Woo Hoo!!! I was just able to upgrade to a 1bdrm! Now if I can just get one for DSIL and family. So, if anyone is still trying to get an upgrade from one of the values and received the pin code offer...call right now as I know a studio @ OKW just became available.

I just got off the phone. Again, I got a cast member who said if I wanted the one bedroom, I would have to pay more money. (has anyone been told this?) I told him to check with my code anyway. He said none were available.

It was OKW and the CM speaking to me was really shocked to see one available. There must have been a cancellation by someone right as I called. Also, when she first tried to change it, the system wouldn't let her do it (she joked around that she was afraid it was getting ready to throw a temper tantrum). Anyway, the second attempt worked.

i WAS ABLE TO UPGRADE MY SISTER AND HER FAMILY WHO IS GOING DOWN WITH US. THE CODE LETS YOU UPGRADE UP TO 3 ROOMS. IT TOOK QUITE A FEW CALLS TO GET THE ANSWER BUT WE FINALLY GOT IT FROM GUEST SERVICES.

You must have just lucked out. Good for you!! I tried calling again to get a different CM, maybe one that knew something....and guess what? I got the same person!! What are the chances of that?

I am still happy with my studio.

DSIL and I both already had studios through the upgrade (by the time we realized we qualified, the 1bdrms were already gone). I was told to just keep checking back from time to time to see if anyone cancelled...so I guess today was my lucky day -- however I do feel bad for whoever had to give up their room.

Anyway, the call required some changes where they needed me to call back and give permission for DSIL to access my reservation information (clear as mud?). Anyway, I called right back as myself and got the same CM that had just helped me thinking I was DSIL. I was in total panic mode and so speechless...all I could do was just hang up before I hyperventilated!!! I know they have caller I.D. and the CM was probably thinking to himself: "What a weirdo". I learned a lesson and will not call that way again!

I knew I should have book ASM instead of POR. I would take an upgrade to deluxe if they offer it to me. LOL

I found this post today *had no idea I could sit at my computer for 3 hours reading a message board!* and called to see if we had a code for this upgrade on our reservation. My husband doesn't do a very good upkeep job on his home email so I thought I'd take the chance!

Had booked a package for free dining at All Star Sports for August 31st through September 5th.

Now have same package for us at Old Key West in a 1 Bedroom Villa!

Wow! Thanks to DISboards and you posters our vacation is even better than I could have dreamed!

Details for those trying to find a common denominator:

-Booked end of May online through WDW site (whole package - air, resort, tickets)
-Paid in full at time of booking
-No email (that I can find, could have been trashed but he had older stuff than 3 weeks in his delete piles)
-Code attached to reservation, found easily by reservationist on phone

The CM on the phone was as excited as I was to do the upgrade - she mentioned that this was the best part of her job.

I'm thrilled for you! I debated on whether I should ressurect this thread (due to some negative stuff posted other places about it), but this is WAY COOL! Congratulations!!! Your dates must have been right on to get a 1 BR, others are going to be jealous

I remember reading this initially when everyone was receiving the free room upgrades but not bothering calling myself to check since I had not received the email (checked the spam filter diligently) Upon seeing this thread revived I decided to call and amazingly enough the CM said I indeed had a code. Just received a 1 br at OKW. I booked 4/27 for Pop during 8/28-9/4. Thanks again

It's like Christmas all over again - I think the deadline for calling was July 24th, so maybe some others will call to check too.

I just tried again, and didn't find any 1 bdrs available at either SSR or OKW for 8/27-9/2. Of course I'm still thrilled with my upgrade to a suite, very happy with things as they are!

excellent!! you just have to keep trying and things will work out. I found out with this on the 40% deal awhile back. I tried 6 different times or more to get that code and finally got an awesome cm that let me book 2 of my trips for $49 a night @ POP!!

How many of you are renting a car for your DVC stay? I wasn't going to but have just about decided to bite the bullet and get one. Mainly because we will be doing a split stay and I'd rather move the luggage ourselves. Plus, we are just bringing a 20" carry-on each so I am limited to the 3oz. liquid rule which means we'll need to get more sunscreen, etc. I'd also like to have transportation to get some fresh fruit and cases of water.

And the real kicker is that we got our ME luggage tags and they left DD off the reservation. Now I know she would love to stay at WDW forever, but we'd kind of like to bring her home with us (of course, I might feel differently after spending 24 hrs. a day with her for 12 days!). I called to get it straightened out and they said I had to wait until two days before we leave the resort and go to bell services to have new vouchers printed (what's up with that?).

We're not renting a car, I just don't want to deal with that and I got used to the bus system in May and have decided that its part of the whole experience.

Something like that thing with ME happened with my 6 yr. old in May too and we didn't have to do anything - they didn't even check, they just scanned the vouchers when we got on. She was on the hotel reservation, just not on the ME vouchers and she didn't have luggage strips. I should look at mine, we just got it yesterday.

Finally, with alot of persistance, I was able to get upgraded to a 1 bedroom this morning. We had a studio at SSR, now we have a one bedroom and still staying at SSR!!! Since getting the studio upgrade, we have falling inlove with SSR. I am so happy we will still be there. This is a $3700 package that I am only paying $924. Good luck to anyone still trying to get one.
