"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

I'm so sorry that you had to have such a disappointing day :sad2: It truly makes my heart hurt to hear that you couldn't enjoy the party.

That is totally crazy about the sticker story. Made me laugh :lmao: Also, it makes me wonder if they hadn't had too much egg nog with a little something.

I love hearing proposal stories. That is my absolute dream to be proposed to at Disney World, preferably in front of the castle!! :thumbsup2

I am glad to hear that you kept a positive attitude though. Excited to read your next exciting post that hopefully has no sickness!!!

Awwww, you poor thing! I'm so sorry you were so sick!

And I know just how disappointing it is not to be able to eat those cookies & drink that hot chocolate at the Christmas party. I was sick during the party we went to in 2010 & couldn't eat or drink anything.

I love Disney and get very excited about our trips. But, those ladies with the stickers were a bit ridiculous. And their ridiculousness probably didn't help you feel any better. :sad2:

I really hope you were feeling better by the next day. :goodvibes

I am so sorry that you still felt so bad! That's so sad.

I love the Rainbow Connection! I just bought the Muppet Movie for Maddie, so we sing it all the time now. It's one of her favorite songs now!

Magic, Memories, and You is such a great show. I tear up a little just thinking about it. I sure hope that you'll get a good spot to watch it on your next trip. I'd rather see that than the parade for sure.

Please tell me that in the next update you'll be feeling better!

Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that you were so sick!!! Hopefully it was just that day, and you were back to your regular Disney park touring ways the next day! How frustrating though, I don't blame you for being upset!!

Sounds like the sticker lady was having an overload of Disney magic right around then!! :wizard: That would have been awesome if the show was The Rainbow Connection themed! Or at least something in the parks should be! I watch that scene at least once a week on YouTube!

I actually think your pictures of the 2010 parade are good. I don't know what you are seeing. :rotfl:

I give you props for staying in the park as long as you did when you were sick. Wow - I would have been on the first bus out of there.

I'm glad you decided to put the bad day behind you and move on. I hope you woke up feeling good as new the next day!

That is a great parade.

Again, so sorry you had to be sick on Disney time.

If you youtube Disney proposals, there are a bunch of videos. I have had tears at many of them. ::yes::

Awww, I'm so sorry you felt sick! It really is a bummer, I wouldn't be too hard on yourself for feeling down. I've been there too! It is so hard when you've dreamed about something and looked forward to something for so long and then have something like being sick get in the way. I'm glad you felt better and was able to enjoy your last day!

Oh and how sweet about the proposal. If you are dreaming of being proposed to at Disney, I'd advise dropping lots of hints, because guys can be pretty dense sometimes. I think my DH finally figured it out, because he proposed to me during Illuminations, it was perfect! :lovestruc

so sad to be sick at disney. it was for sure going around as I'm sure you read about in other trip reports!

Aw, I'm sorry you weren't feeling well! If we would've known you were alone, you totally could have hung out with us! I see why we never met up; we were hiding in the back of the park most of the time. Because great googly moogly were there a lot of people on Main Street!

Thanks! Aww! Well I guess we didn't really 'know each other' back then though, but either way, you probably wouldn't have gotten the best impression of me that night! :rotfl: You're right, Main Street was insane! GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! :lmao:

Totally agree that Rapunzel/Flynn is the best part of the princess meet'n'greet. Not that Snow White and Aurora are bad princesses - I like Sleeping Beauty as a movie better than Tangled - but... they're BORING to meet. I mean, Phillip talked about the color pink with me! I thought he was supposed to be all snarky and dashing and really cool! For some reason, they just don't translate well into meet'n'greets.

Yeah, it was cool to see Phillip and 'snow dude' but you're right! I think you'd probably have to get the ball rolling yourself and ask about Maleficent or something, in order for him to act like that.

I do like Princess and the Frog better than Tangled, I think. I never figured out how a chameleon got to France, let alone survived for so long in the French climate. Tangled also ended up being a little more... cartoonish/uncanny valley than is my preference; I liked the Claire Keane and Lisa Keene style better. So much watercolor-y goodness!

I love Princess and the Frog too! I don't know, Tangled just really connected more with me! I just love that it has a classic Disney feel but with modern humor. Love it!

ah, being sick is so sad in general and even more so at Disney! I am hoping that the next day was so much better for you!:littleangel:

I agree! Thank you so much! I felt a million times better the next day, thankfully. I appreciate you reading along!!

Aww, you're so sweet! Thank you! I didn't mean to make you sad.

Hahaha it was insane. I have no idea! Maybe they made a pit stop at La Cava before hitting up the Christmas party! :rotfl:

MINE TOO. Oh my goodness. I just want it to come out of nowhere and catch me totally off guard! Future husbands of ours, take notes. :lmao:

I tried! NO SICKNESS! A little recovery, but no sickness!

Awwww, you poor thing! I'm so sorry you were so sick!

Aww thank you! :)

That's so sad! Isn't it stinky?? OH... hmm... when were you there in 2010?? We could have been there at the same time!

Oh yes, they were QUITE ridiculous. Hahah they didn't cure me, that's for sure!

Thank you! I WAS!

I am so sorry that you still felt so bad! That's so sad.

Thank you!

I love it too! It's such a sweet song. That's adorable!

ME TOO! Hahh such Disney saps we are. It's a priority this trip! So much so that I'm making sure we see it on the very first night (and possibly another time after that too)!

Yes! Much better! :goodvibes

Thank you! It was just that day, thank goodness! Oh thank you, I didn't want to sound immature, but I just couldn't help but be upset, ya know?

I guess so! They were just crazy. I agree, they should bring more of the Muppets to Disney! I would love it! I just re-watched all the Muppet movies recently and am currently on a bit of a Muppet high. :rotfl:

I actually think your pictures of the 2010 parade are good. I don't know what you are seeing. :rotfl:

Oh! Hahaha well thanks! I do like the first one!

Aw, thanks! Yeah, I basically was determined to have a good night regardless of being sick. I'm sure I would have REALLY regretted it if I had left!

Thank you! I felt MUCH better the next day, HALLELUJAH. :woohoo:

That is a great parade.

Again, so sorry you had to be sick on Disney time.

If you youtube Disney proposals, there are a bunch of videos. I have had tears at many of them. ::yes::

It's wonderful! It's so festive and cute.

Thank you! I appreciate it. And I promise, no more sick updates. :thumbsup2

Oh, I will definitely do that! That sounds so cute!

Thank you! Aww, thanks for understanding! You completely summed it up! I'm so glad too! I don't know what I would have done had I been sick the next day too.

Oh, I'm planning on it! :rotfl: DID HE REALLY? Wow, that's so wonderful! What a great guy!

so sad to be sick at disney. it was for sure going around as I'm sure you read about in other trip reports!

Definitely! Actually, I haven't! Wow, that's interesting!

That's so sad! Isn't it stinky?? OH... hmm... when were you there in 2010?? We could have been there at the same time!

This was Reid's 1st trip: we arrived on Thursday, Dec. 9th and left on Monday, Dec. 13th. If I remember correctly, we went to MVMCP on that Friday night (the 10th). Were you there during those dates?

Awww, that really is a bummer you were sick. :sad2: That's not fun.

I like the list of cool things you saw while you were waiting for the parade. How sweet about the proposal. Too funny about the people singing along to "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". I seem to remember people doing that when we went too, but that's what made it fun.

That's funny about the sticker people too. OK, I seriously get annoyed when people freak out over tiny little things. Like tonight at work (I'm working in retail as a seasonal job once school ends)there was this lady who freaked out when she got the bag. She was like "THIS IS SO COOL!" I mean, I guess it's good to get excited about little things sometimes but really, a shopping bag? :confused3 Sorry for that random story.

Great parade pictures! The toy soldiers are very cool. I am now singing the song in my head...(it's that very special tiiiiiiiime, and the magic that you'll fiiiiiind....hehe) Aww I love Christmas at Disney!

YES!!! Friday, December 10 is the night we went to the Christmas party that year! (We left the next day though, wahhh). That's awesome! Although... I'm sorry I just made you look at pictures from the night YOU were sick! :(

Thank you! Yeah, it wasn't fun haha. But thankfully I'm all done being a downer! My apologies once again.

Thanks! I was sitting there that night and I was like... do I REALLY want to write a trip report where I spend almost a whole day feeling like poo? How can I make this interesting? Hahaha. Seeing the proposal was awesome! Me and the lady next to me discussed how precious it was hahaha. Yeah, I thought it was cute that they were singing! I'm sure I would have been too! They were enjoying themselves!

Oh gosh, yes. I mean it's cool to be excited about things at Disney (or bags, apparently??? hahah!) but they were over the top. Like they were TRYING to be obnoxious. And by the way, I don't mind your random story at all hahah! I love random stories. :goodvibes

Aw thanks! I LOVE THEM! Hahaha I know right? I had to resist the urge to type out all the lyrics! Oh gosh I know! I want to go again this year so badly!

Ugh, I'm sorry you were sick for the party, that's awful! At least you were able to see Holiday Wishes and the parade, both of those are probably my favorite fireworks and parade that Disney does. Although the Halloween parade is pretty awesome, I'm just more of a Christmas person!

Plus, Samantha Brown taught me to always notice that they are flat in the back-because they just came off a cookie sheet! HOW PRECIOUS AND DETAIL-Y.

WHAT??? I never noticed that before, that is too cute! :lovestruc How perfect, I LOVE DISNEY!!! And Samantha Brown! I thought I've seen all of her Disney specials 1,000 times, but I never heard her mention that! When I go to the party this year, I'm going to pay attention to that!

I love the wooden soldiers, I love how they clomp down the street like that...and the reindeer! AHHH I love that parade so much!

Can't wait to hear about the next day, since you were finally feeling better!

 Again, that sucks so bad that had to happen on such a night.

I can't wait to go to MVMCP and I pray none of us is sick!

Aw, I had a trip like that once when I got sick and was so miserable, because it was right before we were supposed to leave. It felt like my trip had been ruined, but fortunately (because I was younger), my dad worked it out so we could stay longer just because I had been so upset over being sick. This was before we started going on a yearly basis with DVC. I can't wait to hear about your final day though if you turned it around. :goodvibes

OMG! I can't believe we were at the party on the same night! How crazy is that?!? I wasn't nearly as sick as you though. I just was so nauseated after eating at Casey's Corner. I tried a little bit of hot chocolate & a cookie but just couldn't stomach them. They also give out free apple juice for those that don't want hot chocolate. I have to say the juice was very yummy & actually helped me feel a little better. The real bummer of that night was that it was our 2nd night there (we did Mickey's Backyard BBQ the night before), it was Reid's 1st trip & when we got back to our room I realized I had lost my camera somewhere between MK & the resort! I cried sooooo much! I didn't care about the camera but the thought of not having those pictures of the 1st days of his 1st trip killed me. Ed ended up buying me a new fancy camera the next night. Disney even paid for a roundtrip taxi to/from Wal-Mart. Love Disney! And on our very last night......we walked into our room to find someone had turned in my camera & lost and found brought it to my room for me. pixiedust:

Who knows....we may have seen each other that night & never even knew it!

Thanks! Are they really? That's awesome! It's super hard for me to pick a favorite! Oh, I am SO much more a Christmas person. I don't even like Halloween. But I want to go to Disney in October for two reasons: 1, it's my birthday month, and 2, I love the Boo to You parade! Because "it's not so very scary!"

Isn't that awesome?? She has taught me so much about Christmassy things at Disney, she was also the one to teach me that Minnie's float in the Jingle Jungle Parade smells like hot chocolate! She's a wonderful lady hahaha.

I know! The toy soldiers are seriously my favorite part. They're amazing. I love the reindeer too! In 2010, my friend Kassandra was taking a picture of one of them, and he came right up to her camera and stuck his face in the camera. It was hilarious! Ahhh, Christmas. Ahhh, Disney.

I can't wait to talk about it because I'm so tired of being a downer! This is not what I wanted! hahaha. Thanks for sticking with me!

 Again, that sucks so bad that had to happen on such a night.

I can't wait to go to MVMCP and I pray none of us is sick!

Thank you! I know, I was thinking, If I HAD to get sick, why couldn't it happen when I got home? Sadness.

I can't wait for yall to go either. I hope yall will have a wonderful time with absolutely no sickness! :goodvibes

Aw! :( I'm sorry that happened to you. How sweet of your dad though! I'm glad yall got to stay longer! That's what I was thinking, I was just glad that I at least had one more day! And I had a great day. :goodvibes

I know! That's crazy, so awesome! AND... we ate at Casey's Corner that day too! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? Although, we ate there for lunch and BOY it was crowded! Insane!

Awww! What a sad (and awesome) story! I can totally understand why you were so upset. :sad2: I'm so glad that you got your camera back with those wonderful first trip memories!

Wouldn't that be so funny? :rotfl:

I'm so sorry you were still feeling so bad and it pretty much ruined your evening! I know we've said it a million times, but being sick at Disney is the worst! It's so frustrating. You know you should be enjoying every second, but you just can't! :(

AHH That's so cool that you saw a Disney proposal! How sweet!

I'm so glad you made the decision to make your last day a great one! :thumbsup2 That's an awesome attitude to finish your trip with!

Thanks Joni! It IS frustrating. You just have so much you COULD be doing and you just can't! Ugh. I know you understand that, with your foot issues!

It was awesome! I was like, I wonder if that girl knows how INCREDIBLY lucky she is to get engaged at the Magic Kingdom... in front of Santa Claus? I would probably die of happiness (but replace Santa with like Mickey... or Donald... or Prince Eric, although he might take some of the focus off the guy proposing). :lmao:

Thank you! I mean... I tried to be positive because you only get so many Disney trips, ya know? Luckily I was able to have a great day! AND I'm done being a downer so THAT'S good! :thumbsup2

Oh, hello there.

It occurred to me earlier that I hadn't posted the videos from Day 3 yet. I know, it's completely unacceptable. Everyone loves the videos. (Not.) ;)

But I'm posting them anyways.

Part 1!

That video includes us singing Happy Birthday to Ryan at 50's Prime Time, and a little bit of the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It Street Party from afar.

If you were wondering why we were all laughing during the song, it was because Angela was singing along, terribly (on purpose)! It was hilarious. I tried to tape her a little bit, but my camera was acting up, so I only got a split-second shot of her. If you look hard enough, you'll see her! :thumbsup2

Part 2!

Okay, so that's a cheat-vid. That's ALL from the 2010 Christmas party. I just thought it would be fun to see and that it would give a little glimpse of what the entertainment is like if you've never been to MVMCP! I apologize for the terrible sound during the fireworks, and I also apologize for being a complete dork (for your sake... I can't apologize completely for that hahaha)!

Anyways, it's clips of Holiday Wishes and the Celebrate the Season castle show! Very cute.

Part 3!

The last video contains clips from Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade! (There is also a little bit of a cheating moment- the toy soldiers segment is from 2010 as well. I just loved that part too much to not include it!)

I find it hilarious that you can tell which clips I was sick during-I'm completely silent in those. :lmao:

So there you go! And if you're reading this, I wanted to take the time to thank you all for being SO sweet about the whole being sick thing. I had been completely dreading writing about that from the moment I started the TR back in January, and it was definitely difficult to write about, but yall were all SO sweet and said the nicest things. I just really appreciate it and I'm so glad you're all my Dis friends! It really means so much to me. AND, NO MORE SICKNESS FROM THIS POINT ON! :woohoo:

Enjoy the videos! :goodvibes
