My husband and I just got back from Disney yesterday. We left on the 9th and returned on the 13th. I just wanted to say how much quieter the Yacht Club is than the Beach Club. We don't have kids and generally like a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. We were originally supposed to stay at the Beach Club, but once we saw how quiet the Yacht Club was and how much more responsive the staff was there (presumably because they had less people to deal with) we switched.
I was just surprised there was such a difference. The Yacht Club was almost empty in the lobby, expect for some people from a convention and the Beach Club was always teeming with people. The person at the front desk of the Yacht Club said that the Beach Club had the Villas and people would often pack A LOT of people in a room, which made the Beach Club a lot more crowded.
Overall, unless you are a family who really thrives on crowds, I would definitely choose the Yacht Club. I had to wait for 20 minutes to talk to the concierge at the Beach Club and there was never any line at the Yacht Club (plus the Yacht Club pool over on the side of the complex was always just about totally empty).
