anyone else love or like the Xanadu Soundtrack or movie?...i love the ELO songs that are on it, i like Olivia Newton John too but my favorite songs on the soundtrack are by ELO :teeth: my favorite song on the soundtrack is probably "Im Alive" by ELO.

I will now be singing that song all day and pretending to rollerskate.

I'm sure all my friends will want to thank you. :teeth:

I love it :goodvibes I've got to go find my rollerskates and leg warmers.

I loved that movie. I went to see it every weekend when it was in theaters. When it first came out on video (VHS), I paid something like $75 for it. Then a couple weeks later it came on on LaserDisc, so I bought a player and the LaserDisc. When the movie came out on DVD, I bought it. I did notice that they seem to have messed up the soundtrack on the DVD during the "battle of the bands" sequence.

I saw ELO perform live in 1973 in Cleveland. I absolutely fell in love with Olivia Neutron Bomb. But the funny thing is that I never bought the soundtrack to the movie. And now it all seems rather silly (although I still love the music from the film and might now have to dig out the DVD and watch it again).

When I lived in Los Angeles, I always wanted to look for the place that they converted (on film) to Xanadu. I read somewhere that they finally tore the place down. Oh well.

LOVED that soundtrack! I was a big fan of Olivia Newton-John as a young teenager. Still enjoy her music. I watched that movie every chance I got back then. I rented as an adult for my older dd to watch. Boy, I was surprised at how hokie it was! LOL! My copy of the soundtrack was an LP, can't listen to it any more. May have to find a copy on CD!

Another Xanadu lover here!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the song "I'm Alive" and "All Over The World" is another favorite of mine!

Oh yea...I listen to my downloaded MP3 songs. I love ELO and Xanadu...no downside there. Includes Gene Kelley.:cool1:

Sometimes I start with "I'm Alive" goes good with getting ready for the day.

I just watched this the other day and here is my favorite song from it:

"Xanadu"

A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
They call it Xanadu.
And now open your eyes and see
What we have made is real.
We are in Xanadu.
Xanadu - Xanadu (now we are here)
In Xanadu
Xanadu - Xanadu (now we are here)
in Xanadu
Xanadu
your neon lights will shine
For you Xanadu.
The love
the echoes of long ago
You needed the world to know
They are in Xanadu.
The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to Xanadu.
The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to Xanadu.
The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to Xanadu.
A million lights are dancing
...
Xanadu - Xanadu (now we are here)
...
Now that I'm here now that you#re near in Xanadu.

It's funny, I was just talking about that movie just over a week ago. Don't remember what brought it up as it is an old movie. But I loved it, loved it, loved it and loved Olivia Newton-John and her singing when I was a young teenager. Now I want to see it again. Have to look and see if blockbuster has it on their site to order. I am glad I am not the only one.

My mom bought this DVD for DSis and I last Christmas. I've now got DD7 hooked on the movie. It's one of my favorites! :teeth:

I'm Alive is cool.

I don't recall the song titles or band names...but my favorite part was when they were talking about the club and they had the punk band and the big band each doing their separate parts and then merge into oen song.

And funny--I was JUST talking about this movie yesterday to my hubby. We were listening to Singing in the Rain and I mentioned to him that Gene Kelly was in Xanadu and he couldn't remember it despite my detailed descriptions of the scenes. :(

The finale is my favorite. I soo wanted to grow up and be able to be in that show. I was young--so it seemed real to me.

I loved the movie and the songs from it too! My dad liked the part where the two bands come together. I just loved seeing Gene Kelly in a movie again, I love him...huge fan! :teeth:

This will probably only p***off the Anti-Wal-Mart crowd, but you can download all ten songs off that soundtrack for $8.80. If you search a little you can find a couple extra sounds that aren't on "Original" soundtrack.
