I saw on our news station here that you can't get a close view of the Olmpic Cauldron, that it's all blocked off. you are so lucky to be there soaking up all that great atmosphere! Enjoy!!

I think you can't get near it because it is hot and they are afraid people will burn themselves. I think Wayne said something to that effect on the morning show a few days ago.

But it is a bummer people can't get close to take pictures.

I am so glad you all are posting Olympic information otherwise I would be out of the loop. I am really trying to stay up late but it has been tough. Also, I teach so trying to keep up with information during the day is tough. Thanks for sharing everyone.

Oh, yes, to the poster that mentioned about Lindsay Jacobillis celebrating too early in Torino and it being a coaches tag line story. You are absolutely correct. I teach health and PE and had some excellent conversations about that with my students. Also, the students are, believe it or not, really interested in learning more about curling....LOL!! Who knows, maybe a whole new generation of future USA curlers!!!

With regard to the sources that called Weir's laced shirt a corset, who cares? Call it what you will, cite what you please, it doesn't change it. Inspired by? Could be, but it could as easily be inspired by a lace up vest.

The point that is refusing to be acknowledged is that it's ridiculous to attribute his costume to looking like a girl, and then expect that comment to not be a derogatory reference to women in general. All because it was trimmed in pink? Calling someone on that sort of genralization is not a backhanded insult. It's a direct challenge to a ridiculous statment. Whatevah...

yeah, I posted that when they still hadn't cut over to hockey. I was sitting there, watching the various curlers stand there and discuss strategy or whatever, while the minutes kept ticking and ticking and ticking and ticking by. I'm afraid that my neighbors are now well aware of my feelings on the situation.

But now I've seen Pete and I'm happy. It's also good to see Jochen Hecht again; LOVED HIM when he was a Blue.
