You Guys Part of the Family? You've Got the Magic In Your Eyes!!->Updated 10/19x3!!!!

Ahhh I'm actually excited to see FOTLK in it's new home.

Bahaha, I actually honestly forgot this was 2012 until I saw the border.

Six trips to Everest... NICE!!

That's so great that Paige loved the show too. I can't imagine what she would have done when you inevitably left her behind if she didn't.

I know!! I will be excited for when it moves, but at the same time, I don't want that to happen when I'm there!!

Ahaha, yeah, I'm trying to wrap this up as quick as I can, lawl!

Thanks!!

Aahahahah, so true!

That yogurt parfait looks good so it's sad that it didn't taste good! Good point about the meals/snacks.

I'm so glad they aren't closing FOTLK! I do really hope that when it moves to its new location that it goes back on the list of options for Disney wedding reception venues. Cause seriously, Chris and I already agreed on having our reception there so it needs to happen.

Nice photopass shots! I love your matching Mickey sunglasses.

6 rides on Everest is awesome! That picture of you guys making the heart is SO CUTE! Ahh

AH you saw DIivine! I wanna see her! I'm gonna be on the lookout in September!

I love reading your trip reports because you always describe the feelings from a Disney trip so perfectly! I just want to be there ughh!

SO glad Paige loved the FOTLK!! Sounds like she's a perfect Disney companion!:goodvibes

I will never make sense of some of the meal/snack credits, like, that's a snack, don't make me waste a meal credit on it...kthx....are you guys on ddp for Sept??

Thanks!!

And yeah, gonna try for that heart picture again this year!!

Devine's so cool, it's insane talent and just to blend in is awesome!!

Ahahahah, thanks!! I sometimes just become taken over by my Disney feels so it goes intoo writing nicely!

Yeah this is going to be our first trip on the DDP! I'm trying to learn everything about it and not be all confused when we get there!

Hey Katt love those sunglasses you and Paige were sporting! Very appropriate for the park!! :thumbsup2 And your hair looks very lovely!

I've never seen Devine. I need to be on the look out. I'm sure she's easy to miss unless there's a group of people gathered around.

You were giving Rob a run for his Yeti money! SIX time is very commendable. Great job with the cutesie pose! :cutie:

FOTLK is my favorite stage show in all of WDW! Hands down, no contest favorite.

Awesome!! Dont worry about it. I get re-confused everytime, baha!! But you get a main, a side, and a dessert & drink every meal! I always use the meal credits to get my bottle of water & since i cant eat a whole meal (imma child...baha) I usually swap out the side/ dessert for carrot sticks/apples/grapes! Lol

When Mom & I first had to deal with the TS credits I was SO confused!!

Hi!! Thanks!! They got super scrathed between then & now, but I've got 2 new pairs from Disney that the Mickey's are more hidden & super cute!!

She's super easy to miss! I find she's usually out earlier, before that pathway is too crowded, I catch her while she's on the way in for a break most days!

We try!! I always like to try and beat the goal ofhe last time we were there! I'd like to say I could get 8 next trip but I'll definitely have to use the single rider as Mom wont be up for it!! The all time record was 106!!

Its the best, absolute best, I will do everything and anything to be in that show! Specifically the bird dancer!!

Ps: how far are you guys from DLR? It looks like we're going out there late May/early June next year!! :D

If you guessed that we were going to meet the 100 Acre Wood Gang, you guessed right!! There wasn’t too much of a wait before we were hanging out with Pooh!

He was cute, a little meh, obviously stuffed with fluffy, maybe he was too distracted by the thought of hunny later on that he didn’t really care? Lawl. We moved onto Eeyore next!

He on the other hand, was SUPER adorable, and when Paige asked him about his tail he jumped around to show us his bum and then wiggled it at us! Yay!

Photo0461FourBySix.jpg

Also, as you can see, the first photopass picture is like, completely crooked, there’s no mistaking that, that’s not “for a border to be put in” that’s just not good…. Oh well, we moved over to Tigger next, and since the family in front of us had already moved on, he was waltzing all by his lonesome! AH! Awesome!

64-4.jpg

Paige had her autograph book out, and the same Jack Skellington pen she had had earlier in the week, and Tigger, was not as fond of Jack as Naveen had been! He was actually scared of Jack, and made a point to hide behind me!

65-4.jpg

Photo0467FourBySix.jpg

He did eventually overcome his fear when we explained that it was just a pen, and it was okay, Jack wouldn’t hurt him! Tigger signed Pagie’s book, and in a whirl of an arm swing to hand it back to her, ended up actually punching her in the face! Like, OUCH!

67-4.jpg

He was of course immediately apologetic, and I’m sure he felt VERY bad, but Paige was all good, no bleeding or bruises, she’s a tough one! Hahaha! He took some time for some more hugs, lots of bouncing, kisses, and even danced around with us a ton!

Hands down our favorite 100 Acre Wood member, that’s for sure!

Seriously, just look at how cute he is! He’s totally adorable! And now, because of the abundance of awesome pictures from that meet and greet, I leave you for this update. Next up: it’s time for the wilderness to be explored! CAW-CAW-RAWR.

Where we left off, Paige and I were saying goodbye to an amazing Tigger, and were headed more into Dinoland for a Russell & Dug meet up! The skies were starting to turn a little grey….black….whatever you’d like to say…and the CM’s around the m&g were saying that if it started to thunder, there would be no m&g. BOO! Luckily for us, when the two adventure-ers came back from their break, the thunder wasn’t happening, so we were safe! Also, little details about the line up, Russell’s got his backpack and there’s a wagon of supplies too!

70-4.jpg

71-4.jpg

Paige of course got her autograph book signed (and I might have as well on this trip?)

72-4.jpg

73-4.jpg

And of course there were hugs all around, I mean, these guys are pretty friendly, especially Dug! “I have just met you and I LOOOVE you!” My dog’s like that too…unless you’re just not a good person, then it’s just not okay! Baha!

They were cute, but not the highlight of the day character wise! ALSO, can we talk about the new “Wilderness Explorer” thing that Disney’s brining to Animal Kingdom?! It makes it a full day park for me for sure, and it sounds SO COOL. I’m kinda hoping that they’ll do it starting in Feb so we’ll get to try it out a bit!!

With the last meet and greet done, Paige and I decided to head over to Dinosaur…I had described the ride to her, and she didn’t like the sound of it, but figured “Hey, we should do everything at least once, right? It can’t be that bad….” On the way in we managed to hear the Bill Nye intro again, and I freaked out!! I mean, that was a STAPLE of science class growing up, I guess Paige wasn’t in the right age range, or just wasn’t as excited as me though. We boarded our jeep, previously joking about how, “don’t worry, we know the seatbelts go left to right” only to be struck by surprise when in fact, they go the opposite way on Dinosaur! “THIS SEATBELT IS NOT LEFT TO RIGHT” it was clearly a sign that this wasn’t going to be a fun ride… and then we began our adventure….and it’s safe to say we both had our eyes closed through most of it. The verdict on Dinosaur remains the same: NO! It’s dark, things jump out, it’s scary, and I do not like it, and neither did Paige.

We walked pretty quickly through the gift shop, and upon getting outside, noticed that those grey skies had taken a turn, and it was raining, not really sprinkling, but actually raining. Gross. In case you forgot, both of us had taken the time to straighten our hair that morning…ugh… #firstworldproblems. What would we do next?!

Seriously... how can anyone not love Eeyore. It's physically impossible!! :thumbsup2

Awwwww that PP picture with Paige hugging Tigger is PERFECT! I don't know if it's the angle it was taken or the border or what but something about it is just so fabulous and real.

Darn, no redneck Dino photo!! Booo-urns.

You know, you would really think they would have a standard seatbelt direction for ALL Disney rides. Honestly. :confused3

Dinosaur has never bothered me for some reason. I've never felt like something popped out at me. That said, I am kind of tiring of it so it's becoming less of a must do for me. Also, this is where I lost my wallet, so that doesn't help its cause.
All the more time for Everest as a result... which I am in no way tiring of!!

Super cute pictures with Pooh and friends especially Tigger! Too cute that he was afraid of Jack :rotfl:

YAY DUG AND RUSSELL! Meeting them was too cute!

The Wilderness Explorer thing does sound cool but I heard reports they weren't too receptive to adults playing without kids :confused3

AH Bill Nye in Dinosaur is totally exciting!

AH rain after I straightened my hair seriously depresses me. Like I know it shouldn't matter that much but it's really so disappointing!

I know right?! So adorable! I am sad that you can't meet him except for CP anymore, but at least they didn't take away Tigger!! It really is! Disney magic at its best! Love him! Definitely one of the best meets we've had with Tigger!

I just dont like it, at all, and it won't be a favorite of mine ever baha! I dunno.

It was awesome! One of the best Tigger meets I've had!!

Aw man, that's so not cool! Oh well, I'll do it anyway, whatever, they can't stop me, right? I'm 6 inside! Hahaha

Totaly awesome!!

I know!! Like, #firstworldproblem but seriously, it SUCKS, especially when it's a really nice straight and you're all happy about how great your hair looks, then BAM, rain storm.

I was a little behind again so I'm commenting on more than one post.

Ah, I love Disney bagels. There is something about them that is so much better than bagels outside of Disney. :thumbsup2 I have used a snack credit in the past to buy a bagel.

Wow, 6 times on EE, I would be .

I have to agree with Paige, I found DeVine to be a bit creepy too!

I'm glad that Paige shared your love of FOLK. I can't wait to share it with DH in October. No idea what he will think since he isn't a huge Disney fan. But how can you not love it? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Too bad you didn't get an actual picture of the punch from Tigger. That would have been hilarious to see.

I love the squirrel in Dug's Wagon!

Totes fair! I've been updating pretty quick over here!

Hm, good to know! I'll keep that in mind for Sept!

Ahaha, totally fair, it was starting to get to me, and with Feb us only beating our goal by splitting it up into two days, I think next time we'll have to ride it 8 times in one day! Yeah, Devine is awesome, but also a little creepy lol.

Ahaha, it's such a great show that I think everyone loves it! Tyler liked BaTB more, don't really know why aside from the "sexy chefs" as he called them during Be Our Guest...*sigh*

Oh my gosh a punch picture wouldve been awesome!

I made the decision that despite the rain, we did have a lunch ADR to get to eventually, and there was a gift shop not far from here, we could try to make it there and try not to get too wet, the storm should pass, right? So, we walked as fast as we could/ran towards the gift shop on the edge of Dinoland!

77-4.jpg

78-3.jpg

There’s lots of cookies and some fun mitts, but not a whole lot to look at in there, especially when half the population of the park is crowded in there, not a lot of space either. We talked it over and decided that we had to head over to Tusker House now, once we were there, we would be sheltered. I mapped out the best route in my head, and decided that cutting across Discovery Island would be easier, and have more places to hide from the rain in. Paige made the call to buy an umbrella while were in the gift shop, so once that purchase was made, we were on our way!

Well…by the time we left the gift shop, the walkways were all completely soaked, and the rain had gotten WAY worse, it was pouring, and thundering and lightning all over the place. It was actually kinda scary now, and I wont lie, the thought “oh god it’s a hurricane” crossed our minds, I mean, it was hurricane season, and this was bad, but it couldn’t be that bad, right?

While we made our run through the end of Dinoland, the umbrella completely flipped inside out and ripped, there was seriously no fixing it. It didn’t really matter as we were both already pretty wet (and I had been running ahead, so I was soaked) but Paige had just spent quality money on it, and that sucked. We took cover in a little bathroom across from Flame Tree BBQ (that area) and then continued on our run through the puddles. The one bonus, no one was out on the paths, so we didn’t have to people dodge too. Pizzafari was our next destination of cover, and after a few moments rest, we took off in the homestretch towards Africa!

Now, in case you haven’t realized, this was FREAKING CRAZY, our adrenaline was pumping and we were legit scared, there’s something about thunder that is yes, totally awesome, but totally terrifying at the same time. It was SUPER INSANE loud, and freaking us out, and just as we crossed the bridge into Africa, a clap of thunder louder than both of us have ever heard erupted, and we both definitely let out some loud screams and rushed our little bums under the Tusker House awning and into safety.

We got there at 1:00, but they told us we couldn’t check in until at least 1:15, well, we were soaked, freezing, and everyone and their dog was standing under the awning, we were not happy campers!

79-3.jpg

We waited around until 1:15, and seriously it was a crowded mess of a gong show in there, there was lots of pushing and shoving, and just lots of not so cool stuff going on as it was crazy weather and there aren’t many shelters in AK. Most of the people under the awning didn’t even have reservations, luckily we did, and we checked in right at 1:15.

Since the weather had been so bad, and wasn’t about to let up, we were lead in the door of the front of the building and led over to our table that way instead of the back door you usually go in. We also saw that Donald was roaming the restaurant instead of taking pictures outside, YAY! Paige took a good look at the ceiling, she’s good at catching on to Disney rules!

80-3.jpg

We were seated in (what I would normally call) the back room of the restaurant, coming in the back door, you’d make a hard right U-turn like, and go back to the very back. We were at a small little table for 2 in a nice spot, minus the crying and screaming child in the room with us, but hey, that’s part of Disney. We ordered some hot chocolates and waters and boy were we happy to be inside, in the warmth and out of the rain!

81-3.jpg

82-3.jpg

The buffet was calling our names, and we practically ran up there, thankful to be alive in this wreck of a hurricane, lawl.

83-3.jpg

Paige’s plate: we’ll start with the ceaser salad and go clockwise, she’s got some cornbread, mashed potatoes, roast beef, corn dog nuggets, some kind of chicken/bruscetta?, and some rice!

My plate: We’ll start at the bottom big thing, and go clockwise, I’ve got some butter chicken w/rice, naan bread, cornbread, roast beef with some horseradish (I’m guessing) and mashed potatoes with gravy!

Verdicts on Tusker House lunch: 5/5!! I loved it! I was hesitant after breakfast not being as great as I had remembered it, but the food was amazing! I’m sure it was better because of how hungry I was, and how cold we were, and the fact that it was a hot meal, but I loved it! Everything’s got an “African” feel to it, but isn’t super crazy adventurous, and all really delicious. I found it all to be hot and fresh, and was impressed with the food and service!

While we were eating, the characters started coming around, they would circle through the outside of the room we were in, then go into the little “side” room beside our table, and then come up behind me, to hang out with us for a bit!

86-3.jpg

85-3.jpg

First up was Daisy, she wasn’t nearly as sassy as she had been earlier in the week, but was still lovely to say hello to. Her main man Donald was up after that, and he certainly is NUMBER 1 in our eyes!

87-3.jpg

88-2.jpg

Clearly we were pretty busy eating while the first couple of characters came around…food was pretty important at this time, haha! While we watched Goofy come around the room, and as he was taking pictures with some kids, he was practically doing the splits to get down to their level, which was pretty funny to look at!

89-3.jpg

We got some good hugs and actually stood up for Goofy!

90-3.jpg

91-3.jpg

Somewhere in there we both went back and got another plate of food, which involved a lot of corn dog nuggets, and Uncrustables, because hey, we are 6 years old sometimes! I also grabbed a dessert plate with an uncrustable half, some banana bread bread pudding, and a little molten lava cake thing. Paige and I had managed to get the last of the Uncrustables on our previous trip, so when we went back to get more, they had just put a fresh batch out, and they had clearly been in the fridge for a while, and the peanut butter was all cold & hard. Boourns.

Mickey had made his way around the room though, so we had that to look forward to!

92-3.jpg

93-3.jpg

94-2.jpg

Paige figured she had to get a kissing photo as every other time she had met Mickey she had done one, so why break the trend now? Sometime during our meal the cute little parade with all the kids happened, and once Mickey had come by, we were all finished up with everything. We paid out of pocket for lunch, and, since the rain had stopped, we were actually okay with leaving the sheltered indoors, ha!

95-3.jpg

96-3.jpg

Were we headed back to brave the yeti one more time? Well…that would have to wait, we had some big plans that evening, and it would take a while to get ready for them, especially after all the rain…and our nice straight hair being all ruined…booooo. We jumped on a bus back to Art of Animation, and made a point to stop in the gift shop to pick up some ponchos before walking back to the room. Would they hold up for the evening? Here’s hopin!

Paige and I had just returned from a rather WET morning over at Animal Kingdom, and were starting to get ready for our awesome plans that night; Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!!! Originally on this trip, I had been planning to be Alice with my Mom, and then be Rapunzel with Cody as Flynn, but then the trip changed around a whole bunch. I had planned on still being Rapunzel, but ended up not having the extra $200.00 for the costume, SO, when Paige mentioned she was thinking of being Tinkerbell, I knew who I had to be!

PERIWINKLE! I’ve been in love with her since the first merchandise/pictures came out, a winter woods fairy, yeah, totally me! I had my Mom re-work my grad dress into Peri’s costume, and had originally “painted” some white leggings into light blue to go with them. However, as I found out today, the paint made them shrink, and I had been scared to wash them, so they no longer fit. Thankfully, it was long enough to wear as a dress, and I did have bike shorts underneath.

Paige and I probably took about an hour or so getting ready in the room, make up, hair, costumes, figuring out how ponchos and wings would work together, and attempting to do hair while it was still wet. (Major trouble for me morseo BAHA) eventually we were down at the bus stop and waiting for a Magic Kingdom bus!

97-3.jpg

98-3.jpg

Yay! It may still be kinda raining, but we were excited to be heading out to the Magic Kingdom. I’m not sure what time we ended up getting into the party, but I’m going to guess around 5:00pm, enough to get there early, but not be so crazy early that we were the only party-goers at that point, haha!

Since we were dressed up, and had some time to kill, we figured we’d head over to see our doppelgangers first, which meant being shrunk down to pixie size!

99-3.jpg

Tink was up first in her winter gear, and she definitely understood who we were supposed to be, but wasn’t really enthusiastic about it….oh well, we got the autograph and pictures anyways, lol.

Photo0484FourBySix.jpg

She did have us pose like Tinker’s though!

Photo0485FourBySix.jpg

100-3.jpg

Photo0486FourBySix.jpg

We moved on through Pixie Hollow over to Periwinkle next!

101-3.jpg

Photo0488FourBySix.jpg

Photo0489FourBySix.jpg

She asked us if the costumes were home made, I answered that mine was made out of my grad dress, but the other one was store bought, and Paige added that they were both actually mine. We had a little chat about how it was hard to do the hair for Peri, and she commented that she uses a lot of frost to help her, and I didn’t have any, so it made it more difficult.

Photo0490FourBySix.jpg

103-3.jpg

Clearly the CM’s weren’t aware of the zoom features….

Photo0491FourBySix.jpg

We said good bye to our pixie friends, and headed out of pixie hollow and headed over towards Liberty Square. Since talking to our CM friend Thomas at AoA, Paige desperately wanted to get onto Haunted Mansion and see if we could find any of the hidden Jack’s (or Sally’s).

104-3.jpg

105-3.jpg

Clearly we are pixies. The ride was good, obviously, and we didn’t find any of the hidden Jack’s! Though I have recently found out that it’s more just the “shape” of the face, so they can be really tricky to find, but I did finally spot the hidden Mickey in the ballroom plates this time! Yay! Since the party was about half an hour away when we were finished, it was back to Main Street we went, some photopasses were in order:

Photo0492FourBySix.jpg

Photo0495FourBySix.jpg

There were a few CM’s around this point that could figure out that Paige was Tink, but kept thinking that I was supposed to be Silvermist…yeah…not so much. I had to explain that the leggings had been screwed up after I painted them, but I was indeed Periwinkle. Now, this was kind of annoying, as Silvermist’s dress comes down all the way to her ankles, she has long black hair that she keeps down…oh yeah…and she’s definitely Asian….so…if any of that looks like me at MNSSHP, you’ve got me, cause I don’t see it…haha! We also heard a few Mom’s pointing out to their kids “There’s 2 Tinkerbell’s!” which obviously was more acceptable, since Secret of the Wings had yet to come out, it can’t be expected that everyone would know who Peri was.

I love love love to watch lightning and listen to thunder, and I also love to walk under pouring rain (when it's really hot), but I have to agree that it would have been scary to have all of that happening at the same time while having to walk long distances without any cover.

Very cute costumes!

Sorry to hear you got stuck in terrible weather! It happened to us more than once this last trip, and a couple of times it was pretty scary!

TH sounds like it's pretty good for lunch! I do love that place.

Cute pixies! I wonder what Tink's problem was?

I love your costumes! You and Paige looked fantastic, too bad Tink wasn't more excited to see you guys.
Oh, I hate when it's like a monsoon out. The first year my friend and I did mnsshp, it poured. We made the best of it because a rainy day in Disney is better than no Disney days lol but it was pretty yucky walking around in ankle deep water.
How did you guys get the ponchos to work with wings? I'm waiting for the weather forecast to decide what to back as a costume and I really want to be a pixie again. If I could figure out wings and a poncho in case of rain...

Wow that rain sounds seriously frightening! :crazy2:

Was Paige able to get the money back on the umbrella? That's the worst. I really hate buying umbrellas because I feel like they really just always break no matter what.

Yay Tusker House! :cheer2: As you know I'm in love with it :rotfl: so I'm glad you guys enjoyed it as well!

Glad the rain stopped by the time you were done.

YAY MNSSHP! :cheer2::cool1: You guys look AMAZING!
Grr that Tink wasn't enthusiastic but it sounds like Periwinkle was more fun!

Hahaha, the first pic has those absolutely terrifying Princess cookies. Something about them just seems "off".

I have to say, I honestly don't think I've heard Thunder like I have in Florida. It can be unbelievably intense.

Weird. Silvermist didn't even occur to me AT ALL. You are clearly Periwinkle. Stupid people.

Yay for another MNSSHP! I imagine positing these updates is making you even more excited for next month. :yay:
