Hey girl...I finally had some time to get caught up on your TR and wanted to apologize cause I haven't commented in forever...unfortunately exams and whatnot got the best of my time but I was so excited to finally have a chance to read everything that I missed.

So sorry to hear that you had to get sick on vacation....that's always the worst but luckily you were feeling better the next day.

I'm so excited for you that your trip's so close and yay for BLT...i've never stayed there or the contemporary but it looks gorgeous and i'm sure you guys are gonna love it!

Can I just say that I'm super jealous? I want to gooooo! Yall are going to have such an amazing stay at BLT. I've never stayed there or at the Contemporary, but we've been to Chef Mickey's and loved it! Jake and I walked around and it seemed like it'd be such a fun place to get to stay. Having the monorail go through the resort makes it so magical doesn't it? I'll be following along on your Twitter for all of your pictures while you're there!

I think my dream resort is the Poly. Every time we go to Disney, we have to eat at Kona and Ohana. Gah, I just love everything about it. AND BECAUSE YOU CAN GET DOLE WHIPS!

I have never stayed at BLT and I haven't stayed at the contemporary since 1986, so I'll be eagerly watching this thread and reading your TR, since we're booked for the Contemporary in Oct.

The Contemporary is my favorite resort! We used to always stay there on our family vacations when I was a kid, so to me it is quintessentially Disney. I know some people don't like it, but there is just something so special about it, maybe its the awesome mural, maybe its the monorails whooshing by, maybe its the way it smells- like bleach and syrup- that just brings me back to my childhood.

I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Congratulations on your BLT stay! That is going to be awesome! I stayed at BLT in a lake view studio in 2010. The location of the resort can't be beat. The studios are very small but I am sure that the 1BR villa is going to be wonderful.

If you click on the link to my TR "Inching My Way Closer to the Castle" you will find plenty of pics of the resort. Make sure you visit the TOWL lounge if you can sneak in there as a non DVC person. Its really an amazing view. The pool slide is pretty fun. The main lobby is lovely. Our "lake view" also gave an amazing view of the Castle. It was great. Oh - an the parasailers - so cool.

I am going to try my VERY hardest to get to the Bay Lake section of my trip report up before you go. I have 6 updates for this next day... and maybe 3 or 4 before I get to our arrival at BAY LAKE. And I'll double up on some of them when posting. I'm seriously going to try my very hardest because I want to give you at least our first impression of the resort before you go on your vacation. I think I can do it! If I do at least 2 updates a week I should get there in time! Here's hoping!

Yay for next month! I know I pretty much just got back but I am getting depressed now seeing everyone with their trip plans. I wish I knew for sure when my next trip is.

But enough whining, LOL...so I haven't stayed at BLT yet (but it's next on my DVC list!) so I can't really comment. My dad, sister, and I did go visit shortly after it opened to see what it was like. It seemed nice but my main thing with the Contemporary is that I don't think the theming is as good as some of the other resorts. Don't get me wrong, I still would love to stay there-I just prefer some of the other resorts. As for my favorite resort ever, it's definitely the Polynesian. Oh man, I just love it there and have SOOOO many memories. I'd love to be able to stay there again some day. All of the DVC resorts I've been to are awesome too. It's really hard to pick a favorite because they're all so different!

I know! It's so crazy! I'm sorry. I know exactly how you feel! I've never once left Disney with another trip planned. It's not a fun feeling!

Hahaha, whine all you want. I don't mind. I totally get what you're saying about the theming! I guess it doesn't feel as themed as some of the others considering it IS so contemporary, but that is the theming! Hahah, but I know what you're saying!

Ahh, the Polynesian. That's a good one! I've never been there before! I hope you can stay there again soon!

My favorite resort would have to be either POFQ (of course ) or the Poly! I just looooove the theming!!! It's just perfect!

Oddly enough, we've never even set foot on Contemporary property! We went through on the monorail, but that's it! So we're REALLY excited! I'm glad to hear that yall liked it there, that's so cute!

The Poly seems to be a very popular choice! It seems like an awesome place to stay! OMG YES, DOLE WHIPS. That's just genius.

One of our high school basketball players went to Lee. I believe he will graduate this year.


I hope this won't be a last family trip. As the family grows, things just get more fun!

I hope to stay at all Disney resorts eventually. We're making a pretty good dent in accomplishing that. The favorite that I have stayed at so far is Animal Kingdom Lodge, followed by Wilderness Lodge. I will have my first Beach Club stay next March, and I still very much want to stay at Polynesian Resort. Most of the time, though, we are at home at Pop and are happy to be able to be in Disney World at all.

I know nothing of BLT-except that I really love bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches. But, I'm sure that there's a thread dedicated to info about it. I read up on the CBR one before our last trip.

You may not like the values so much after your deluxe stay, you'll be used to the finer things after that. I hope that you have a fantastic trip, you deserve it!

I am so excited for you that you are going to WDW next month and that you are staying at Bay Lake Tower! You all are doing it up right! In all of the times I have gone, I have always wated to stay at the Contemporary. The thought of being able to just WALK to the Magic Kingdom is amazing! Another dream resort for me is the Beach Club and that is just because it is walking distance to Epcot. Plus, it looks so romantic. Well, I can't wait to see photos and read you TR! Also just a side note (and I hope you don't mind my throwing this in) I am working on a PTR for our Disneymoon/1st anniversary trip to WDW in September. I'd love any feedback from you (or anyone else who might read it). We leave in 111 days and I don't know if I can make it that long! LOL Thanks and I can't wait for more TRs from you!

I haven't even seen a lot of what is in your All Star Sports pics. I'm not that into sports but it still looks pretty cool. Little boys must go nuts for that place.

Ugh that refillable mug system seems so unnecessary...I'm glad they didn't install it at Art of Animation.

The Surf's Up area looks really cute! I would probably request that area if we ever stayed there. Eventually I want to stay at every Disney Resort, so hopefully we'll get the Surf's Up section.

It may have been my imagination, but I’m pretty sure she also said “HALT.”

OH, of course! My dad has stated plenty of times that he would LOVE to go back to Disney... with his future grandchildren. No pressure, or anything. Yeah, it's just that all of us are 20 and older now, so it's gotten more expensive and more difficult to go on these trips when we all can get a week off at the same time. In the future when we all have our own families, I'm thinking we'll be going many more times. I'm thinking there will be some 'grand gatherings' in our future.

I hope to do the same! AKL is one of my 'top 2' dream resorts, so I think it's awesome that yall got to stay there! As I'm sure I've mentioned, Beach Club is my absolute dream resort! I'm so excited for you that you get to stay there! I get what you mean though, Disney is magical no matter where you stay!

I'm not too terribly into sports either, but I do love going to games. I confuse even myself. But yeah, I thought it was actually a really cute resort! I would have loved to stay in the Surfs Up section but in the end it didn't really matter, we were barely in the room.

I read that they were being added so I'm really gonna need that to happen! I AGREE. I would just love for them to add in a Tangled ride or show or SOMETHING. I just want more Eugene, please and thank you.

Oh my lanta, it was so hard not to burst out laughing right in front of him! I have no idea where he came from but he somehow ended up at Magic Kingdom and I'm so glad he has brought that quote into our lives.

Chef Mickey's is a classic because of the characters and location. It's the one we tell first-timers to do, not for the food so much, but for the atmosphere.

Our friend did play ball at Lee. I looked at the current team/roster, and he is not on it, so he either graduated or quit. I put his name in the search, and it showed on the stats that he did not play much - about half the games and only a few minutes - so he may have given up. He was between my boys in age, maybe a freshman when Trent was a senior, but I am not exactly sure. His dad was killed in a 'freak' accident the first year C was at college. I think I have only seen him once since that funeral visitation, so it has been a while.

AKL was an upgrade that Jill got by renting DVC points. It was a surprise Mother's Day present to me! Our room overlooked the pool. Sitting out on the balcony in the morning was heavenly!

Grand Gatherings with a big family are a lot of fun! When we have a big group, we enjoy mixing things up and coming and going in different numbers so everyone can do what they enjoy, and then we meet together for big meals. It works perfectly. Sometimes all the guys will go off together, sometimes all the thrill ride people will go do things, sometimes the late nighters will be out together, etc. It's a nice mix of getting to spend time with different people throughout the trip.

I, unfortunately, am no help because I have never stayed at BLT or the Contemporary at all. However, I will be glad to tell you about my favorite resorts/dream resorts!

Of the resorts I've stayed in, my favorite so far has been AKL. That's also been the only deluxe resort I've stayed in, but I have a feeling I'm REALLY going to love the Beach Club! I've stayed in several of the mods: CBR, CSR, and POFQ. I love all of them. CBR has a special place in my heart because it was where we stayed on our first trip to Disney. CSR is gorgeous, but I think my favorite is definitely POFQ. John and I stayed there on our Disneymoon and loved it, and that's where I'm staying during the mother/daughter part of my trip in July!!

As for my dream resorts...hmmm...Beach Club is definitely one of them, and I think my other one is probably the Poly! John and I are planning on staying there when we go to Disney for our 5th wedding anniversary (summer of 2013). YAY!

Yeah! I bet Chef Mickey's would be a great place to go on a first visit. We're really excited about it basically being in our hotel, and it'll be a great way to kick off our trip! Plus, my mom didn't get to meet Mickey or Minnie on our last trip, so she's really excited about that!

Hahah yes! JULY. What a wondrous month! Seriously though, so many of my Dis friends are going in July! It's so exciting! I love the fact that our vacations are exactly three weeks apart, because I always know your day count is 21 lower than mine! Hahah.

Aww, Disneymoon! I've always been really interested in POFQ, a lot more so than any of the other moderates. It just seems so charming and lovely, and I went to the real French Quarter once. I think I'd really love it, so I can totally see why you do! I'm excited for you and your mom!

The Poly has been a popular answer! I hope yall can stay there for your 5th!! Aww!! On a totally unrelated note, can we please plan to go to Disney at the same time in the future? I just think that'd be awesome.

Ok, I promise not to tell anyone. We have done breakfast there & really enjoy it. The food was hot, fresh & there was a good variety. And, of course, you get to meet the Fab Five!

I hope that my future TR gives you the CR fix that you want! I hope yall can stay there sooner than later though!
