Also, I am concerned that if point values go up that my 200 pts may not be very much after all is said and done.
Don't worry about the point values going up. Your 200 points points will be worth the same in 2016 as they are in 2006. Contractually, Disney can't raise the overall point rates for rooms through the years. What they CAN do and have done on occasion is raise the rate on a room during a particular season; however, when they do that, then they must correspondingly
reduce the points rate during another season. In effect, the overall point total thus remains the same.
For example, a 1BR suite at VWL currently costs 40 points a night for Sun-Thurs during the Premier season, while during the Adventure season, the same room and days only cost 22 points per night. Let's say Disney decides to bump the cost of the room during the Premier season to 42 points a night in 2008. They then have to reduce the points per night somewhere else which they could do by lowering the point value during the Adventure season to 20 points per night. This is a crude and hypothetical situation, but hopefully it illustrates the point well enough. Historically,
DVC point changes have been minor and infrequent. In fact, the points for VWL visits in 2007 are the same as they were in 2004. Now, the cash price for rooms at the various resorts
will continue to increase through the years which is one reason people opt to become DVC owners. Hope this clarifies matters for you,
