"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Everytime I watch Mickey shoot fireworks from his fingers, it reminds me of the Disneyland Fun Sing Along! You know, at the end during "When You Wish Upon A Star" when everyone is leaving the park and he kisses Minnie and then starts shooting off fireworks!

p.s. I leave for Disney World tomorrow!!!!!

It seriously looks like you guys got amazing seats at Fantasmic! That's pretty awesome.

I've never seen it though; during our trip it was unfortunately not showing, which was kind of sad. On the same note though, we're not really big show people... but this is the one show I think I'd like to see at some point.

For some reason I'm laughing at the fireworks flying out of Mickey hands. He looks like a huge pyro in that photo, hahaha.

I am 99% sure I had a crush on Eric, too, when I was a kid. Then again, I also had a crush on Mickey Mouse, soooo there you go.

OH! One of our friends who is joining us on our next Disney trip is obsessed with Maleficent soooo maybe we'll have to see this! Though I think they show it in Disneyland so she's probably seen it already. But still good to know!

I love the end scene in your photo. Everyone seems to joyous!

SO I have no idea where you guys are going, buuuut I'm going to guess MK, just because it's my favorite park at night!

I have gotten lost in the Streets of America SO many times. There's just something about that back area of Hollywood Studios that is so complicated! :confused3

I know right? I don't understand it!

I was never there for the lighting of the lights... but I bet that the "gasp" sound is absolutely priceless. Oh my God I'm sad I missed that. :sad2:

It was so cool! I wish we would have actually seen it, but it was still cool hahah.

The pizzas come with salads there, so that's why you got one. They just messed up the type of pizza you ordered apparently.

Oh, they do? I was the only one in my group who got a salad though! Hahha that's weird!

LOL my Dad CONSTANTLY said "why do people bother taking pictures of this?! You can't even capture it!" Which I agree with... but at the same time I CAN'T STOP TAKING PICTURES OF IT! It's captivating.

Hahha yeah, exactly! And the good thing is at least when you look at the pictures, you can remember how awesome they really were!

HAHAHAHAHA That is SUCH a wonderful way of you being picked as the rebel spy. Oh my God. That's just perfect!!

I'm not gonna lie, it was the funniest thing ever. He knew what he was doing! :rotfl:

We went to the later showing of Fantasmic in August and they didn't do the wave either! I don't think they do it during the later shows or something.

OH YEAH, I totally remember you saying that now! Weird! WHAT IF I WANTED TO DO THE WAVE? Hahha guess I missed my chance!

Fantastic Fantasmic Commentary. Bravo. :cheer2:

Aww thank you so much! :cutie:

This may be your funniest update yet! Okay, where to start....

First, I love that you photobombed the family in front of y'all at Fantasmic!

Oh my gosh, that's so sweet! THANK YOU! Hahaha I just couldn't help myself with that one, I had to do it! :rotfl:

Your letter to the Native Americans is just.....splendid! I love it & I concur. I would've stayed in Englad as well....I just love their accents! I told my husband that if I were ridiculously rich, I would pay for a British person to sit with me all day & just talk. :rotfl:

Thank you! Their accents are the BEST. So swoon-worthy. HAHAH that's amazing! If I had a British accent, I would talk to you for free.

Your commentary on Fantasmic was grand....had me chuckling the whole time. I can't laugh out loud because I'm in bed & don't want to wake my husband. In all seriousness, I'm really glad you talked about the entire Fantasmic show. It is my favorite show but I haven't seen it on our last two trips since our son is little. Well, I was thinking of taking him this year. But, seeing the pictures of some of the things that go on the show has me rethinking that. My son will be 4 1/2 when we go and he can spook easily So, I may wait a little longer. :sad2:

Seriously, thanks so much! You're too sweet! It is a really fun show, isn't it? But yes, it might be a good idea to wait! Since you said he spooks easily, the entire section with the villains might not be too much fun for him. The villain segment goes on for quite awhile, too. I definitely wouldn't blame you if you waited!

Okay, I figured y'all weren't calling it a night just yet. So, I'm going to guess that y'all are going to Epcot (maybe they had EMH's.).

Nope, not just yet! WELL, yes and no. :rotfl:

OKAY and by the way, I couldn't help but notice a new ticker in your signature... I'm intrigued!

I can't help but smile really BIG :teeth: when that big white boat filled with good guys rounds the bend. The music, the characters, the whole finale makes a wonderful ending to a Disney day.

I wholeheartedly agree! The ending is definitely my favorite part. :goodvibes

I'll admit, I am not a huge Fantasmic fan (I'm sorry!), HOWEVER, I was thoroughly amused by your recap of the show! Fireworks shooting from your hands MUST be painful!

No need to be sorry! To each their own! I'm glad you liked the recap though, so thank you! Hahaha right? Poor Mickey!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays is one of the greatest holiday songs ever. Love it!

I AM IN FULL AGREEMENT WITH THAT STATEMENT! :santa:

So my favorite picture is the one of Mickey with the sword. Awesome! I am laughing at the comments about the yacht party and scarf dance. Too funny.

I love that one too! THANK YOU! Hahhha they had a good old time on that yacht!

great commentary! it was like I was at the show!

Aww, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

OKAY and by the way, I couldn't help but notice a new ticker in your signature... I'm intrigued!

Yes....I am very excited about my new ticker! I booked our 2013 vacation last week.....we will (hopefully) be sailing on the Fantasy for a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise next May. We loved our short 3 night cruise on the Dream last May & can't wait to take a long cruise on the Fantasy! :goodvibes

Also, I just started my PTR for our fall vacation this year. If you'd like to come along for all of my planning madness, the link is below:

Hooray for photobombing the unsuspecting! Imagine their surprise (and delight of course!).

I loved your Fantasmic breakdown...so funny and so good! Poor Mickey and his singed hands!

Haha, I just couldn't resist. I'm sure it WAS a delight! () Better to have me smiling in the background then someone random scowling! Hahha.

THANK YOU! So sweet! Oh I know, that poor Mickey. You'd think he'd know by now how painful it is!

I love your commentary on Fantasmic! :thumbsup2 That made me laugh so much!! :rotfl: Oooh, I can't wait to hear where you are off to next!!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it. Hahah it was somewhere AWESOME. :cool2:

Haha, love the letter to the Native Americans! I wouldn't have minded living in England either, but just think-no America, no Disney World! What would we all be doing if there were NO DISNEY WORLD???

Thanks! Oh goodness gracious, that is a terrifying thought! I COULDN'T EVER.

Moving on from that horrifying thought, I loved the Fantasmic update! I like it, but it's not something I need to do on every trip. I love the Pochahontas part, though, it's my favorite part of the whole show! I agree, it's such an underrated movie, why don't more people like it? And the soundtrack is amazing, there is not one bad song on there! :thumbsup2

Haha really, let's move on from that NIGHTMARE. Thank you! I love the Pocahontas part too, just because I love Pocahontas so much! I know right?! It's amazing. YES! The soundtrack is spectacular! I'm so glad you agree! GIVE POCAHONTAS A CHANCE YALL!

:rotfl2: What a hilarious update! Thank-you!:lmao:

We've only seen Fantasmic once, but loved it as well. I agree with yo about the walk out from there, it seems to take FOR- EVER!

Oh no no no, THANK YOU! You're too kind! Oh my gosh, yes, the walk is crazy long! :rotfl:

I read your update early this morning before I left for work and then I forgot to comment. Hate when that happens.

Oh I know, that happens to me all the time!

Your narration of Fantasmic was hysterical. :lmao: Thank you for making it so entertainment. I haven't seen it in several years and I must admit I am thinking about adding it to the June itinerary.

Thank you! I appreciate it and I mean, thank YOU for enjoying it! Oh, nice! I bet you'd get some great photos!

Fun pictures too from your great front row seats.

Thanks so much! We definitely had awesome seats! :thumbsup2

HAHAHA This update is killing me. I have been rolling around laughing for the last fifteen minutes, and John officially thinks I'm nuts. :lmao:

Oh my gosh, I can actually picture this and now I'm the one laughing. HAHAHA! He was probably like...

You're Fantasmic commentary is priceless! Absolutely perfect.

THANK YOU! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

HAHAHA omg your letter is hilarious. :rotfl: Okay so here's a funny fact, my mom's dad was a Cherokee Indian (He was pretty legit. Born on the reservation and stuff.) So she's half Native American or whatever, and you would not BELIEVE the Native American stuff she's got, like a crazy collection of stuff. Anyway, when Pocahontas came out all of her family was like, "Blah blah blah, historically innaccurate." And my mom was all, "I don't even care." So she took me to see it like three times. It was awesome! I love that movie, and I totally agree that it's underrated! Meeko is precious, Pocahontas is amazing, and the music is AWESOME!

Thanks! Dang, get it Grandpa! That's awesome! Hahaha that's so funny! Yeah, I'm kinda glad it wasn't COMPLETELY accurate because I think it would kinda suck if they had Pocahontas die... Seriously though, I'm glad your mom did take you! I saw it more than once in the theaters too, I have awesome memories of it! Did yall collect the cups from Burger King? Hahah um, YES, MEEKO! He has always been one of my very favorites! He's hilarious and adorable and I LOVE HIM. I had a stuffed animal of him, that when you squeezed his tummy, he made the Meeko noise. LOVED IT. AND, I MET HIM LAST DECEMBER (2010) AT ANIMAL KINGDOM AND WAS SO EXCITED!!!
Anyways... (hahah) I'm glad you agree because Pocahontas is awesome! We need to get more people on board with this movie!

Seriously, brilliant update! Absolutely brilliant! Bravo! :thumbsup2

Ahh thanks so much Joni! You're too kind! So glad you enjoyed it so much!

Hahaha, "my breath could melt you, beat that!" :lmao:

Hahha glad you enjoyed that!

Okay, you are so right. Pocahontas is so underated. It was the movie that I watched daily for quite a while. I just love it. And you're right, the soundtrack is the best ever. Go Pocahontas! Give her some love people.

YES. It just bothers me! I was the same way! YES, it's amazing. Seriously, every song is just brilliant. AH I want to listen to it right now! I'm so glad you agree, we need to convince people of this movie's awesomeness.

Yay! Only 3 pages behind this time!

I APPLAUD YOU!

Pizza Planet is amazing. I love everything (minus the finding a table because that's way too hard). It does feel like they kind of slapped some stuff together for the real-life-CS-version because, thinking back, it really isn't themed the way a lot of the other restaurants are.

Then again, there are usually hordes of starving tourists blocking all the views, so I guess any more stuff in there wouldn't be viewable and in the way.

Yeah, I agree. I would absolutely LOVE for it to be like the awesome movie version. That'd be amazing and I wold get soda refills just to see it come out of the alien mouths! Hahah well, when I went it wasn't busy at all (in fact we were the only people in the upstairs area!) So yeah, you're right, it isn't themed all THAT much.

That light canopy was the best part! Like the light room at the end of Spaceship Earth but it changes colors. I would've stood under there for ages but we were both grumpy and ready for dinner, so I had to leave.

I agree! I could have too, but obviously I had to go be the rebel spy so I had to bid my canopy lights a sad farewell.

DID YOU WATCH THE PREQUELS. If no -> never ever ever do. If yes -> forget they exist and watch the original trilogy 50 million times. EWOKS 4 LIFE. (But seriously, the prequels are a waste and completely wreck all of the narrative integrity of the original trilogy. ALSO Han Solo is a dork whose best plan of attack includes tapping a guy on the shoulder and running the other way. aka, the best strategist ever. That is a summary of my feelings on Star Wars).

Yes... hahha. Yeah, I definitely liked the originals better. I mean, in all honestly it doesn't really matter to me, because while I did enjoy the movies I don't think I'd watch them over and over. I'm glad I watched them once, but let's face it, I mostly did it for the sake of Star Tours. :rotfl:

YAY REBEL SPY.

I'm a rebel yall. :cool2:

Sometimes I wish the villains could win just once because a lot of them had valid complaints! And Maleficent is objectively the coolest person in that show. She deserves her chance to ~shine.

Hmmm... hmmm... I would like to hear which villains you think should win. Maleficent's a little crazy though, you have to admit. I mean like, sure, maybe she was jealous that she didn't get invited to 'the party' but her reaction was a tad strong for my liking. I mean maybe talk through your hurt feelings with all parties involved before you make a rash decision and like, decide to kill a baby who really wasn't involved. She didn't even write the guest list!

Everytime I watch Mickey shoot fireworks from his fingers, it reminds me of the Disneyland Fun Sing Along! You know, at the end during "When You Wish Upon A Star" when everyone is leaving the park and he kisses Minnie and then starts shooting off fireworks!

YES! Hmm, let's not lie about this, I watched that on youtube about two weeks ago.

p.s. I leave for Disney World tomorrow!!!!!

Oh, do you? I wasn't aware. It's not like we texted about it or anything and I know everything you're doing all weekend... hahahah. HAVE A GREAT TIME and I'm sure there'll be an update waiting for you when you get back! :cool1:

It seriously looks like you guys got amazing seats at Fantasmic! That's pretty awesome.

Our seats were awesome! It definitely pays to go to the later show (if there is one) because you don't have to wait for the show as long, and we weren't even near the front of the line! We just waltzed on down there!

I've never seen it though; during our trip it was unfortunately not showing, which was kind of sad. On the same note though, we're not really big show people... but this is the one show I think I'd like to see at some point.

Oh, it wasn't? Hmm... weird! I had forgotten that they were doing... something... with it. I would recommend it, but you probably already knew I was going to hahaha.

For some reason I'm laughing at the fireworks flying out of Mickey hands. He looks like a huge pyro in that photo, hahaha.

Oh he definitely is. Such a daredevil!

I am 99% sure I had a crush on Eric, too, when I was a kid. Then again, I also had a crush on Mickey Mouse, soooo there you go.

Hahha well, I know I did. Let's not lie about this, I still do. LOVE ERIC LOVE ERIC LOVE ERIC.

OH! One of our friends who is joining us on our next Disney trip is obsessed with Maleficent soooo maybe we'll have to see this! Though I think they show it in Disneyland so she's probably seen it already. But still good to know!

Hahha, she's obsessed with Maleficent? That's... interesting? Yeah, she probably hsa seen it. They have Fantasmic in Disneyland too. It's not an identical show because WDW's version is newer, but I do know that the whole thing with Maleficent/the dragon is still there. But yes, still good to know, for sure!

I love the end scene in your photo. Everyone seems to joyous!

It's such a happy ending, I love it! They had such a fun yacht party hahaha.

SO I have no idea where you guys are going, buuuut I'm going to guess MK, just because it's my favorite park at night!

Weeeellllll... I will go ahead and say that no, we weren't going to MK. In Nov/Dec, the late night EMH are more rare because of the Christmas parties, and there was one the night before this (Wednesday) and the night after this (Friday). So... no MK but you're in the right 'ballpark' hahah! :woohoo:

OH that's so exciting! That sounds like it would be such an awesome time!

Thanks so much for the link! I would love to join in! :yay:

Once again I was obnoxiously behind and ended up rereading parts of the TR that I had already commented on because I had no idea where I left off. But all caught up now. And of course, I have no recollection of what I wanted to comment on. Oh well, here's what I do remember.

Wish I could have seen the Dinosaur ride pic, though. I am sure it was classic.

Fantasmic...sigh. I think it will be a long, long time before I get to see that again. My little one is definitely a timid one (although you can't tell if from her poses and her character interactions) and wouldn't make it through that show.

Aww, it's okay. Hahha hopefully that re-read was able to give you a nice refresher. :rotfl:

Ugh, I know, I'm sorry! I so wanted to take a picture of it but my camera was pretty much refusing. :sad2:

That is so understandable! Aww, someday she'll love it. Until then, if you ever REALLY get the urge to watch it, there's always youtube! :thumbsup2

So if you're ready, I would ask that you please keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the trip report at all times.
Oh, and flash photography? I wouldn't. It alters the homing signal and that's not good. Now, LET'S GO GET THAT DINO! :woohoo:

I can't TELL you how much that quote made me laugh/simultaneously miss WDW more than anything in this world. Dinosaur is my FAVORITE! I am also really obsessed with the smell in the queue there...but that's not important. :rotfl: Can't wait to read through your TR! I started mine a bagillion years ago and it kinda went *wah wah* when life got busy. So I'm looking forward to having time to get my priorities straight and reacquainting myself with the Dis. :hippie:

Enjoyed the video. Nice way to start my Friday morning. :goodvibes

Aw, thanks, I'm glad! Hope you have a nice weekend!

Wow, you weren't kidding that your seats for Fantasmic were close!! :thumbsup2

Nope! Hhaah we definitely had awesome seats!

So if you're ready, I would ask that you please keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the trip report at all times.

HELLO! Hahha I'm glad you enjoyed the quote. Hahahaha you like the smell, huh? Okay you should seriously keep that TR going! I just read all you had posted so far and I really enjoyed it! Please please? Hahah anyways, thank you SO MUCH for joining in here and I hope you do enjoy it! AND WELCOME BACK TO THE DIS! :dance3:

Hello beautiful Disers!

I just wanted to do a quick little 'almost update' in regard to my upcoming summer trip, which as of today is 120 days away!!! :yay:

This TR is moving on a lot slower than I thought it would. I mean, I started on January 1st and I'm still on Day 2! No clue how that happened, BUT, now that I have another trip in the works, I think it might work out to my advantage.

I won't stretch the TR unnecessarily, (I PROMISE), but I figured when I finished with the trip updates that I'd just keep this going as an almost-PTR. I won't do the whole 'THIS IS WHAT WE'RE DOING ON THIS DAY' thing, (not that there is anything wrong with that :)) because I kind of enjoy the whole element of surprise. :rotfl:

I figured I could update every so often about random Pre-Trip stuff. That way, when I come back from the trip and start a new TR, I could just put the link up on this thread so all you lovely people could join me over there too! (That is, if you wanted to. :flower3:)

So in the meantime, I figured I could do a little introduction of my family members, who you will be reading all about if you join in the next TR!

INTRODUCING...

THE FAMILY!

These pictures are from our first trip to Disney World in June 2010!
(CANNOT believe it's almost been TWO years since then! WHERE DOES THE TIME GO??? :confused3)

First off, we have my parents...

(and Pooh bear hahah-YAY CRYSTAL PALACE!!!!) Aren't they precious?

Then there's my sister, Anna...

(She's the one in the middle.) That was taken at Coral Reef if you couldn't tell from the menu in my hands hahha.

AND LASTLY... my brother, Jacob.

IMG_2213.jpg

(Sorry for the pic quality, it's a ghetto picture off the photopass website hahah.)

Jacob is my little brother, and as you might be able to tell, he has down syndrome. He's 20 years old (shocker, I know). He's honestly one of the sweetest kids ever and I LOVE HIM. I feel so blessed that he's my brother, because let's face it, how many 20 year old guys openly admit to loving Disney so much? JACOB LOVES DISNEY. He actually calls me his 'Disney sister.' (Kid speaks the truth, yall.) The picture above was taken at Animal Kingdom on our first Disney park day EVER, and Lilo and Stitch were the first characters we met EVER! He calls the characters at the parks his Disney friends. He's SO excited to go back this summer!

Here are all the siblings waiting to go to Crystal Palace...

IMG_2167.jpg

AND lastly, here's the whole family at Epcot! (Again, sorry, it's a ghetto PP pic hahaha.)

IMG_2224.jpg

SO YEAH! That was just a little snippet of my family, and you will be seeing a lot more of them come August, if you decide to read my next TR! We're all SO excited (even my sister, who has come to her senses) and cannot wait to go! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!

As always, thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Continued in Next PTR Update

Only 120 days? You'll be doing the double-digit boogaloo in no time! In case you're not familiar with it, it looks a little like this: :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2: Family time at Disney is just the BEST!

What a lovely family you have! That's so cute that your brother calls the characters his "Disney friends"....that's what I call them, too! I'll definitely be on board for your next TR! :thumbsup2
