yes but the travel size must fit into 1 , 1 quart bag per person

Does anyone really need more than that during a flight?

I'm not sure I'd want to know why someone would! :rotfl:

you wouldn't need it during a flight .you need it at the hotel. if you are there for a week can you use a 3 oz shampoo toothpaste etc for 2-4 people ?my things are all 16 oz bottles I don't use any of it on a flight and a 1 quart bag is a little bigger than a sandwich bag we need more than that, but it helps others ,just not me but I will buy water before I get on the plane

I believe each passenger can take a one quart bag filled with 3 oz shampoo, etc. rather than only 1 bag per group. So, each could have his or her own toothpaste, shampoo, and so on.

That won't get everyone through an entire week, perhaps, but it's not bad for a few days. (My 12 oz bottles of shampoo last me for 4-6 weeks, for example, so 3 oz should be plenty for a week in my case. YMMV.)

I've used travel-sized toothpaste for years. A travel-sized toothpaste tube will easily last one traveler for a week if you brush twice a day.

Of course, it won't last that long if you put it on the toothbrush in the picture-perfect way that they do it in commercials, but that is way more toothpaste than is actually necessary to brush your teeth. A smear that is about 1/8 of an inch thick is plenty.

For those of you looking, I just found 3 oz. tubes of sunscreen at Walgreen's. It's their brand and comes in various SPF levels. $2.99 ea, or 2/$5.00.

I found a few others yesterday but they were really expensive, so I feel like I hit the jackpot!

Hmmm...How about Mascara and eye makeup? :confused3 Helen

Both are fine as long as they are in the quart size baggie. One baggie per person.

If you are there for a week, why wouldn't you take the large size in your checked baggage? I can't fit a week's worth of clothes and accessories into a suitcase small enough to carry on... if you can, more power to ya!

Each person can take one quart-size bag of goodies. Simple!

I will take it all in my checked bag all 12-16 oz sizes but before this happened I always carried it on in ziplock bags in a crry on suitcase because I have had these things explode in my bags so my carry on for the family was a bag full of shampoo, lotions, gels etc all these things. I leave at 3:30 am and all is packed in a big suitcase only purse is my carry on. I will feel like I lost something. 3 oz travel size won't work for us my DD22 carry on is full of make up and hairsrays and gels but not now, she has to check it but I told her we have ins. LOL. she can't live without it I can't fit a week's worth in a carry on either it was always the breakables , medicines and those things in our carry on, my suitcase just hit the 50lb mark so I stopped packing. are you kidding my DD takes a suitcase for shoes and purses, 1 for clothes and the carry on for the really good stuff [make-up and hair products, and jewerly, that we say don't bring ]anyone with teens and young ladies knows that

You can pack such thing in your checked luggage. There are no restrictions on liquids and gels in checked luggage. Just be sure to put them inside sealed bags inside your luggage, in case of leakage.

A good idea to put such "liquid" stuff in sealed bags.. but not foolpfoof.
Mrs U had a set of nail polish and nail polish remover in her CHECKED luggage this trip. She had it in a carrying case, and then in a plastic ZIP bag. When we opened the luggage at the hotel, a strong smell of nail polish remover, then red stains all over the carrying case--which was OUT of the plastic bag. Then we found a standard printed note from the airline security saying that the luggage bag had been "searched".
In so doing they had not put the carrying case back in the plastic bag, and also didn't screw the tops of the nail polish and polish remover back on very tight. They came loose and spilled all over the carrying case.
Not a big deal--but irritating nonetheless.

Been there, done that!!!! I, too, have had that awful experience of opening my bag only to smell nail polish/or remover!!! Now, I wrap it in aluminum foil and then put it in a plastic bag. Seems it can't eat through the foil!!!

This made me laugh. DH and I like to take my nieces on trips sometimes, but we long ago drew the line on luggage excess. Not only does DH refuse to schlep it for them (we have a family rule that if you pack it, you carry it!), but part of how we manage to come up with the money to give these gifts is to keep costs DOWN; which means we don't get large rental cars. If your luggage doesn't fit in the car, we'll leave it on the curb. It is entirely possible to force them to pack light; you just have to be a heartless ogre :lmao:

The best rule to use with girls is: lay out everything you wish to take on your bed. Then put half of it back in the closet, because it isn't going. And the cardinal rule is: NO DENIM!!!

Great rules! The weight of denim adds up fast when you're packing. We travel often, so the rules are: 1 suitcase (not stuffed) and one backpack. No more. You can't safely maneuver luggage without having one hand free. I have seen more injury claims than I can tell you from people attempting to negotiate sidewalks and conveyances like escalators and moving walkways with more than one piece of rolling luggage. If you are pulling two pieces of luggage you can't hold a handrail. Once the risers on escalators separate as you ascend or descend, bags get pushed and either pull or push you off balance. I have a rolling laptop case I carry on, but once we retrieve our bags, I piggyback it on top of my suitcase as we head to the rental car garage, or what have you.

Happy Traveling! 2 more days to WDW!!!

:sunny:

For people who travel on business and normally don't check luggage, this is good news. After my DH's checked bag didn't make it home on his flight the last time he flew, he vowed to carry it on in the future and just not bring any toiletries - figuring he'd rather buy stuff upon arrival than take a chance his suitcase wouldn't arrive when he did.

I plan to take at least the quart bag of essentials in my tote bag, just in case my checked bag doesn't arrive when I do.
