"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Hey! I took a picture with that bust this past trip! :)

Aw yay! Can't wait to see it! I wanted to but obviously never did haha.

This is the parade where Jenelle's CM friend was telling us that Ada was friends with a guy, remember? I think I could believe that though, her calfs were pretty built :lmao: <-- this guy cracks me up!

I remember her friend... but I don't remember a word she said / possibly wasn't listening in the first place because I was really starting to feel bad. But that's TOO funny. Omg. HAHAHA. (I KNOW, some of the smilies on here are hilarious!)

Haha, ok. Honest confession time. I thought you were lying about the whole ticket bit :bitelip: I thought you were using it as an excuse to go back to the room because you were sicker than you wanted to share with us, haha, aw. Now I feel bad  But for real, glad you found your ticket! Sheesh, that would've NOT been cool.

OMG! AMANDA! Are you serious?!?! Okay yeah you're gonna need to spread the word hahah. Everything I told you about what happened was completely true. The first time I was only sick the one time. The second time was more... intense? Hence the reason I was basically alone for an entire day. :( Despite what yall may think, that wasn't the way I was wanting to spend my Disney trip.

:lmao: That's the worst to think you're missing something and then to find it, but not when you're expecting to! When I was reading your update on the ticket, I was thinking "she's got it in her bag, I just know it". Isn't it funny how that works?

You always go in the Magic Kingdom on the left? I always go in on the right. Never change really, unless I am forced to. I look at it like driving. We drive on the right side.....we walk on the right side. We can be goobers together! :rotfl: Except we'll be on opposite sides of the Magic Kingdom entrance....:rotfl2:

Wow, did I fall behind or what?!?!? But I just made my way through all the updates I missed. Here we go:

I loved, loved, LOVED your description of Ellen at Epcot. I've never been on that ride either. I've just never been SOOOOOOO bored at Epcot that's I felt the inclination to try it. But your description makes it sound kinda cute, so maybe I will give it a try on one of my upcoming trips. :thumbsup2

That pink Mickey shirt is so freakin' adorable! And nice work doing all your shopping with the 20-percent off coupon. :worship:

Your lunch at 50s Primtetime Cafe looked super yummy (the brownie sundae is one of my favorite desserts in the World), but I wish your tummy could handle it better (as someone who has Crohn's Disease, I completely understand how much it blows to have an uncooperative stomach). We went to Sci-Fi on our last two trips (both times with little boys in tow), but 50sPTC is on our must-do list for October!

That sucks that you forgot your ticket was in your wallet the whole time, but maybe it was the universe's way of saying "Why are you spending your afternoon at DHS? Get thee to MK, STAT!"

The Christmas decorations at MK are just beautiful. I've been reading Jess's two Christmastime TRs and between her's and yours, it's making me want to plan a Christmas trip. I just love the way the castle looks with all of its ice lights. The funny thing is, I want to go to Disney at Christmastime and I don't even celebrate Christmas! :lmao: (I'm Jewish).

Can't wait to hear about the Christmas party. popcorn::

Yeah, EXACTLY! Hahah, where were you when I didn't look in my wallet? Come on! :rotfl:

I do! That's so funny. THAT'S SUCH A GOOD POINT THOUGH. Good logic! Hahah. Although I will say, I pretty much always go into the 'left lines' of things, probably because I'm left handed... it's a natural thing for me haha. Okay, you go in on the right, I'll go in on the left, and we'll meet in the middle. :thumbsup2

That's okay! Don't worry about it. I'm glad you're caught up now though!

Aww thanks! I personally want to try everything at Disney at least once. You might really like it! It was definitely interesting and a good 'rest' time!

I know! I love it. Thanks! Hahaha I was SO excited to use a coupon. I love shopping at Disney but I don't love the prices!

It was delicious! I just love comfort food. Aw, thanks. I wish the same thing! It was definitely a bummer. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that all the time! Yeah, you should definitely go in October! I think I'll go back to Sci-Fi before I go to 50's again, but I love them both!

You know what? I think you are exactly right!!! I needed to get out of there ASAP!

They are just completely amazing! Hahahaha that's so funny! I bet you would still love it though! It's definitely amazing to see that castle in person. The castle dream lights are very 'wintery' to me, even though they are Christmas lights. They're just beautiful!

Can't wait to hear about the Christmas party. popcorn::

Thanks for catching up!

OMG! I'm so behind!

Sorry you got sick! But, that's great that you found your ticket for the party....even if you were already on the bus. We did the party on Reid's 1st trip. I got sick from our dinner at Casey's Corner. So, I feel your pain. I couldn't even drink the hot chocolate. But, the apple juice they offer at the party is also yummy & did help me a bit.

Don't worry, you weren't too far behind at all!

Thank you! Hahaha yeah, I'm glad I found the ticket! I think mentally I needed to get out of DHS anyway so it worked out okay! OH NO! Did you really?! That's so sad. :( Oh man... I know how it is to not drink that delicious hot chocolate and eat those amazing cookies. SUCH a bummer. Glad you're caught up!

Ummm, apparently I didn't comment on your update!? I could have sworn I did, but I just can't find it! :confused3 Oh well!

So sorry you got sick! And ew in a bathroom at the park! :worried: I would NOT have been happy to get sick there!! Much rather get sick in my own bathroom thank you very much!- that is if I HAVE to get sick! (I'd rather not).... ANYWAY!

How funny about your ticket mishap! That definitely sounds like something that would happen to me. Especially not feeling well! Ugh! What a headache! :headache: At least you got to take a time-out from the parks a bit to mend your tummy!!

Oh wow, I just love Christmas at the MK! Soooo pretty!! Can't wait to hear about the party! :goodvibes

love the Minnie ears!!::yes:: i have the same ones, the only thing is the bow always falls down:(

Just joined in on your TR. Spent the afternoon reading it! LOVE your enthusiasm! :woohoo:Looking forward to future updates! :thumbsup2

Oh no i reached the end! I'm a new DISer and this is the first trip report I've read. Despite the puking, I'm enjoying it. You remind me of some people I know :)

Hahaha that's quite alright. You've commented now! :goodvibes

Thank you! Haha yeah, it definitely was not ideal. HAHAH if I could choose I think I would have chosen option number three... not getting sick at all! :lmao:

Oh my gosh I couldn't believe it. But yeah, I think I definitely needed to get out of there. I just hope that I don't think about getting sick every time I go back! That would just... not be fun. Ugh hahah.

Oh girl I'm telling you, it's completely gorgeous and the atmosphere is beyond perfect, even if you aren't feeling well! I'm basically in love!

love the Minnie ears!!::yes:: i have the same ones, the only thing is the bow always falls down:(

Thank you! Which ones do you have? I have two pairs hahaha. Oh man, that's annoying though! Thank you for reading! :goodvibes

Hahah yeah, I could have done without the puking. Thank you so much for reading and commenting! Please feel free to comment any time! :goodvibes

The One With Lots of Swooning

December 16, 2011

I made sure to check the wait times for Mickey and Minnie and the Princesses at the Town Square Theater while I was waiting for my group. The wait times looked pretty reasonable! When I finally saw my group coming in, I told them right away, and we decided to get in the line to meet the princesses! I had heard who might be in there. I knew that for the Christmas party the princesses usually greeted people with their princes in tow. I'd seen things on the DIS, but I told myself not to get too excited because I knew that things could change at any time. This was the second-to-last Christmas party of the year, so who knows what could have changed?

The wait time posted was 20 minutes. Hmm... right. Okay. I don't think so. :lmao: I'm pretty sure we waited at least an hour, but it was probably more! I'm guessing the wait time was accurate when we walked in, but it probably changed really soon after that. We wanted to stay though, especially if we were right about who was in there! The princess trivia on the walls was almost laughably easy (at least to me :rolleyes1) but it kept us occupied for a little bit.

There were so many little girls in line wearing their little princess dresses. It's just adorable seeing them so excited to meet their favorite princesses! (Sidenote: Amanda and I [and two of her sisters] went to a Disney On Ice show back in September, and the show focused on Princess and the Frog, Tangled, and Cinderella. There were SO MANY LITTLE GIRLS wearing Tiana and Rapunzel dresses and I cannot even tell you how happy it made me! I love that the new princesses are getting the love they deserve!)

Unfortunately, I started feeling bad again while we were waiting. I was hoping it was nothing. Luckily, it was almost time for us to go back into the meet and greet area! For those of you who've never been into the Town Square Theater to meet characters, when you get to the second room, they take you to the actual meet and greet room in groups. They lead you down the hall and into the princess room. I have to say, it creates an awesome build-up. We walked down the hall, went into the room, and there we saw:

Snow White and her prince, Aurora and Phillip, and...

RAPUNZEL AND EUGENE!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOSH. OMG OMG OMG OMG.

Can I just ramble on a little bit about how much I love these characters? Okay, here goes: ever since I first saw previews for this movie, I was incredibly excited. I've always had a weird fascination with the Rapunzel story, but I've never really known the real one. I know that Disney changed the 'real story' (because they always do that to fairy tales-they improve them and make them less, well, grim) but man, I don't care if that isn't the real story. It's an amazing one anyway. I saw the movie the first day it came out in theaters, and then again a couple months later before it left. I was basically in love with everything about it. The lovable characters that have depth to them, the good versus evil aspect, the wonderful music, and the fact that it can make you laugh AND cry, all add up to make a wonderful new addition to the Disney movie collection. I can't think of a better one to be the 50th animated Disney movie! To add to my obsession, I bought the DVD the first day it came out and have literally watched it at LEAST once a month since then. It has creeped into my top 2 favorites and is even giving The Little Mermaid a run for its money in my book. Oh, and please look at my birthday cake from 2011 (October 21... anyone???)

SDC12173.jpg

Sorry about the angle but it was the clearest picture I had of it, hahaha. So yes, that was the cake I had for my 23rd birthday. I literally have no shame.

Oh, and did I mention that I'm basically in love with Flynn Rider AKA Eugene Fitzherbert? Well, I am. I have a legitimate crush on an animated character. (It wouldn't be the first time either. Ahem... Eric.) Okay so let's move on and pretend I'm not out of my mind and continue on with my story. Did we forget what we were talking about for a second? Yeah, probably.

When I saw Rapunzel and Eugene, I actually squealed with excitement. I temporarily forgot about feeling sick and I just became giddy! (I'm making up for lost Disney time when I was an ACTUAL child, clearly.) We were ALL very excited!

We had to wait a little bit longer once we got into the character room, but I didn't even care anymore. It was just adorable watching all the little girls (and some little boys!) meet all the characters! AWWW. I can't wait to have kids and take them to Disney!!!!

FINALLY, we got to the front of the line!!!!!

First up: Snow White and her 'Snow Prince' (it wasn't Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, but it was still fun. ;))

Ryan and Kristen met them first. Ryan was wearing a Santa Claus outfit shirt, and Snow White told him that she liked it. He told her that the day before he had worn a shirt that said 'Santa is my Homeboy.' So naturally, Snow White wondered what a 'homeboy' was. They explained it to her, and she said,

"DOPEY! Dopey is my homeboy!!!"

:rotfl2:

Oh my hilariousness. This Snow White was amazing, by the way. She looked the part and she also was very good at the voice. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to talk in that voice all day! I don't know how you'd turn it off. 'Snow Prince' was very nice as well, but his character isn't too memorable anyway, so there wasn't much he could do with it. They were so sweet though. (Oh, and my pose was very last minute! Haha I just followed what Sally was doing.)

Snow.jpg

Next up was Aurora and Phillip! I have to say, not to be mean, but Aurora was a little dull. She was sweet, but she didn't do anything to stand out. (Has anyone ever realized that she is basically absent for most of her movie? First she's a baby, then she sings a song and meets Phillip, but then she falls asleep. HAHAH I just realized this! The fairies really make that movie what it is!) Phillip was really nice too. Amanda was really excited because Phillip has always been her favorite prince!

FINALLY... it was time to meet Rapunzel and Eugene!!!!

They were basically perfect and I loved them. Eugene was so good looking! (I have to say, he looked a lot cuter in person!)

I was basically in a daze so I can't remember a lot about what we talked about, but I do remember that he told us to keep his real name a secret. It makes him look a lot less tough. He told me to stand next to him for the picture and I gladly obliged. WHO WOULDN'T???

406806_10151077824845177_820575176_22145510_2126303262_n.jpg

PLEASE NOTE THE SMOLDER. He had a really nice smile though, so I would have been happy with either! Ew, I even LOOK sick in this picture. Hahah. Gross.

When I still had facebook, I put that picture as my profile picture. But if you know about facebook, you know that sometimes your picture gets cropped weirdly. It basically looked like a picture of Sally, Amanda, and me. And even though I love them dearly, the point of the picture was EUGENE. So I cropped it to just me and Eugene. (Rapunzel was important too, but she was all the way on the other side!)

After we met them, we were all so excited! I felt that the wait had been totally worth it. The only one I was a little disappointed with was Aurora, but I didn't even care anymore because I was on a Tangled high. When we exited, we came upon a gift shop (shocker) and I saw the Minnie Mouse antenna topper that my mom wanted! I already had one and she really wanted one too. I told my friends to go on ahead, and I bought it for her!

SDC12711.jpg

I know you all know what it looks like, but I took the picture anyway. This update is lacking in pictures unfortunately, so there you go! :rotfl:

At that point, we had to make our way down Main Street in order to do anything else. I tell you, Main Street was CROWDED. Like, if you didn't keep an eye on your group, you'd lose them. (Ahem.) Suddenly, I spotted a lone shoe. I'm not even kidding. There was one little baby shoe just sitting on top of one of the planted tree pots in Town Square. It was the weirdest thing! I felt sorry for the baby with the missing shoe! I pointed it out to Amanda, and she agreed that it was weird! So I decided to take a picture. It was obviously a really important detail that I could never forget, so of course I had to take a picture. I started digging in my bag for my camera, and I was about to take a picture when I looked up and saw exactly nobody that I knew. Um... where'd my group go??? I figured they couldn't have gotten too far, so I started looking for bright green backpacks. Nope. Nothing. They were lost in a sea of people and I couldn't find them anywhere! It was ridiculous.

I had my camera out, so I decided to take a couple (pretty bad) pictures, then I would try to find out where my group had gone!

TOY SOLDIER!!!!

(Seriously, no clue why those pictures are so bad!)

I was having no luck with the pictures, so I put my camera away and dug around for my phone. I started to dial Amanda's number, and then my sick feeling came rushing back. I had to try to find a restroom, and fast!

I was instantly relieved that I had seen that random shoe (which I NEVER GOT A PICTURE OF. I'm ridiculous!) because if I was in the middle of Main Street in a mob of people and I had gotten sick, I would have been mortified. I'm sure everyone else would have been as well.

Unfortunately, my sickness had not worn off from earlier. This time, it was worse. I decided that it had to have been more than just eating too much. I'm pretty sure I had a 24 hour bug or something, and the food just added to it. I'm just praying that this never happens AT DISNEY again!

When I emerged from the restroom, not feeling much better, the first parade was going on! I love that Christmas parade. I stood and watched it, even though I couldn't see it too well. When it was over, I decided that while I was out of the bathroom I should go into the Emporium to see if they had any special MVMCP merchandise. And they DID! I bought my very first PIN!!!! I created a monster that night, by the way. Now I want every pin I see.

SDC12693.jpg

Isn't it adorable?? I love it! If you've seen the Christmas parade, you know that Chip and Dale are building a snowman on their float. So cute! They had a lot of great options, but this one was my favorite. I just love Chip and Dale.

I wasn't feeling too much better, but there was no way I was spending $60 on a party and leaving 90 minutes into it! I had to figure out what I could do that wouldn't make me feel worse, but would allow me to stay at the party. Hmmm... what to do???

Continued in Next Update

First, I am so sorry that you were sick again :sad2: That is just terrible and one of my legitimate fears- being sick in Disney.

Second, I am SOOOOOO jealous that you got to meet Rapunzel and Flynn!!! I mean I will get to meet Rapunzel soon but not FLYNN! Ah! His smolder is great! Haha!

I hope you get to feeling better in your next update!!!

Oh also, I love your Rapunzel Birthday cake! You should see the Rapunzel one I am going to make Sam for her birthday next week. I will have to take a picture and put it on my PTR!!

UUUGgghhhh! I'm so sorry that you were sick! That's the pits.

I am so totally jealous that you met the gorgeous Eugene. Maddie would have died. And, you're not weird. When I was your age, I had a crush on Aladdin (still kinda do). The animated one, not the one at Disney. :lmao: Well, maybe we're both weird, but we're not alone.

Have you started pin trading, or are you just building a collection?

I hope that you enjoyed the party despite being sick (I just realized that this is the 3rd TR I've read in which someone got sick at either MNSSHP or MVMCP), and I hope you found your friends!

I love your pin!

I really love your birthday cake! That really is too cute.

Ugh - so sorry you got sick again. And the crowds look ridiculous. I am so glad we decided not to go to that party! That is just TOO many people. And where did all your friends disappear to?

Please feel better soon!

So jealous that you got to meet Rapunzal AND Flynn!! I hope I can drag "the boys" with me to meet them in March.

I hope you felt better the next day, but you are being a real trooper in the parks! (edit: okay, that made me sound really old! but you know what I mean)

We got to see Rapunzel and Flynn at MNSSHP. DD was so excited. We definitely waited over an hour. But it was worth it !!

I love your pin !!!

Noooo!!!!! Sickness go away!! Come again NOT IN DISNEY!!! :sad2: I am so sorry you felt so sick!

I am glad that you were able to meet Rapunzel and Flynn, though!! How cool!!! I love that you love them so much!! :rotfl2: Its so cute!!

How strange about that lost baby shoe! :guilty: How sad! :rotfl2:

OMG I'm soooo into pins now too!! :rotfl: My mom got me a couple when she went in April, and I am HOOKED! I can't wait to build my collection!! :goodvibes

YEAH for meeting Rapunzel and Flynn! I am with you, he is one of my all-time favorite characters now. :lovestruc I cannot believe they took him away from regular every day meet and greets and only have him at the special events now. So glad my sister and I waited for the two of them last year.

OMG, Snow White said Dopey is my homeboy?! That is great. :lmao:

Cute pin...my mom bought me the same one when they were visiting my sister. :)

Yay for getting to meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider!!! His smolder looks great!! :thumbsup2

Ugh, I'm sorry you got sick again! Hopefully you were feeling better soon!!
