. Being from Canada, shipping to the US is rather expensive. Per Ebay's recommendations, I have set a policy of shipping only with confirmation. However, so far, I'd say that >90% of my items sold therefore require a shipping charge in the area of $7 - $10, including some theme park tickets. I'm sure this deters many prospective buyers

So far I haven't read too much about delivery confirmation. Is this a must? From what I've read it's the only way to protect yourself from the dishonest "buyers". However, I do think that it hurts my sales.

Does anyone have any suggestions in this regard? With regard to the tickets, one buyer asked after purchasing them if I could ship them regular letter mail. I had to decline because of the lack of confirmation. Regular mail would have cost perhaps $0.60 - instead I had to charge her $7. Am I on the right track?

I don't know if this is something that can be done from Canada to the US. But one option might be signature conformation on a letter. This way they can not take delivery of the letter until they signed for it, either with the post man who delivers the letter, or they have to go to thier local post office and sign for it there. Then you get the card back with thier signature.

I know that it might be a pain on the side of the buyer, but it might offer a little bit of protection.

This way you can offer maybe half off on your shipping. Say like $3.50 US to mail the tickets.

I'm not sure about mailing from Canada but delivery confirmation here in the US is only 45 cents. It's free with priority IF you print the labels off yourself from their website. It's 13 cents with parcel post and first class IF you print the labels using shipping assistant.

I just checked at the Canadian postal website for information.

It appears that you can send items to the USA with Delivery Confirmation. Sender's and buyers information has to be entered for a price quote so I was unable to get a price.

This is the link for personal shipping. There is also one for business.

Canadian International PO for Shipping to the USA

I would check with your postal clerks for their suggestions. I am in the USA, but my postal clerks have been a big help to me over the years.
If they don't have an answer for me, they research until they find one.

Hope this helps.
