YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

I still haven't tried a Dole Whip. I want DH to because I don't like pineapple and he does, but so far it hasn't worked. :confused3 Glad you enjoyed yours!
Great shot of the fireworks at the end of the show! :thumbsup2
What a hilarious time at DHS! You two are so adorable and I love all the interactions with Shelby Mayer and Dorma Nesmond.

I have no idea how to properly order a Dole Whip! When I did get one I thought it was okay but in the back of my head was unsure if I ordered it right!:rotfl2:

You have by far the best character interactions I have ever seen!

congrats on your first Dole Whip! Great choice in getting a float - my favorite is the swirl ice-cream in the pineapple juice

OMG (do the kids still say OMG?) that looks like such a hoot with the streetmosphere actors at DHS! Excellent princess wave by the way ;)

All caught up again. Your morning at MK (little tift aside) looks like a lot of fun!!! Oh what I wouldn't give for a Dole Whip. DD got a job at our little ice cream place that serves numerous flavors of soft serve ice cream. Not one of them pineapple. :sad1:

What fun you had with the Streetmosphere in both parks. I love it when the photopass folks are really into their job. You should nominate Alex for a Cast Member award on the DIS!! Send his photo into their email (or link them the video).

Mmmmmm, DOLE WHIP!!! Pineapple is my favorite fruit, so it was destined to be love at first taste when I finally had one. Glad you enjoyed your first one too! Next time, try the pineapple & vanilla swirl...you won't regret it!!!

LOVE those pics of you in the car at DHS! You and Em have the best interactions with the streetmosphere characters. :goodvibes

I'm with Em...HATED the Dole Whip. :duck:

I love how you always end up seeing the Mayor's wife.

Sorry Em couldn't get her hair cut.

You and Bo! Is Michael ever jealous? ;)

And I am not surprised that you were a one woman star in your little car ride.

I am so glad you finally tried a Dole Whip. I seem to get them more at DL than WDW, but do love them. They have them down the street from my house at a yogurt place and I stop at least once a month to have one, when I do I close my eyes and pretend I am at DL :rotfl2:

All caught up all the way back to the Rock Your Disney Side event!

Aren't Chip and Dale just the cutest! them!!!

Glad you tried your first Dole Whip, to be honest I am only in it for the pineapple juice... is that weird? I guess the Dole Whip adds a little something. :confused3

I love all of your interaction with the DHS performers! They are hilarious! Unfortunately our kids wanted nothing to do with hanging around to intereact with them on our trip, it was commando, ride touring for us! :rolleyes2

I'm so sad your trip is winding down and no YeeHa Bob yet! We had the pleasure of seeing him on our trip (to be honest we stayed at POR our first two nights for this reason), and he is FANTASTIC!! We had such a good time!

Brenda the photos of you in Shelby's little red car are just the best!!
Well done Em for documenting such a momentous occasion :-)
First Bo, then Shelby, you are a man magnet in DHS!!

Ahhh, everyone always remembers their first dole whip. It's a special right of passage inside the Magic Kingdom. :goodvibes But I was exactly you, so confused on which combo to get! It's serious business, choosing one's dole whip.

I think the pineapple flavor is not for everyone. My husband's with Em on that particular snack, does not like it at all. :confused3

Fun times in DHS! A one man parade in front of the hat sounds pretty cool to me. :thumbsup2

Hi Brenda! Popping in to get caught up and overjoyed to find that, for once, I hadn’t really fallen too far behind! :woohoo:

I was waiting on pins and needles to hear whether you liked the Dole Whip. I have never had one either, and I have not really ever had any burning desire to try one. Thinking now maybe I should rectify that…..

What an incredibly fun time with the DHS performers!!!! We stopped to watch one of their skits during our last trip and were really impressed. They really are well worth making time to enjoy. ::yes::

I'm with Em...HATED the Dole Whip. :duck:

I'm all caught up on your trip report Brenda! Finally! I got behind trying to keep up with accounting but at least I'm passing the class. Haha! I need to finish up my trip report too but I have updated it some which is a plus. I will be happy when I am finished with school altogether. But for now I'm getting excited about our upcoming trip to WDW in September. :) We have several new ADR we're trying and so I'm thinking of doing a PTR for that or just using my current TR for that. lol

I've never had a dole whip but plan on trying one this trip in September and marking that off my list. :)

We ran into Hildegard on the way so we smiled and posed.

And then we saw Bea walk up. She’s such a sweet lady.

When we posed with them in the little red car Shelby drove off while I was sitting there. I’d been starlet-napped! Em didn’t panic she did what we’d trained her to do… she took photos!

Shelby drove me around the plaza in front of the hat and announced that park guests needed to make way for the newest star of Hollywood Studios. I played along and did my best princess wave. Hey, it you are going to be a one-woman parade you may as well be friendly to the guests. He told me he was going to keep me because he loved my hair color. Such shallowness!
After he returned me he handed me his business card. I thanked him and Dorma and said they were awesome! He told Em that I smelled good and that not everyone’s mom is a looker. Ever playing the Studio Mogul part I tell ya!

We saw Hildegard or Bea or maybe someone else when we were in the secret tunnel during our KTTK tour last March. I would have preferred seeing someone like Mickey Mouse, but this character was nice, too.

Shelby is a riot. I can't remember seeing him before, but if I do I'm definitely going to stop and watch. Your ride around the plaza must have been a lot of fun. :goodvibes

Mmmm Dole Whip! Glad you tried it and like it!!

I love the shot you got of the fireworks and that it turned out the way you wanted it. Super cool!

What a fun time with the streetsmosphere characters!! I love them and never have enough time to really take it all in. I love that you got to ride in the car. princess:

Brenda - you and Em make your own magic in the parks. I swear the pixie dust just rains down on you guys! What a fun day at MK and DHS. I'm glad you enjoyed the Dole Whip, it seems to be a love it/hate it kind of snack. Can you believe that we have yet to catch any of the Citizens of Main Street or Hollywood yet? My kids are still a little scared to play with them, but I'm NOT. :thumbsup2 Maybe this next trip!

Oh my goodness it sounds like you had an absolute riot in DHS and well done for teaching Em to take photos :rotfl:

I teach her the important things you know! ;)

You guys always have the best time at HS! I have never seen any of the performers you guys run into, but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for them this summer!
If only I could train Pete to take photos like Em

I've seen the streetmosphere folks out more in the mornings but honestly I've never really checked or asked about their schedule. They are always hilarious.

Yes, ordering your first Dole Whip is serious business. But YAY a convert!!!!! Welcome to the club (finally). :cheer2:

Hmmm, is it sad that I can probably hit the firework pops now in my sleep? Pretty awesome help from the PP photog and I really like the results!

Nope I disagree. I have seen Bo with an expression of longing and sadness, so your Bo photos are completely genuine!!!

AHHHHHHHHH... OMG..... YOU GOT TO DRIVE IN THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear, these treats only happen to you. You are such royalty. :)

Yep, I am a new member of the Dole Whip fan club... although I've not had a fan encounter with that deliciousness since that first time. I just don't snack much in the parks so I don't really think about it until I'm home and dreaming about it like now.

No, not sad that you can hit the pop of fireworks without even thinking about it- THAT'S AWESOME! Just proves your extensive Disney fandom knows no bounds. :thumbsup2

Good to know Bo misses me a little.

I didn't even need to pull out my Dream Suite room key to impress Shelby into giving me a ride! :lmao: It was a seriously funny spontaneous thing.

Oh my gosh such a fun update!

I've never really paid much attention to the street performers in DHS before, but now that you say how amazing they are, i'm going to have to make time for them in January! They sound like such a hoot and look so interactive. Especially one of them taking you away in his cart :rotfl:

The street performers in DHS are the funniest of the bunch. One of the funniest moments we've seen is in the ToT dump shop. Two of the performers were putting on the ToT gift shop robes and sunglasses and trying to "dress incognito" and blend in. Too funny! I actually have a photo; although you can't tell how funny it was but....

DSC08894.jpg

:rotfl: The best Disney souvenirs.

That little girl looks seriously jealous that you are getting a ride in that car!

Yay for a Dole whip, even though it was with vanilla ice cream! :thumbsup2

Love that you got a perfectly timed picture of the fireworks in front of the castle. I always want to do that but my timing is always off. It either happens before I get my camera out or I just totally miss it altogether.

Yup - Good old Bo always has that same expression. Men!

Fun update!

I didn't notice that girl's expression before. Too funny!

I'm definitely glad that I took the Dole Whip plunge. Deciding what to order was the hardest part.

All of your photos are always so fabulous so what you do capture - you do it well!! I definitely needed help with my timing and not that I'll be able to repeat it again.

Yes, men!! :rotfl2:

I just love those street performers. They are so hysterical. Eveie got a ticket from Officer Les Manly once. Nearly died laughing. Good times!
:)

Ha ha! I love those moments! What great memories. :)

I have not relly stopped long enough on Main St or Hollywood Blvd to pay attention to the street performrs or main steet vehilces. That is one of the Goals on this trip is to slow down and really observed. And of course ride Seven Dwarfs Mine train ride.

Sounds like you'll pause just long enough on Main Street before high tailing it to New FL - which has the real prize! If you catch them performing you'll LOVE their hilarious performances.

Loved your update!

Dole Whip >>> School Bread. Or perhaps, Dole Whip schools School Bread.

Thank you for doing your research and going to great lengths to get that Dream Along with Mickey finale!

What a lot of fun you had with the characters of Main Street and Dorma and Shelby at HS. Sweet ride in a luxury golf cart with Shelby! Kudos to Em for capturing the moments.

:goodvibes

Thanks Dee! Definitely the Dole Ship was a winner, school bread did get schooled!

It was worthwhile to get the photos. All credit goes to the nice PP that will make a guest appearance in my TR the next day.

I can cross being kidnapped in DHS off my list of things to do. Those characters were awesome! I'm just glad that Em didn't skip a beat with our contingency planning - what to do if mom is suddenly caught in a moment of hilarity and unable to take photos!

How lucky that you were able to ride down Hollywood Blvd in style! My oldest daughter has the same shade of red hair as you and is always getting compliments. I tell her that blondes and brunettes are a dime a dozen. You redheads are unique!

The Citizens of Hollywood make HS for me. So entertaining!

Next time, try the pineapple soft serve with the pineapple juice instead of ice cream. It's very good.

It took me until I was in my 20s to like my hair... before that I felt cursed! I've had many compliments over the years and many people asking if it is real. Yep. Never colored it ever. Hopefully your daughter enjoys the rarity of this hair color.

I'd rather watch the Streetmosphere performers than some of the attractions in the park. (looking at you Indy show!)

I thought it was soft serve but whatever it was I really liked it. :thumbsup2

Aloha Isle needs to offer a float version with OJ. Then it would be like an orange creamsicle. Maybe that would appeal to more people. Of course the lines may be twice as long so maybe not!

The DHS performers were the best part of our morning!!

I have no idea how to properly order a Dole Whip! When I did get one I thought it was okay but in the back of my head was unsure if I ordered it right!

You have by far the best character interactions I have ever seen!

I needed a photo menu for the Dole Whip stand. Just pointing to a photo of what looked good would have taken some of the uncertainty out of choosing and re-choosing the right Dole Whip.

Thanks, it was a trip!

congrats on your first Dole Whip! Great choice in getting a float - my favorite is the swirl ice-cream in the pineapple juice

OMG (do the kids still say OMG?) that looks like such a hoot with the streetmosphere actors at DHS! Excellent princess wave by the way.

Yep, I'm a new fan of Dole Whips! I've only had the one so I need to do more research for comparison. ;)

I think, like, kids say, you know, OMG still. :p That's the appropriate exclamation. Thanks! That was only my 2nd time in WDW to use my parade wave! :rotfl2:

All caught up again. Your morning at MK (little tift aside) looks like a lot of fun!!! Oh what I wouldn't give for a Dole Whip. DD got a job at our little ice cream place that serves numerous flavors of soft serve ice cream. Not one of them pineapple.

Hi Linda! Break-up aside, it was a fun morning.

Oh man! No pineapple soft serve huh? I suppose it will have to be your special Disney thing for now.

Tell me more about how to nominate a CM. Is there an email address you can share? I'd love to do that.

I wasn't disappointed at all with my first Dole Whip experience! I'm a pineapple fan as well so it ended up being perfect. I'll have to remember your swirl advice.

Those characters were awesome!

No Dole Whip love for you?? ;) That's ok, if everyone loved them the lines would be ridiculous.

Hildegard seems to always be around when we are so that worked out well.

Em was bummed the Harmony Barbershop didn't work out but she had her hair cut a month before that so it wasn't really necessary, just a novel idea.

Ha ha! I wasn't shy about my performance being the newest starlet on Hollywood Blvd. Shelby was awesome!

I am so glad you finally tried a Dole Whip. I seem to get them more at DL than WDW, but do love them. They have them down the street from my house at a yogurt place and I stop at least once a month to have one, when I do I close my eyes and pretend I am at DL.

I've still not had a Dole Whip at DL. The lines are so long. Ahhhh at least you can dream about being in Disney with your stand-in.

All caught up all the way back to the Rock Your Disney Side event!

Aren't Chip and Dale just the cutest! love them!!!

Glad you tried your first Dole Whip, to be honest I am only in it for the pineapple juice... is that weird? I guess the Dole Whip adds a little something.

I'm so sad your trip is winding down and no YeeHa Bob yet! We had the pleasure of seeing him on our trip (to be honest we stayed at POR our first two nights for this reason), and he is FANTASTIC!! We had such a good time!

Hi there and glad to see you caught up!

Heck, if you love pineapple juice then the whip part just makes it that much better.

You don't want a revolt on your hands if everyone is not in the mood to stop the rides and watch the funny people! When my boys were little they would have been pulling and dragging us away and to get on that next ride so I get that. :)

You are keeping track of my Must Do list very well! Spoiler alert... not everything was marked off my list. That's still on my list to do sometime. (now you know how that ended up!) My friend Paula, with whom we traveled last trip, make pals with Bob and hung out there several night of their trip. they shared photos and video and his performance looks like a ton of fun.

Brenda the photos of you in Shelby's little red car are just the best!!
Well done Em for documenting such a momentous occasion :-)
First Bo, then Shelby, you are a man magnet in DHS!!

Thanks Linda! Em was trained well.

Ha ha! Shhh! We'll not share with Michael. :rotfl2:

Ahhh, everyone always remembers their first dole whip. It's a special right of passage inside the Magic Kingdom. :goodvibes But I was exactly you, so confused on which combo to get! It's serious business, choosing one's dole whip.

I think the pineapple flavor is not for everyone. My husband's with Em on that particular snack, does not like it at all. :confused3

Fun times in DHS! A one man parade in front of the hat sounds pretty cool to me.

It IS serious business! If I chose that Dole Whip wrong I may not have joined the fan club. I'll eat all the pineapple flavors and Em can keep the chocolate.

I'm picturing Landon in the car - in a car seat - waving to everyone!! That would have been too cute! :)

Hi Roni! Glad to see you dropping by. I'm struggling to keep up here with my limited time on the DIS lately... too much work and too many family events.

I'd heard the hype about the Dole Whips but I had to try it myself and weigh in on that debate. Now I can say that I'm a big fan. :thumbsup2

Absolutely! Those performers are worth even just a few minutes of your time to make you bust out laughing.

:rotfl2::rotfl: That's perfect!

I'm all caught up on your trip report Brenda! Finally! I got behind trying to keep up with accounting but at least I'm passing the class. Haha! I need to finish up my trip report too but I have updated it some which is a plus. I will be happy when I am finished with school altogether. I've never had a dole whip but plan on trying one this trip in September and marking that off my list. :)

Hi Charlotte!!! Great job on your success with your classes!! :thumbsup2 I'll have to drop by your TR and get caught up. Will you be done with school next year? September will definitely be something to look forward to for a break from your studies.

Let me know if you start a PTR for September. And you can put that Dole Whip on your Must Do list!

:goodvibes

Oh wow! That's cool. We didn't see any characters in the Utilidoors. Just a bunch of hot dog and hamburger buns piled up along with an assortment of CM that work behind the scenes.

Shelby is a new favorite of course! We've seen Dorma many times - she is sharp. She asked a group where they were traveling from and they said Brazil and she immediately launched into speaking to them in Portuguese.

Mmmm Dole Whip! Glad you tried it and like it!!

I love the shot you got of the fireworks and that it turned out the way you wanted it. Super cool!

What a fun time with the streetsmosphere characters!! I love them and never have enough time to really take it all in. I love that you got to ride in the car. princess:

Dole Whip love is pretty fabulous!

With a little coaching I was able to get that shot! I'm glad it worked out otherwise, well... I wouldn't have a story or photos to tell for that 6 minutes of our day!

The DHS characters are a show in themselves. And it's all unscripted and perfectly done!

Hi Cara! It was fun to interact with those guys.

I agree, same with the school bread and those avocado margaritas. You love it or hate it.

In a few years the kids may be character ready. If you pass them while they are out you can always pretend to tie your shoe - slowly - while you catch a few moments of their 'performance'.

Thursday August 29, 2013: Day 14, Part 5

We moved on to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid since it was blazing hot out and we needed an a/c attraction. Bonus points that we enjoy the show and I love to see the fake kiss between Eric and Ariel at the end. Ok, that’s my opinion.

DSCN2331.jpg

I was obsessed with taking photos of Ariel. She is so expressive. And I admit, I want to know the secret behind her losing her fins and gaining her legs. Disney is far too clever to make this obvious.

We next stopped by the Animation Building but there were no new characters out so we exited DHS and took a boat to YC/BC to have lunch. Our destination, Beaches and Cream. Last summer it was a no reservation restaurant so we were lucky to be seated with no wait at 2:45 in the afternoon.

My dining review is found here… where you’ll see someone get artsy with their food and another someone who didn’t particularly care for their sandwich.

Following lunch we walked to Epcot and entered via International Gateway. We posed for a few photos on the bridge near the entrance. And to show there’s no hard feelings from earlier in the day Em gave me a peck on the cheek. How sweet. (Photopass versions)

Like I’ve said before, I love the sidewalk chalk greetings in the UK. Very nice!

DSCN2518.jpg

The barges were being brought out for the evening fireworks extravaganza. This was cool since we knew that we’d be watching the show from a boat later that evening.

DSCN2521.jpg

We were headed to The Seas when we came across Snow White that was in the area. What? Wait, she hangs out in FW? I had no idea. Now, this Snow White was so peppy and chipper that she made Tigger look sedate. She kept twirling and swinging the young girl in front of us around. She wouldn’t stand still. What the heck?? I seriously thought they may need to test this gal for some performance enhancing substance! It was so darn hot to be that animated and hyper. Here’s a short video. Nonetheless, we posed and she wished us a happy ending to our trip.

DSCN2527.jpg

We proceeded to The Seas and went on Nemo and Friends.

DSCN2577.jpg

I couldn’t get Em to pose with Bruce but I wasn’t going to pass up being his next meal. After a short wait and holding a few kids up for their parents to get photos it was my turn. Again, am I the only one that has their kid wait in line to take a photo of their parent?

DSCN2585.jpg

Some interesting shark factoids:

Good to know.
DSCN2589.jpg

Not a problem with this one!
DSCN2594.jpg

We then bid farewell to Epcot for this trip and took the monorail back to the CR/BLT. Arriving back at the room we found the dreaded DME hang tag that had been left on our kitchen counter. Thank you Disney but we don’t need a reminder that our trip is drawing to a close.

Again, am I the only one that has their kid wait in line to take a photo of their parent?

I'm sure you are not! :rotfl2: Cute picture!

Ugh - the dreaded DME folder. Boo! They should just send it to your phone so you don't have to look at it.

Cute picture of you and Em on the bridge and with the super enhanced Snow White! :rolleyes2
