mom put on oxygen at the nursing home ...dad got call at midnight scaring the heck out of him
they think it's "just" a cold and she's off the oxygen this morning ...but in a nursing home...you know how that goes....after all she's been through it would be such a kick in the pants to have her die from pneumonia, ya know? sigh
Nurse at the home I talked to this a.m. spoke SO fast in such a heavy accent I had trouble understanding...calls and e-mails with sibs and her primary doc this morning to get the whole scoop...catch ya later...throw a little PD my way

my premium channels are back out again so the cable guy will be returning ...thats the "cable TV" guy....not to be confused with the "cable internet" guy

Just had a message from my dad that mom just has a cold and was pretty much back to her normal self by this afternoon watching her "shows" Family Feud etc
Thanks for the P & PD I do hope the weather doesn't interfere with a visit this weekend, I haven't seen them since my Dad's surgery right around new years!!

Debbie--hope your "cable guy(s)" get their act together and soon! I know how frustrating that is. What I particularly hate is when they give you a time window, and you have to take the time off from work to be there, and then they are late.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello before eating and laying down awhile. I go back to the ortho doc tomorow to see what they have to say about my shoulder and hand/wrist. Crossing fingers for a release to work a regular schedule and doing my job instead of this 2 hostess shifts a week idea they've let me do the last couple of weeks, but don't really expect that b/c the pain really isn't much better at all. I am getting a little beter at staying awake w/ the meds about half the time so that's good, I guess.
I have however discovered the world's best diet- injury. When they weighed me at my primary care doctor's office the other day I'd lost about 15 pounds since the end of October. So, that is the upside to al of it, I suppose.

A little snow here over night, not much.

Shawn still has this bug that's going around...he says. I think he's fine, cause he's eating and playingm but, he said he didn't feel well, so, the school staff said to keep him home again today.

I filed my taxes. You kow, it doesn't matter if I get a refund--I still hate filing taxes.

good morning everyone!!

so far, matthew hasn't said anything about rethinking our decision to build this home...but i think that's because of the bodily harm threat... we have our appointment sunday to kind of get things started...we're still waiting on the pre-approval stuff though.

this day pretty much sucks. matthew has to work noon to 9pm today and monday. what the heck am i gonna do for 4 hours before i have to go and pick him up? i know, you guys are thinking that it would be wonderful for 4 hours of alone time...i hate to be alone! maybe i'll surprise him and pick up the apartment so that we don't have to deal with a mess this weekend...

we're going to see the broadway production of beauty and the beast tomorrow...we're going with a fellow DISer! (disney845) she's the one that referred us to the builder for our home. we're trying really hard to build in the same addition!! anyway, we're going to the matinee showing tomorrow and then venture further into downtown for dinner (spaghetti factory) and then who knows what! it's so nice to finally find another couple interested in the same things that we are!! we all had dinner together last week and they thought matthew was a riot...he hit them with a few of our "classic" stories...they found him rather humerous...i guess that's a good thing...

well, i'll be lurking around today...have a good day!!

Good luck with the mortgage thingie Brandie. I can remember having to jump through so many hoops when we built our house .
Bad thing was, our house was almost completely built before we knew we had gotten approved. The builder kept telling us it was OK...that if it weren't, the mortgage company would have told them. Didn't make us feel any better to have this house we had to pay for and, as far as we knew, no financing. Obvioulsy, we were approved, just nobody bothered to officially tell us.

Ann--so glad your mom just has a cold and is feeling better. I agree with "how nursing homes are", having worked in one when I first graduated from nursing school. There are so many rules and regs. Sometimes, I think the familes are unnecessarily thrown into a panic over nothing, just because of all of the government regulations.

Debbie--good luck with the cable/internet thing. I know how you feel--we only have one cable company to choose from, too. And, yep--we also have the internet guy and the cable guy. Sheesh!

Methinks Teri is working/studying too much.

And Bob is...well, there there's no telling what Bob is doing. He'd better be maiking sure there's room at the Lemonade stand for me in December, though. I personally think one of those nice suites would be appropriate. After all, the boys are getting bigger, so we need more room, right?

this cable thingie makes no sense to me
My premium channels are actually back on today.
They tried to tell me that its because I have 5 TV's.....one of which is on a digital box and the cable internet and that I'm not getting enough signal....to bring in the digital premium channels.....that I may need an amplifier thingie at $55 and another $20 to install....
I know I'm NOT the only one in town with 5 TV's and cable internet.
If they tell me this I'm going to tell them to cancel my premium channels...I never watch them anyway
Then we'll see what they have to say

Still snowing, and the boys have already been outside...twice...there's a snowman outside with a broken tophat, and another one at the front of the house that already had more plows come by and throw snow around him.

I'm a bit happier than a few days ago - since the only thing I can say is frozen is the ground outside.

Poohsie, I'd consider the December thing, just to see you guys again. I was thinking about going again in December anyway, and since I really don't think there'll be a DIS Con III (call me psychic, but I'll bet there won't be a "sponsored" meet this year) , maybe we'll go a little later in the month. I'm still hoping to go in May, too, but the doggoned air fare has gone up.

Brandie, I don't even wanna THINK of how you could make him happy with a frying pan...
