Okay, I can't seem to find anything recent on this board about YSH. I'm deciding between Yachtsman and Le Cellier for next year. I've been to Le Cellier twice, but would love to try something new. Any suggestions? Any recent reviews of Yachtsman? Thanks for the help....:goodvibes

When we couldn't get into LeCellier the cast member was raving about Yachtsman. I just didn't want to use a signature dining dinner so we held out for LeCellier. You could always check out the menu at allearsnet.com.

DH and I had our anniversary dinner at YSH last July. It was FABULOUS. We have great steakhouses to compare it with in Chicago, so I believe that we know of what we speak. It was completely worth our 2TS. You won't be disappointed :goodvibes

We've never been to LeCellier, so I can't attest to it.

Good, I'm from the Chicago area, so I understand exactly!

We will be on the deluxe DDP so the 2 TS credits aren't a problem at all. I really like Le Cellier, but think that this just might be a special place to try. Any other advice?

Sorry that I didn't catch that earlier neighbor :goodvibes

In June 2008 we are doing DDDP for very reason that we can do all 2TS we care to and YSH is a for sure place that we are going back to.

DH ordered the Porterhouse and I got the Filet, I substituted potatoes, and added a different sauce. The waiter didn't blink an eye. We ordered OOP the sauteed mushrooms to go with our steaks. Next time we will order them as an appetizer course. They were wonderful and the bowl was the size of my family salad bowl. Yummo.

We had creme brulle for dessert. I could have ordered 2 they were so good.

We had a martini in the bar, prior to being seated, a bottle of wine at dinner, and a coffee and sambuca with dessert. We dropped the kids off at the WL cub's den. in 6/2008 we will leave them at the Sandcastle Club.

Because we did this 2TS without the kids, that means that the kids were 2TS's ahead of us. You can use TS for CS so, we just got the kids some to go food on our last day out that they ate in the car on the way to S. Florida.

Having done both, Yachtsman is a nicer experience all around than le Cellier. Yes, leCellier is good - Yachtsman is just better.

Thanks for all the help! I'm looking forward to trying YSH & I just love how helpful everyone is here on the DIS. :disrocks:

Thanks Cindy's Mom for the menu suggestions! I'll be leaving my kiddies with my sister for the night--and we'll make it a date night. Yay!:cheer2:

I had the best steak I've ever eaten anywhere at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I like my steaks well done, and it's sometimes difficult to get a steak to be both well done and tender. This one was cooked to perfection. You could cut it with a fork and it was done all the way through. Yum!

If I were to compare Le Cellier to Yachtsman, I would say it's similar to comparing a TS to a CS. They just aren't in the same league. I like Le Cellier, and I probably eat there more often (because of the price) but if I want the better food and experience, I'll go to Yachtsman.

We love to eat at Yachtsman Steakhouse, We try to go here every trip the food is great, It is more of an upscale restaurant, but very relaxing.

I like Yatchsman better than LeCellier! I think the food is much better and this is one restaurant we always get the Creme Brulle! Excellent Food!

Not a big fan of Yachtsman.... have been there twice and both times ordered my steak either Med rare or Med. and both times it was served black and charred on the outside and overdone inside. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable and they have a great wine list. The restaurant was very hard to find buried in the center of the Yacht Club, with no outside signs.

We always go to LeCellier on each trip, but if I had a choice, on a 2TS restaurant, I would prefer Narcosee's above all.:confused3

Another vote in favour of the Yachtsman!

My new husband and I ate there in May on our wedding trip. The service was the best we had anywhere on our extensive wedding and honeymoon tour (including Disney, Vegas and Hawaii). The food was incredibly good and although it was expensive (we weren't on the Dining Plan) it really was worth the money.

We all had different steaks, and they were easily some of the best we have had. The bread there is also outstanding - baked in a concertina shape so each roll peeled off in slices. The bread also came with roasted garlic and a separate pot of nice butter so you could choose which to use... :cool1:

The vegetable side dishes were really tasty too - I think we ordered a beans and a creamed spinach - the spinach was amazing!

I could go on, but I am making myself hungry now :lmao:

Go - you will love it!

We had dined at Le Cellier a few years ago and I liked it...thought I would go back. Then we went to YSH and no way would I go back to Le Cellier now. YSH has been amazing for us. I dined there for the 4th time this past July and it was perfect as always.

It was our anniversary and we got a free dessert and personalized menus (we did not request these).

Who says I'll be with the kiddies? After reading this thread, I want to come with! ;)

Just kidding, I'll be a good Auntie. Maybe we'll get room service! :thumbsup2

The Yachtsman Steakhouse is a more authentic style steakhouse like a Ruths Chris or Capital Grill, but without the ultra inflated prices. You enter the restaurant and across from the podium is an aging room where the steaks are cut and sliced by hand. Usually someone is there cutting them on the spot. Our service was awesome, food was awesome and if you do not like your food send it back. I realize it may seem like more trouble to send an over or under done steak back, but you are paying good money get what you paid for. IMO Le Cellier is good, but if it is a steakhouse style experience you are looking for go to the Yachtsman.

I agree with this 100%. Yachtsman is positioned as a higher end restaurant than Le Cellier is and, as a result, the food, wine list, service and experience (and, yes, the prices as well) is better there.

We ate there this past August and it was excellent. Back in 2004 we had our wedding reception dinner there.

This past trip we took DH's 2 kids (11 and 14) and they loved it too. We all had different types of steaks and potatoes and everything was perfect.

We had dinner at Yachtsman on Sunday and Le Cellier on Monday. If I had not had that wonderful meal with stellar service on Sunday I may have been more enthusiastic about my meal on Monday. My DGD was celebrating her birthday and was given her dessert with a candle and a song at YS. The staff bent over backwards to make her experience as special as the adults around us.

Monday she was not even wished a Happy Birthday. This was not an issue, just a little difference between the two restaurants.

I haven't been to Disney in a while, but for my trip in November, Yaughtsman was pretty much the only restaurant I demanded we eat at! It isn't Peter Luger, but then no restaurant is.... the steaks are still very, very good....
