I've really been enjoying reading everyone's posts. Such great information and comraderie. I love it.
And I'm finally posting because I have a trip to plan! Myself, DH, DD3, DS1, and couple of our friends will be headed over to have a blast at DL. Can't wait. This will be our first trip with the kids and I have no idea what to expect in regards to their reactions (to characters, to finally being at Disneyland, or what rides they'll enjoy) and stamina at the parks (i hope we're still awake for the nighttime entertainment).
Maybe I should just let you guys know what we're tentatively planning, and see if anyone has comments.
We arrive on a Saturday night, but have no plans to enter the parks, since it'll be over 5 hours flying just to get there. Maybe we will try to watch the fireworks from the parking garage or the esplanade, if we are even still awake.
Sunday, will try to do the Magic Morning to get in some rides at Fantasyland. Take a midday break (gee, will i be able to pry my daughter out of there?) and after or maybe for dinner, head back to the parks for more fun and Fantasmic and Fireworks.
Monday, we have booked our first (ever!) character meal. We're doing Minnie & Friends. We're thinking about doing the world of color picnic option for this night.
Tuesday, another Magic Morning (if we're staying at GCH, and we have multi-day tickets, i'm guessing we can do more than one day?) Possibly head over to DCA for the Disney Visa meet & greet.
Wednesday, Mickey's Toowntown Morning Madness and our last day at the park.
Thursday, our second character dining -- Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast before we have to check out of GCH. Our last grasp at the magic before heading home.
We're going at the end of January - beginning February, so hopefully won't be too crowded. DD loves Tinkerbell, so we got her the videos for Christmas and I've just been dying to give them to her already. She has her Tinkerbell costume from Halloween, but hope we can find some stuff to wear underneath, since it might not be warm enough on it's own. And maybe I'll find another costume for her, so she can wear one on her first day and another on the second day when we do the character breakfast?
I do have a long list of tips and reminders, and I've been so enjoying the food p0rn posts.
I can't imagine planning a trip without this resource. Thank you all!!
