Yachtsman Steakhouse

if you do not like your food send it back

You know, I know to do this. In fact I remember moaning on this board last year when I had to send my steak back at CG 3 times until it was right. But this past visit we ate at Yachtsman. Our waitress was very nice. I ordered my filet 'medium well' to which she said 'slightly pink inside?' and I nodded yes.

My steak is brought by a different person. When he placed it in front of me, he said, 'well done', . I said 'No, it is supposed to be medium well' to which he replied, 'yeah, medium well', and walked away. Sadly, he did not bother to check back and the next time we saw the waitress, the meal was over. I barely touched the steak and was never asked if it was properly cooked or not.

I was stunned that at a restaurant of this 'caliber', not one person bothered to check on the patrons and how everything was. I never even saw her in the room to grab her to complain! My lesson? Next time this happens in a very nice restaurant, I will go to the podium and ask for my server.

On the bright side, I really wanted Chateaubriand, but my husband is not that adventurous. The waitress very kindly got the chef to give me some sauce and she gave me one of those huge bowls of mushrooms. Yum. Next time I will just order the mushrooms!
 
Glad to hear the good reviews about Yachtsman. Now I'm just not sure which to order Porterhouse or Filet Mignon. Decisions...decisions...popcorn::

For us its always the filet. Very tasty.
