I called MS today to switch my October VB ressie to YC concierge. I also tried to verify that it would be a lagoon view vs a standard view. To my surprise, they said they will not guarantee a lagoon view.

Now, the only reason I'm surprised is that the DVC book lists it as "Concierge Lagoon", while at some others they don't specify a view.
For example, AKL simply says "Concierge". When I stayed there last trip I was told it says that because they can't gaurantee a Savanna view concierge room.

I also have two additional cash nights at YC concierge lagoon view, and I paid extra for the view.
If there are two different tiers for cash rates, how can it be one tier for points?

I called the YC and could not get any kind of answer from them, and I am now waiting for an email reply from MS.

Does this sound right to you?

Thanx, MG

No it doesn't. Maybe you should put a post up on the resort board where there are disers with serious concierge experience. They can probably tell better if there are two different views.

Good luck.

Thanx, HBC. I do know that there are two different views. At first we had our cash ressies booked as "standard view concierge", and we later upgraded to "water view concierge".... Of course, the upgrade was $50 per night...

We stayed Yacht Club concierge last Nov. and at that time there was two views with different room rates. I would think if you are paying for the better view that they would not move you to a lesser room on the points part of your stay. Hope not anyway.

I hope you get the best room with the best view!

Thanx! I was actually on the horn with MS when this thread popped back up.
MS once again insisted that views are not guaranteed. I politely pointed them to the 2004-2005 Vacation Planner, page 16. That left her speechless, and now I am waiting for a call from a supervisor.

I am not trying to be difficult, nor am I trying to be a whiner. I am simply trying to get what I am entitled to according to DVC's own book. :(

Hey Maistre Gracey,
I've stayed Yacht Club concierge on points and had this same question. It is definitely "guaranteed" at the Yacht Club. When you reserve using your points it is most certainly Lagoon View and I think that is exactly what the supervisor will tell you.;

It was a wonderful experience and one of the best views I have ever had at WDW. I think you will enjoy it. The damage from the latest hurricane isn't too bad over there is it? I heard they relocated some folks from there to the Beach Club I think? Might want to ask about that. I don't know if that will affect the number of Lagoon view rooms available..

That sounds fair to me!
Did you get a call back yet?

:sunny:

Okay, a supervisor from MS just called me back with good news!
I am booked in a guaranteed lagoon view room. The reason the DVC computer leaves an option, is because the garden views can accommodate five people, and the lagoon view only four.
So, it sounded as though if you have four or less in your party, you will get a lagoon view.
I do think it is nice to keep the garden view as an option in the computer, in case you have a fifth person.

So, mystery solved.
Thanx everyone! :D

Uh..MG - I hate to jump in here again but we are a"Party of Five" and we had a guaranteed Lagoon View room. Daybed and all. Sounds to me like somebody over there needs to get their story straight.

I'm glad it's not an issue for you though and I wish you a great trip after everything going on at VB.

OH NO!!! Just when I thought I had cracked the case! :teeth:
Could it be they did some furniture rearranging, and moved the day beds to garden view rooms?
Perhaps they just booked me that way because I noticed it in the book, and pushed the issue?
Oh well, I guess the important thing is that we will have our lagoon view room.

PS- The supervisor did mention that there was a change taking place next year that relates to YC concierge room views, when booked through the DC.
