Yet another Palo's question! Help!

Here is my dilemma;
We have scheduled a dolphin encounter at 4pm at Blue Lagoon and will not make it back to ship until 6ish. We are early dinner seating and so I will probably take my dd for a burger or something at Plutos. I'm hoping to also make ressie for Palo's this night and wondering realistically how long a typical dinner at Palos takes. If I made a 7pm ressie would we be done in time to go get the girls from the club and make it to the 8:30 show?

Thanks to anyone who's been there and done that!

Sounds like a great plan - don't forget that room service can be ordered for your kids - maybe while you are getting ready after your excursion. I would absolutely mention your plans to go see the show to your waitperson at Palo. They are so eager to please, that they can probably speed up the meal.

I think it would be pushing it. We just returned from the 1/10. We had dinner ressies at 6:30 and didn't leave until 9pm. We did have each course though...

another option would be to try to get a Palo's reservation at 8:00 or 8:30 and take the kids to see the show at 6:30. This is what we did with our 4 year old in September. The kids can get something quick on the way to the show, then you can drop them at the kids club and have a little time to get ready for dinner.

I think it's too much -- especially with children. You'll return to the ship around 6:00, then you'll need showers and clean clothes whether you go to dinner or the shows. I would plan on a late dinner at Palo (that sounds quite reasonable), but I don't think making it to the show is realistic.

Allow plenty of time for Palo. The idea is to have a leisurely, elegant 4- or even 5-course dinner, with drinks (if you like). When we dined at Palo, I think we where there from 8:30 until 11:00 p.m.

I'm sure that if you had 7:00 p.m. reservations and you asked the servers at Palo to get you out quickly, they would do their best to help you get out in 75 minutes. But that would be a real shame.

It doesn't matter that you have early dinner seating the rest of the nights. Here's what I would suggest...

Let's assume that there are quick showers at your dolphin encounter, and that you can get back to the ship by 6:00 p.m. Go to the 6:30 p.m. show. (You should be able to get decent seats for the 6:30 p.m. show as little as 5 minutes before it starts. The first show is not as well attended as the second show.) The show will be over around 7:30 p.m. If you have 9:00 p.m. reservations at Palo, you'll have 90 minutes between the show and Palo to make sure your girls are taken care of, and to get dressed up for dinner, with the opportunity to take a "real" shower. (Think how your hair will look after the dolphin encounter.)

I think that making the early show is realistic in this scenario.

When we last ate at Palo, we had a 6:45 reservation. We told Ivan (the manager who is WONDERFUL), that we were trying to make the 8:30 show. He and his staff did there best to help us out. We left at 8:15.

By the time we made it to the theater, seats were available, but we weren't able to sit together. I'd give yourself at least two hours for dinner at Palo if possible.
