"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

I could not stop laughing when you said you got water in your mouth on Pirate's! Oh lord, that's something that would happen to me!

Okay, who doesn't love the Magic Carpets? I mean, seriously, you'd have to be a bitter, cynical person to not love them! Up, down, shaking, too much fun!

What a fun day at MK! :goodvibes

I have yet to watch the show at the castle. Before I had my son, my DH & I were always about rides, rides, rides. Now, I find myself wanting to watch the shows. Only problem is that my little boy doesn't want to watch them - he wants to ride, ride, ride! :rotfl:

Can't wait to see where y'all ended up next!

Wait, they're changing the name of the Flying Carpets?? To what? I didn't know that!

That's so fun that it didn't even feel like December while you were there! The warm Florida sun does have that effect! :thumbsup2

I haven't seen the Dream Along With Mickey show in awhile, but I do remember enjoying it (and you're right, it is pretty short!)

DUDE. Dude. You know how at the end of Dinosaur, there's all that red mist when you come back to the present time? I WAS LAUGHING WITH MY MOUTH OPEN AND IT GOT IN MY MOUTH AND IT WAS AWFUL

PLEASE NOTE THAT DONALD IS SHAKING HIS BOOTY FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.
AND THAT IS WHY HE IS THE BEST.

Also, a totally random question! I noticed that a lot of you are wearing glasses, so I have to ask: did any of you have trouble on some of the rougher rides? I wore contacts on my last trip so I'm sort of nervous about, like, Tower of Terror and Rock n' Rollercoaster and whatnot.

You guys seem like such an adorable and fun group! I wish all of us could just have a ~Magical Gathering~ or something and go wild.

That's really cute that Aladdin and Jasmine went on the ride before greeting people. I love when I see characters going on the rides with kids, it's always the most adorable thing ever.

I never know what to say when I meet the characters either! I usually just say I LOVE YOU or something dorky like that and they're always wonderful. 90% of them do an amazing job and always say something cute or hilarious.

I agree with you about Davy Jones, I prefer him to Blackbeard too!

Okay I'm here and I'm caught up:rotfl: What a great trip so far. Leave it to Donald to shake his tail feathers:lmao:

YES for an update! I get really excited when you post something new!!

I was so amused by the spitting camel on our trip. I loved watching it hit random people and them not having any idea what just happened. :lmao:

Okay, you totally touched upon one of my big things... BEING AWKWARD IN FRONT OF CHARACTERS! I get so nervous sometimes that I'm just going to not know what to say! I was pretty okay about it this time, but I think I'd be awkward with the face characters, just because they're like.. real people? I don't know, but I just wanted you to know that I would have been kind of panicking a little bit in line.

OMG, you are going to laugh but as soon as you mentioned that he had Aladdin's voice down... all I could think about was STEVE from Full House, because he obviously did the voice, and I just started laughing because it then led me to thinking about the Full House Disney World episode and Steve playing Aladdin.

Like you KNOW the creators of Full House were like, "Let's have Steve who voices Aladdin also play Aladdin in the parade, like a little nod to it!" :rotfl: I laugh at the dumbest things, but anyway!

I felt the same way about January as you did about December! Like, hi it's 80 out, this isn't real life.

Pirates.. Umm, that Davy Jones/Blackbeard thing was entirely GONE in January. Like, no misty waterfall thing at all anymore. I wonder if they just completely did away with it, or if it was broken while we were there. But yet you could hear his voice the whole time.. SO WEIRD. :confused3

So I think you're talking about the part when they are having a battle and they're shooting off cannons that cause the big splashes. Either way, I LAUGHED SO HARD because this is something that would happen to me! HAHAHA.. Also, they definitely have since put in the huge blasts of air that shoot into your face which was NOT something I expected since our last trip! I remember my hair blowing and me being so surprised by it.

I love the random photos. It cracks me up when I'm doing my updates and I'm puzzled by a random photo that just seems out of place or not making any sense.

LOVE Donald's dancing, and also how in one of your photos he is mid-blink so he looks half-awake. :rotfl: Meanwhile, Goofy is just completely sleeping in that photo.

I know where you are going! But only because I cheated due to your comment in my TR.

First off, I was watching Friends this afternoon, and it was the one where Joey puts on all of Chandler's clothes to get back at him for stealing his underwear? I think..I only caught the last half, BUT it's when Joey says "Look, I'm Chandler, could I *be* wearing any more clothes?!?" :rotfl: It made me think of you because none of my friends love that show like me.

Anyways, I like the new sign too which is weird because I always find myself missing the old version of things in WDW.

I have never ridden the magic carpets! I kept meaning to, but we never were in Adventureland at a good time to. Those spitting camels are just like the ones that used to be in the Aladdin parade in the 90's. They were awesome.

I am so glad you and Danielle above me mentioned being nervous with the face characters!! It's just kind of weird now that we are in our 20's I guess. Like I was never nervous when it was me and my daughter in line but the few times it was me and my younger sister I just felt nervous.
I love the movie Aladdin and totally thought he was a hottie growing up. Steve in Full House was cute too so the Full House episode was just perfect. I miss the 90s when tv sitcoms would visit WDW.

BUBBLES! My bubbles.

There was nothing showing in the waterfall when we rode POTC in January. I wonder if that was broken or of they removed it? I know exactly what part you're talking about and the cannonballs make the splash! I hate getting wet then, but I would freak out if it got in my mouth, haha! I love that ride too, and those Jack Sparrow animatronics are kinda creepy real looking.

Goofy is awesome, and I thought that castle show was really cute too! Donald is just so adorable so I love booty shaking Donald even more!

Ahhh, the Magic Kigndom! It's so beautiful!!! I love Aladdin as well! ;) He is a cutie!! HAHA  What a great stage show, I love taking the time out to watch them! I can't wait to hear about your next park of choice!! :thumbsup2

Yay! I loved this Aladdin and Jasmine! It was my first time meeting them too! I agree, he really was an amazing, youthful, and funny Aladdin. Jasmine was great and they both really worked well together.

Oh goodness, Sally's autograph book randomly making the sound at the wrong time all on its own! I had forgotten about that! It was awesome though how all the characters just played along.

Yay for POTC! I love, love, love that ride! I had a water issue too! Remember how there was a puddle in my seat after we went down the hill? It was really weird because I swear I've never really been splashed on this ride (unless I was sitting on the edge and got it when you enter the scene after the drop when a cannon ball hits the water) When we got off, I noticed a nice big wet spot on my right back pocket. Something was seriously up with that water that day, haha. Ya know I heard somewhere that the whole Blackbeard thing is only temporary and that they'll bring Davy Jones back. I hope this is true because I agree, I think Davy Jones is more fitting and makes it kinda creepy.

Finger bushes! See those Poinsetta bushes? Sally and I agreed that they looked like a finger so we had planned on taking a finger bush picture at some point. When we came across the statue of Goofy with his finger up, we decided that was a perfect time for the finger picture!

Oh my goodness, I love Dream Along with Mickey! Donald is too precious and that expression with his eyelids half-way down is one of my favorites. I remember Peter Pan looking exceptionally HOT that day!!! Ah yes, hello good lookin' ;)

Remember when we were in Hollywood Studios (notice how this is like the one time I didn't call it MGM) and we were watching the parade and Jenelle's fellow Cast Member friend was telling us some 'magical' stuff about the characters? Well one of the things she told us was how Maleficent is usually 'friends with' a guy! Yeah because she's so tall. So, that being said, I wonder if this one was a guy. Kinda looks like she could be a guy in drag, haha.

Hahaha. I know right? I was pretty much just like, yep, of course.

I agree! I love them. I would probably think they were fun if you couldn't control them!

It was definitely a fun morning... and it was only the beginning! :thumbsup2

Aww! Well, maybe on your trip you can time it perfectly so that snack time or something falls at the same time as the show! Then you could just stand there and eat your snacks and watch the show. He might love it! It's a really cute show.

Oh! Hahahah, no, they're not changing the name! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you! I was joking because I called it 'the beautiful magic carpets of beautiful Aladdin.' :rotfl:

It was perfect. It's a BEAUTIFUL thing, that Florida sun!

Aw, yeah! It's so cute, I love it! I was glad to finally be able to see it. :)

DUDE. Dude. You know how at the end of Dinosaur, there's all that red mist when you come back to the present time? I WAS LAUGHING WITH MY MOUTH OPEN AND IT GOT IN MY MOUTH AND IT WAS AWFUL

Hahaha! That's too funny. Omg, wasn't it disgusting?!

AND THAT IS WHY HE IS THE BEST.

You're EXACTLY right.

Oh man! To be honest, I never even noticed what they did! As far as I know, they didn't take off their glasses... but I honestly cannot remember! I'll have to ask them! Hahaha but you know what's weird, I never even realized how many of them had glasses until you mentioned it!

You guys seem like such an adorable and fun group! I wish all of us could just have a ~Magical Gathering~ or something and go wild.

Aw thank you! You know what? I wish the same thing! I think a big Dis trip would be the best thing ever.

I know right? It was so precious. I really wish I had a picture!

Hahaha to be honest I think I said the same thing. The best part is that they're around our age so I'm sure they don't think it's weird. Ahhh Disney.

Yeah! I want them to change it back. It just made way more sense before!

Okay I'm here and I'm caught up:rotfl: What a great trip so far. Leave it to Donald to shake his tail feathers:lmao:

Great! I'm so glad you're here and all caught up! Hahaha right? Gotta love Donald! :goodvibes

Hmmm...you know, I can usually trick him with a sweet snack! This may just work..... :lmao:

YES for an update! I get really excited when you post something new!!

AWW you're so sweet! The feeling's mutual. :goodvibes

I was so amused by the spitting camel on our trip. I loved watching it hit random people and them not having any idea what just happened. :lmao:

Hahaha oh my gosh I know. I've never been hit by THAT water hahaha!

Hahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one. I mean, the 'fuzzy' characters I have no problem with. We don't have to carry on actual conversations, so I'm cool. Hahaha luckily these were the only 'face' characters that we met that I was nervous about!

YES! Oh my gosh, yes. THAT WAS SO PERFECT. I loved that they did that. I thought about that too! Because obviously "OUR" Aladdin wasn't Steve, but he did a pretty darn good job! To be honest, I wish Scott Weigner was still young enough to play Aladdin at Disney World like for real. That would be amazing!

I felt the same way about January as you did about December! Like, hi it's 80 out, this isn't real life.

Wasn't it amazing?! Oh my gosh I love Florida. I'm sitting here and there's snow all over the place in this city and all I want is to be in Florida. Sigh.

Pirates.. Umm, that Davy Jones/Blackbeard thing was entirely GONE in January. Like, no misty waterfall thing at all anymore. I wonder if they just completely did away with it, or if it was broken while we were there. But yet you could hear his voice the whole time.. SO WEIRD. :confused3

Oh my gosh, what?! They better not be getting rid of that feature because it's amazing. Umm... MAYBE THEY'RE CHANGING IT BACK.

Well, I remember that part too and I agree, it scared the mess out of me! But the part I'm talking about was like right after the hill before you get to the actual pirates... is that a different part? I really don't remember haha. I really need to ride that more often!

I love the random photos. It cracks me up when I'm doing my updates and I'm puzzled by a random photo that just seems out of place or not making any sense.

I know! I was like well I'll just stick em on in there! I liked them too much not to include them hehehe.

LOVE Donald's dancing, and also how in one of your photos he is mid-blink so he looks half-awake. :rotfl: Meanwhile, Goofy is just completely sleeping in that photo.

Hahaha! I know. Those blinking characters really throw you for a loop. SO SILLY. We all kept getting pictures of them blinking! We said that Donald half blinking looked like he thought he was just too cool for everything.

I know where you are going! But only because I cheated due to your comment in my TR.

Hahah it's not even cheating because I told you! It's all good. :)

OMG yes! It was because Joey stole Chandler's chair, and so Chandler went and stole his underwear! So yeah! Hahaha that's the best quote ever, I love it. I love that you thought of me, aw! :goodvibes

Anyways, I like the new sign too which is weird because I always find myself missing the old version of things in WDW.

Ya know, I guess that's like, the ONE perk of me not going until I was 21, I don't remember most of Disney the way it was, so I can't miss it.

I have never ridden the magic carpets! I kept meaning to, but we never were in Adventureland at a good time to. Those spitting camels are just like the ones that used to be in the Aladdin parade in the 90's. They were awesome.

That's okay! There's still a lot of stuff I have yet to do. I remember that parade BECAUSE it was on the Disney episode of Full House and the camel spit on Danny!

I know, I was just saying, I'm glad it's not just me! I always just think about the fact that most of those people are probably around our age anyway, so they probably don't think it's weird! I know! I always loved the fact that they did that, it was so perfect! I miss that too, I wish they would send the cast of Modern Family to Disney, or something. That would be awesome.

BUBBLES! My bubbles.

Hahaha that's pretty much exactly how I felt in that moment. I was trying to pop them ALL.

Yeah, how weird! I was thinking maybe they were switching it back to Davy Jones? That would be okay with me! Oh my gosh I know, they look insanely real! So crazy.

Goofy is awesome, and I thought that castle show was really cute too! Donald is just so adorable so I love booty shaking Donald even more!

Wasn't the show cute? I loved it! Hahah I KNOW, booty shaking Donald is the best. I even caught it on video. :thumbsup2

Ahhh, the Magic Kigndom! It's so beautiful!!! I love Aladdin as well! ;) He is a cutie!! HAHA  What a great stage show, I love taking the time out to watch them! I can't wait to hear about your next park of choice!! :thumbsup2

Ya know, I have pretty much come to the conclusion that it's the greatest place ever. SO AMAZING! Hahah Aladdin's so attractive for a cartoon character! I agree! The shows really add to the whole Disney experience! :goodvibes

Yay! I loved this Aladdin and Jasmine! It was my first time meeting them too! I agree, he really was an amazing, youthful, and funny Aladdin. Jasmine was great and they both really worked well together.

YES he was perfect. Remember the Fantasmic Aladdin? "Umm... THAT is not Aladdin."

Oh goodness, Sally's autograph book randomly making the sound at the wrong time all on its own! I had forgotten about that! It was awesome though how all the characters just played along.

Hahaha I wonder if it's still randomly making noises sometimes? I know I loved the character's reactions to it. Especially Minnie!

I love it too! No, I don't remember that! I was probably too focused on this water in my mouth and didn't even realize you had a puddle in your seat! OH REALLY?!?! Well maybe I was right! Two people just told me that when they were there in January that the mist thingy wasn't even there! SO I said to them that maybe they were changing it back... and maybe it's true! Ahh that'd be great!

Finger bushes! See those Poinsetta bushes? Sally and I agreed that they looked like a finger so we had planned on taking a finger bush picture at some point. When we came across the statue of Goofy with his finger up, we decided that was a perfect time for the finger picture!

Ohhh... hahaha I was pretty much oblivious to the meaning behind the picture, I was just the photographer. Goodness, I apparently was oblivious to all kinds of stuff that morning!

Oh my goodness, I love Dream Along with Mickey! Donald is too precious and that expression with his eyelids half-way down is one of my favorites. I remember Peter Pan looking exceptionally HOT that day!!! Ah yes, hello good lookin' ;)

Hahah I know! Remember, he's just too cool for that show. Obviously. ;) Hahaha, oh, you and your Peter Pan OBSESSION.

Well, do you remember what happened to me right after that parade? Yeah, I was having some... issues... so I was only half listening to that conversation. But ummm, that's SO weird. Ew! Hahha maybe so!

Hmmm...you know, I can usually trick him with a sweet snack! This may just work..... :lmao:

Hahaha that's awesome! I hope it does work!

This is my favorite 'land' entrance. Going under the sign, across the bridge, hearing the music - it truly does serve to transport you to another time and place.

I never get tired of the castle show. I love it when we just happen by and it is going on, even if we have already seen it in whole or in part on that same day.

That's true, it really does! It's fantastic! :thumbsup2

I never get tired of the castle show. I love it when we just happen by and it is going on, even if we have already seen it in whole or in part on that same day.

It's funny, but this was the first time I'd seen any part of it! The only time I knew it was happening before was when we'd happen to see random fireworks going off! I'm glad we made it a priority on this trip, and I'll definitely be stopping to watch it again! Also, this will not be the last time you see pictures of it on this trip report! ;)

Great updates! AHHH Aladdin and Jasmine were on the carpets??? That is amazing! :lovestruc I have yet to see a character ride a ride. I'd love to see the Alice characters ride the teacups!

I've never been on the carpets, I will have to give them a try on our next trip, they look like fun!

Awww, Aladdin and Jasmine sound like they are so much fun to meet! I'm so nervous to meet any of the characters that talk, but I've read so many good things about Aladdin and Jasmine meet and greets lately, that I might give them a try! And it will be our anniversary trip, so maybe we can talk to them about that! (I'm always afraid if I meet the talking characters, my mind will go blank and I'll just be staring at them like some creepy jerk or something!)

OMG I need to meet Pirate Goofy. Brandon never wants to wait in the line for him, but I'm going to make him wait this May, I mean, how long can it take?

Ugh, I can't believe you got the water from Pirates in your mouth! That kind of happened to me, except it got on my camera, and I freaked out that my camera wasn't going to work anymore. So I guess it's not the same. Still, it was annoying! :rotfl:
