You can spit on Space Mountain from here! An April '13 TR UPDATED 10/19 p. 28

I'm here :) Sorry it took me so long to find this and comment on it, I haven't been the best DIS-er lately!

No worries, I'm just getting started here. Glad you found me!

Oh eM Gee !!! That view is the Bomb-diggity !! Now I'm jealous !! We are definitely getting theme park view next time !! Wow !!

We checked in at the BLT lobby, so I guess you can do both. They told us at the gate to go to the BLT lobby. We had the friendliest CM's there. Loved those guys.

haha, it was pretty awesome. I am glad Dad was willing to use the points to get a theme park view.

The CMs always seem to be nice. :thumbsup2

Yay, you started!! :cool1:

Love the title. :thumbsup2 That view is so amazing! What a way to spend a week in WDW. I'm glad your travel day went well. Ours typically either go perfectly smooth or horrendous! :lmao:

haha, thanks. Yes, our travel day wasn't too bad. If only our flight would've been a little bit earlier so we could've done more in WDW. :)

Hi Sarah! I'm a little late to the TR, but I just returned today from AKV :)

I just love your view, fabulous. High floors definitely have the best views, and MK right there just waiting for you to check it out. I will say you headed there first. Can't wait to hear all about the trip.

Well, welcome back! Hope you had a good time at AKV. :)

Thank you! I just could not get over our view...it was perfect!

We're staying at the Contempery for the first time this August and can't wait.

That is exciting! Hope you enjoy!

Aww, I'm glad you decided to comment this time! :thumbsup2 Please feel free to comment as much as you want. :)

That is awesome you're doing the CP! What is your role? If you have any questions I can send you the link to my sister's blog. I am sure she would be happy to answer any questions you might have too.

I'm doing attractions, which I'm super excited about. I've been dreaming of doing the CP since high school, and now that I'm graduating college I finally have a chance. I just can't wait to find out where I get placed  And I'd love a link to her blog! I don't have any questions right now, but I love looking at CP blogs :)

As for your latest update, I LOVE the Magical Express too! Best way to start a vacation! And holy cow that view is AMAZING! :cloud9:

Joining in. What a view! Do you have any pictures sitting on the balcony at night?

Oh, that is awesome! I know my sister really wanted attractions but she is still having a great time. I will send you a PM with her blog link!

I agree! And the view was the best. :cloud9:

Nope, just the main Contemporary building.

Oh, OK, that must be what I was thinking of then. I seem to remember one of your TRs where you stayed there.

Welcome! As for pictures from the balcony at night, there might be some of those coming in the next update...;)popcorn::

I'm in!! Looks like the makings of a great TR!
I am so jealous of your view!! The MK views at BLT were the only reason I would want to stay at the Contemporary, and that definitely is fantastic! So close to the magic, I would die!!!

All of the DVC resorts have their charms in terms of atmosphere, theming, and/or proximity to activities. For BLT, the ability to walk to the MK (especially helpful for those 7 AM EMH) and take the monorail to EPCOT are very appealing.

But, that view was something else again. I told the girls that it was like having a large model of the MK area and sitting and watching it function. I never tired of sitting on the balcony and watching the boats cross the lagoon to the TTC, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian, watching the monorails go by, seeing the castle, the mountains of the MK, the ships on Astro Orbiter and the cars of the Peoplemover, and even the Disney buses coming in and out of the lot.

Maybe instead of referring to spitting I should have said that I could hit a pitching wedge onto Space Mountain from the balcony of our room, but it really looked that close.

Welcome! Glad you are joining in!

Like I said, I am so glad my dad was willing to use the points for the theme park view (when we are very short on points/borrowing from the next year because of all these various trips) because at first we were going to get a lake view.

I agree. Staying at a monorail resort reminded me of when we stayed at the Polynesian. :goodvibes

As much as I enjoyed the Boardwalk view, the MK view was so much more exciting for all of the reasons you mentioned!

But "You can hit a pitching wedge onto Space Mountain" isn't as good of a title. :rotfl:

:worship: I envy the view!!!

Fantastic TR so far. I'm leaving in 4 days, 18 hours, 48 minutes, (but who's counting, really) and am soaking up all I can!! lol

That view was pretty incredible. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! That is very exciting you leave so soon! I'm jealous...have a great trip!

Hi DIS friends! Thanks again to everyone who has read/commented on my TR so far. I really enjoy reading them all. :)

I got all of my pictures uploaded for the next update so I am hoping to have that up by tomorrow (TGIF!)! But in the mean time, I thought I would share one of my videos that I took. It is actually from later in the trip, but since Dad mentioned how our view was like having our own model of the Magic Kingdom and everyone seems to love the view we had, I thought you guys might like to see it now. It really was so much fun watching all the monorails/buses/ferries go by, hearing the horns and such, and even seeing some of the rides (you could see the logs from Splash Mountain going down the mountain...and at night even see the flashes sometimes from when they take your picture, haha! And in the video you can see one of the cars from the People Mover when I zoom in!). Hope you enjoy! :)

Very cool video! That is a great view.

Did you find it noisy when you were trying to sleep?

That view is so awesome. That is it .... I'm booking one next year !!

I didn't hear anything when I was trying to sleep. Closing the balcony door seems to block the noise out. Plus, I was pretty tired by the end of our busy days.

If your mission was to make me homesick, then you have succeeded my friend.

But really. Best resort ever.

Enjoying your trip Report. I check into BLT one bedroom lake view on May 5th ! Can't wait !

What an awesome video of your view!!! It is really amazing how much you could see from your balcony!

If you've never stayed there, the hallways by the elevators of BLT have large windows with views toward both the MK and the lake. Both views are magnificent.
