I am hoping to get some help from my friends here on DIS. I am staying offsite for our New Years trip and our 30 day mark was tonight. I was able to book my 3 Fastpasses for the first day, but it won't let me book for any others. Does this mean I have to come back everyday for the next week? I thought that once the 30 day mark came up, we were able to book the whole week. :confused3 Am I wrong?

Correct, you need to check every day. As seeing as your first day in Disney World is 30 days away, that means your second day is 31 days. You will have to set up your fast passes day by day when each day of your trip is technically 30 days away. It's a little frustrating I know as we went through the same thing two weeks ago. But definitely keep checking those fast passes for the days you are there in case you see something better for your schedules.
Hope that helps.

The looks of it, yes it seems like off-site guests are. It was even harder to get reservations for a party of seven for A&E as well as SDMT, but I ended up getting those with serious determination. I was refreshing and checking the MDE website every hour at least.

The only thing my family is worried about is Be Our Guest Lunch & Dinner. It's been something we've wanted to do. The Lunch seems to be the issue for us, but we are going to try and get there early for it. I've not surprised my family though with finding two reservations (one party of 3 and another party of 4) 15 minutes apart on our last day for the BOG dinner. I'll be doing that our first day down there.

It's more trying to be persistent and determined for it, i guess. It's why I definitely advise all off site guest to continuously check fast pass and dinner reservations. They do appear up often.

fair enough, but if you have been booking lately ... unless the weeks right over Christmas and new years, you are booking in the lowest of low season, and if you are struggling ... what are people feeling booking in regular or high season ???

Not sure what your dates are ... but .. ugh.

It just seemed better in so very many ways when each morning every guest, on site of off was on equal footing for FPs...

Hell they can even do this online, make it available via the app ... whatever ... only make one person in the party wake up for park opening and book FPs ... or have their TAs do it ...

but ... the 60 days out lock in (or 30 off site) ... is just ... crap.

Oh trust me, i honestly miss the equal chance with FPs between onsite guests and offsite. I never had to go through such things like refreshing the website alone just for a ride or a meet and greet.

We are going to be there the 14th through the 24th of December; knowing the mad rush for the holiday week hits on the 20th-21st; and this is definitely the worst I've had to hunt for a fast pass for something.

But it most definitely is! Couldn't agree more.

Thank you so much for the responses! I wanted to make sure of what I was doing. We have a group of 6 and are going at high season, so A&E, 7DMT and BOG are going to be super tough. Persistence seems to be the key tho.

i don't get the hate for the fast pass+ i love it, whether being onsite or off, if you make the effort its a really nice feature.. i mean it takes me about 10 mins to get the selections made and I'm gong week of christmas and i booked fast passes a week ago and got time and rides i wanted. i personally hated the old fast pas system that were always out by the time i was allowed medically to go into the parks this way is more fair

I'm with you.:) But as with any system, there will be people who love it, and people who hate it.

I have to say, I would never dream of staying off site over a major holiday. I wouldn't have done it before, and with FP+ there is no way I would! Too many perks to staying at a Disney resort to turn my back on them.

This has been discussed endlessly on other threads but I can't ignore this comment. How can you possibly view the new system as being "fair"?

The old FP system offered equal access to every single guest. It didn't matter if you were staying onsite or offsite or were a local just coming for the day. Everybody was treated equally.

Now we have a very different system that gives onsite guests access 30 days before offsite guests. Plus, as this thread notes, offsite guests need to be online at midnight every night for a week in order to even have a chance at getting the most desirable FPs. Who wants to do that? And forget about it if you're a day guest who decides on the spur of the moment to visit one of the parks. You're stuck with whatever is left when you get there.

If you are staying onsite, you can make FP+ for the length of your stay, which they have record of because it is linked in your MDE.

If you are offsite, they don't have any record of how many nights you are staying.

True, but if you have a 5-day pass, they could at least let you book 5 days worth of FPs. For that matter, unless you have a non-expiring pass, all of your days must be used within 14 days so they could make that the cut-off window.

They have no way of knowing what days you are going to use that pass. Some guests don't use all of their days up in a row. Why give a larger window to make FPs than the guest really needs?

Just want to make sure you know that BOG FP+ reservations are made on a separate Web site and you have to have an onsite reservation to make them.
