YC standard rooms sold out !

I tried to book a YC standard room for end of June- early July in 2006.
All standard rooms are already booked !
Only water view at $400 plus was available.

Has anyone else booked for the same time frame in 2006 ?

I ended up booking the BC standard room.

That's crazy, I don't understand how rooms book up over a year in advance, that can't be correct. How did you try to book it, maybe the rooms for that time period aren't in their system yet? Maybe try to get a quote from a travel agent and see what they come up with.

It's possible they are holding rooms for a large convention. Yacht Club has a convention center.

Maybe the person put 2005 in instead of 2006

I've already booked my 7 nights at YC for July 2006. It's possible.

In July '05, there is a rather large Real Estate Agent convention at the YC... perhaps they are planning on returning in '06 and put some advance holds on rooms?

Just a thought.

I'm sure it's a convention hold. I'm equally sure that rooms will open up. I've been told "no" many times, only to ultimately get the room I was originally trying to book. As long as your reservation is room only, you can keep looking right up until your vacation.

I also would EXPECT a discount on that room during that time frame, but you're not going to be able to get that this early either.
