Yep, I took a picture of that (9100 total) COMPLETED 9/1

Off to the tree house we go to see what it would be like living on a deserted island.

We head out and make a bathroom stop and I really started to notice things going on with Gay Days that I had been warned about. Most people were there to celebrate their sexuality and that was fine. Some people were there it seemed just to make everyone look at them and they used it as an excuse to be ignorant and rude in a family park. There were quite a few times that day when I was relived that the boys didn’t understand some of the things printed on some of the red shirts in the park. Mommom Ginny actually went to a guard and complained about it. Apparently, people were coming in with a plain red shirt on and then changing into their more vulgar shirts once inside the parks. These people did a huge disservice to everyone else there and to be honest, some should have been taken out back and taught some manners.

Anyways, as much as I was ready to leave, the boys finally decided that they would both be brave and try out the Haunted Mansion. I was really pretty happy when I heard that because I had never been on it, ever! So, before we left we ran over to stand in line. 20 minute wait time wasn’t too bad, and I got to try some different setting on my camera with Big Thunder Mountain off in the distance.

It’s been 30 years in waiting, but I’m so glad we got to ride it. I really thought they did a good job. I’m sure it was just a coincidence but Nate kept asking me if any of the ghosts in the Mansion were of George, and what do you know, broke down again but this time only 10 minutes or so. Next time, no talking about George! (Who am I kidding, I’ll be trying it myself next time!)

By now we realized we were running late for dinner (always time to eat again on the dinning plan!) and personally, some of the really obnoxious people in red shirts were really getting under my skin, so on both counts we needed to get out of there ASAP! We hurried down Main Street and we saw people being cleared away form the street. Oh no, it’s time for a parade! What I saw looked more like a musical making fun of a certain kind of people, than a day at a theme park. After the streets were cleared, the music came on and immediately red shirts filled the street. Guys lifted other guys over their heads and were twirling them around. Girls were on girls shoulders doing the same. Main street turned into an impromptu musical. It was one of the craziest things I’d ever seen. I didn’t know if I should run, laugh, or hide. It’s definitely the one thing I really kick myself for not taking pictures. We tried to get past everyone as quick as we could but we were too late. The parade started right in front of us. At least the boys were entertained for a few more minutes.

At the first break in the parade we ran across the street and through the turnstiles.
Dinner tonight was at Downtown Disney so we were told the best bet would be to get on the monorail and head to the Contemporary where we can find a bus to take us Downtown. Monorail, no problem. The bus took almost 45 minutes.

Finally we got down the Captain Jacks 35 minutes after our reservation time and they were nice enough to still accept us but we would have to wait a bit for a table. Everybody was hot, tired, and cranky so I took the boys for a walk till our table was ready. Dinner was delicious and the drinks were perfect. Everything was going good till my camera battery was about to expire.

By then my batteries were just about done and the rain was just about here. We headed back to the Beach House and called it a night. Tomorrow, we will be meeting up with friends from back home for a birthday dinner surprise. There will be glider rides, fish tanks, and drinks inside pineapples…..C-ya real soon!

OMG, the red shirt made me lose my soda on my keyboard.:rotfl2: I could not stop laughing because I could see my husband doing the same exact thing.

I am a huge lurker, I love trip reports the most, but yours is one of my favorites, it must be a Delco thing. :rolleyes1 That and your mom reminds me so much of my mom with the grandkids.

I sent you a private message.....first move your soda

How cool for Nate to meet Cap'n Jack!

I too was losing it over the Fab 3 red shirt you chose to wear that day :rotfl2:

So worth the wait. I had tears in my eyes seeing your son with his hero. What a great memory for all of you. It reminds me when DS7 saw the Power Rangers for the first time. He was 3 and was speechless, excited and a little scared.

Yay am all caught up now and let me say I am loving your trip report.

You weren't kidding that there were alot of pics, but I like that because it makes the TR even more better with lots of pics :)

Your family are adorable and you look like you were having the time of your lives. I was sad to read of your fathers passing, but I am sure he is up there smiling down on you all and this trip would have made him so happy (I know I don't know you or your family so sorry if that was too personal).

You are doing great and I cannot wait to read more :)

I just love all of your pictures, they are great and really gives us a great Disney fix. The family looks great also.

it looks like we had a great time!! (And we did!) And I will back my husband up, the Pirates of the Carribean ride did break down after Nate talked about George! The Haunted Mansion did break down as well! Creepy!!!

I have a feeling he won't ever forget it

Thanks for staying on-board with us! I think that would explain just how he was feeling also. Disbelief would be another word I'd throw in there!

Thank you so much! No, you weren't too personal and thank you for that. It's funny with all the pics I have up so far, cause when I looked at how many for the next day there's only like 200 that came out decent enough to post. I was pretty disappointed with myself for only having 200 for a whole day but then I thought about it and 200 is still a lot right?:lmao: I'll try to get another update up there soon and rap this report up so I can get to the bonus section!

I just love all of your pictures, they are great and really gives us a great Disney fix. The family looks great also.

It's funny because it's kind of giving me a fix also. We really want to go back soon but money doesn't grow on trees and it's not just around the corner...... hopefully next year.
I just hope for one of two things.
1: by then Disney has new things for me to take pictures of, or
2: you guys forget what I took pictures of in this report :lmao:

I'm trying it in December... stay tuned LOL

Bonus section? Sounds intriguing :)

200 is alot, but hey you are in Disney and it is mandatory to take lots of pics :) Our first trip we used up a 2gb card and half of a 4gb (not sure what that is in photo number terms but I know it was alot).

Great update:thumbsup2

The red shirt thing is defiinately something that I could see happening to my husband, and I'm sure he would've had the same reaction you did:lmao: And the part about George......well that's just creepy:scared1:

Wow, what an amazing update:thumbsup2 Money can't buy the memories he will have of meeting his hero, it brought tears to my eyes, this is why we work so hard to take our families to this magical place:lovestruc One of my favorite memories from our 2007 was the pirate tutorial, I had never seen it and have not seen it since but I am hoping it's on when we're there this year.;)

I am so happy I actually put my cup of coffee down when you started writing of the "red" shirts...I just knew you had a red shirt on that day, and I'm sorry to say I laughed out loud. I, like you, have no problem with how people choose to live their lives, but be respectful of others, no matter who you are or what you believe in. Rude people irritate me on my best days:lmao: Sometimes though, it's just easier to walk away....

Can't wait for another update, we leave on Monday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed you will have another one up before then, however, if not, I'll just catch up when we get home.:thumbsup2

I have some pictures that were Tina took with her camera but the date was wrong for the 1st 1/2 of the week so instead of figuring out which pictures were taking on which day, I'll put them in the bonus section. Also I got the photopass CD which will definitely be there! I'm also going to try to resize a video of the pirate tutorial so there won't be 300 megs for each person to try to buffer att he same time. I have a few other ideas floating around but we'll see what happens.:goodvibes
Great update:thumbsup2

I do have a picture with me blending in with alot of other red shirts. Think I should post it? :lmao:

There is a web page I'll try to find for you if you would like. It has all the shows put on in all the parks. It's updated weekly and has the times for the tutorials.
Tina has been really putting in 100% at school so we can give the boys more memories like that. It's not exactly easy with her in school days and I work nights but in the end it will all be worth it!:thumbsup2

Should I post the red shirt pic? :lmao:
I don't want to offend anyone though
Tina can vouch for me on this, if it were 10 years ago and I were with some of my friends I would have made the news with no problem! Age, wife, and kids really changes a guy!

I'll try to get in one more this weekend but I can't guarantee anything. The weekend it looking to be BUSY as usual!

AWW the Captain Jack pictures are so adoarable!!! pirate:
nice lightning hat :thumbsup2 haha

red shirt...:lmao: defanitly somethin that would happen to my dad...and he would have the same reaction as you
