FINALLY caught up with your TR!
LOVED that movie as a kid! I purchased it on DVD not that long ago and put it on while watching my cousins (4 & 6) one night. As an adult living in an overly PC world; realized there were a couple of things that made me go

in the movie and caused me to say "yeah, ignore that. You'll learn about that when you're older" to the kids. I didn't recall any of that in the movie when
I was a kid.
I'm honestly shocked that there are parts like that! I don't remember anything like that at all! I'm thinking I'm still going to buy it on Ebay or something because the boys have to see it before they become too cool for movies like that (plus I REALLY REALLY want to see it again!)
Yes, it's FREE! I can't believe that you missed out on it,

it's a fun thing to do! But that is what next time is for - right? Do you know where to go? I think that your entire family will enjoy it.
They may enjoy it, but I'll leave it up to them. My brother and I will definitely get a kick out of it
Excellent picture!
Thanks, I really wanted some with a longer shutter speed but it just wasn't in the cards. There's always next time right?!?!?
OK, I'll bite. I'm not a fan of flash in the dark rides because it disturbs other guests trying to experience the ride. You know from my TR that I rarely use flash. Pretty much it's b/c the only photography classes I've taken have been black and white classes using SLR's (no digital) and processing my own negatives and printing my own prints in a dark room. Flash as not been allowed in those classes and I've learned to work a camera without. Even my cheap one - for the most part. Obviously, the higher quality camera the better images you can create in a dark lit area without either a flash or a tripod.
You obviously have a very strong interest in photography. Have you considered signing up for photography classes? If there is a community college located near you, check out and see what they offer. That is what I do when I have time.
Next year, if all the planets align and I find a shooting star to wish on, I'm hoping to have my first DSLR. I've really been looking at the Nikon d5000 or the d90 if the money is there. After I have a camera in hand, I really do want to take some classes. I've actually looked them up online but if I read it correctly, you bring your own camera.
I really tried to keep from using the flash but I was striking out on both of those rides and I really wanted to get some pics for the boys to remember them.
I will admit last year I had no idea you could get a decent shot without a flash, until I read your report. Now, if I have time to play with the settings a little, it seems like I get a much better picture without the flash than if I used it. Your pictures were awesome and I was shocked that they were all done with a P&S. After that I started doing some homework and actually learned how to use my bridge camera. I still don't get the 2 second delay thing you did.....I guess I just don't have the steady hands! Hopefully next year I'll have something that can handle an ISO of 3200 or so and a fast lens so the flash will stay like new
Keep up with the great report! I can't wait for the next installment.
I've got so much going on this weekend but I'll try to work on it and have a new one up soon. I still have 4 more days to get up there, plus a bonus section with photopass pictures!
