Yacht Club refurbishment

I'm sorry your YC stay was a disappointment with the work being done on the pool. Some people stay there solely for the pool and although we thought SAB was ok during our BC stay (there are other resort pools we prefer), I too would be upset if I stayed there and had to deal with it as you did. However, on a good note, I'm glad you were happy with CL. What did you think of the lounge? YC is one of 3 deluxe resorts we haven't stayed at and are considering a CL stay there next summer, although I'm hesitant as there's no CS like that of the other deluxe resorts and I have read reports of the CL lounge being small.

I am sorry that the refurbishment ruined your stay. They schedule a major refurb of SAB every two years in January & February. It should be done within the next week or two. I would hope that you give it another try just not in Jan or Feb. We love the location and ammenities.

So does this mean that I shouldn't worry about pool refurb during our BC stay this January?!

Is the renovation work finished now? I'm going in September and I hope its finished by then! Does anyone know if there is any work scheduled for September?

I'd also like to know. Any info would be much appreciated!

The extensive project that was being done in February is now complete. It was an unexpected issue and was totally separate from the ordinary winter maintenance.

As far as I know, the entire pool is open for business.

So does this mean that I shouldn't worry about pool refurb during our BC stay this January?!

There will probably be work going on in the pool in January. At that time of year, they do routine refurbishments. One third of the pool will be closed down while it is being worked on but the rest of the pool will be open.

Yikes.. good to know- thanks! How much of an eyesore is the refurb? Is it just that part of the pool is closed or are there lots of walls, etc?

I haven't been there during that time, but I don't think it is like what is described above with all the walls. My understanding is that the entire pool is refurbed, one-third at a time. So any moment of time, 1/3 of the pool will be closed, 2/3 open. When one part is finished, they will move onto the next section.
