DD is away at camp this week then we have one week together before school starts on Aug 13th (her birthday) What's up with starting that early!
Lucky for me DD will only miss one day of school. They are off on Friday before Labor Day. Originally we were only going to be there late Thur-Mon but after the free upgrade to SSR I found great airfare on Wed so I added a day for the POP price and booked the Wed airfare.
We will be arriving late 9:30pm (still trying to decide if I want to pick up my bags or let ME bring them to me in the morning). Anyway our first meal will be Thur morning at Crystal Palace after enjoying some of the MK early entry rides.
We are so excited especially since less than a week ago we found out we passed ROFR for SSR DVC!:cheer2:

Congrats soccermom!!! :cheer2:

I plan on getting to OKW by 7am because we are doing a 4 nt. stay prior to free DDP. Our room probably won't be ready yet, but at least I might have more of a selection. I also want to make sure we are put in the same building as DSIL. I know they won't tell me the room number -- but I think they'll confirm whether or not we are in the same vicinity. They are driving down from NC and won't be there until late afternoon. Our first ADR is at Kona Cafe (which has always been a favorite of mine!). I don' think we'll even do the parks on the 26th...maybe just hang out around the pool for a few hours and then go to DTD until the rest of the family arrives.

Can I call SSR and request that we be next to my inlaws?

Do you think they will just do that? We have the same last name.

Ill have my inlaws ask when they get there. They are going the day before us.

We got our papers yesterday for our 9/1 to 9/8 OKW stay. Everything is totally in order and we are really getting excited about all of this.
Can't wait!

We got our vouchers yesterday too. I cannot wait. I feel like it is finally official. Now all I have to do is wait.:rolleyes1

The waiting is the hardest part, isn't it? Thank goodness there are things like school shopping, school starting, county fairs and packing (and shopping for vacation!) to help pass the time. 29 1/2 looooong days from now, I will be sitting on a plane passing out my "grueling" itinerary to my whole family, on our way to SSR!!

Sad really, that I have been wishing away the summer. I have NEVER done that before. I look forward to summer all year long, and since we decided to go, back in April, I have not done anything other than plan for WDW. Everything that we have planned, is basically just another stepping stone until the big day when we leave. Obviously, I needed this vacation. Of course, after reading everyone else's posts, I am in good company.

Did everyone with Teppanyaki find a replacement yet? We actually traded it for an ADR @ Olivia's since we didn't have anything planned there yet (and all my ADRs were made prior to the upgrade!). The only thing I'm concerned with is that we have an ADR @ Concourse the night after and the menus at both restaurants are almost identical.

Did you do the reservation through Grand Gatherings? I have found that if you are a GG they put you together.

I've gone to WDW with extended family before who arrived at different times, and we always just asked very nicely at check-in if we could be as close to each other as possible (there were not enough of us for a GG). The kids like to go back & forth by themselves. We've always been put either right next door, or they will put us sort of on an inside corner and the other party is just a couple doors down on the other part of the corner. Does that make sense? Anyway, we were never more than 3 rooms apart. Of course it all depends on the crowd level, but the upgrade time period is relatively slow so I'm sure they can work something out. Good luck!

We will be using our first FD at Ohanas on 8/26!!!:cool1: I called twice a day for the last 2 weeks and finally got a 4pm ressie today.

I am so excited! Today, I was checking my plane ressies (just to write everything out, I have changed everything so much lol), and realized my prices for our flight out changed again and I saved another $80! I had saved $20 on our anniversary trip flights recently, so I now have a $100 Southwest credit! Woo-hoo!

So, today I booked my park and fly ressies, made my garden grocer order, and revamped my food plans again (I saved money - decided to do less TS OOP and utilize our CS more since I have breakfast food from garden grocer now!).

I am down to like $115 - $200 OOP for food! Woo-hoo!

I am really getting excited - SSR here we come!

Our first FD ADR is for Le Cellier at 7:20 PM. on 9/1. What a way to start a trip! I actually got every ADR I wanted at the time span I wanted for each and every day of the trip when I made my reservations back in April on the first day of FD reservations. I was astounded then and astounded now!
Here is our line up:
9/1 Le Cellier 7:20 PM
9/2 Kona Cafe 7:10 PM
9/3 Chef Mickey's 7:10 PM
9/4 Chefs de France 7 PM
9/5 Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package 5:10 PM (the last seating)
9/6 Ohana 6:35 PM
9/7 Coral Reef 7 PM

We've only done Le Cellier and Chef Mickey's on this list before, so the rest of them are new to us. Any suggestions?

We are checking in and heading over to Wolfgang Express for lunch!

lyzziesmom, Thanks! I figured they will put us as close as they can. We dont have to be next door to each other.

We were going to skip MGM now we are reconsidering. I think well end up going to MGM after Wolfgang Express instead of going to DQ.

Nandeb, We will be in Epcot 9/4 - Coral Reef at 5:10pm
9/6 - Ohanas at 8pm

We hope to meet some Disers at the 9/2 MK meet!

I thought I would get some advise from my friends that got the upgrade:
We are leaving on the 30th of this month and our flight has changed from the evening to the morning.Giving us almost another full day and I can't figure what we should do.We were not planning on going to the park the 31st because we have tix to the PPP and we are eating at chef mickey than were going to try to get into the MK with our PPP tix at 4:00.We are going on a DVC tour earlier in the day so we have that day pretty much planned. So what should we do the day before.I can't imagin being at disney for over 24 hour without entering a park. We have 10 day tix and will be there for 12 full days.I'm trying to convince DH to go to the park the first day and then take labor day off(were going to HDDR at 5:00 that day)
He thinks that going to the park from 2-10 pm will be a bad idea because we have to leave at 4am to catch our flight and our girls are only 6&3 and he thinks that will be to tierd. We have never flown and gone to the park on the same day is it to much?
TIA
Laura
:cool1: :cool1: OKW here we come:cool1: :cool1:

I think I'd wait and see how the girls are feeling. That's a long day for them and might be overwhelming and not a fun way to start out the trip, but I am with you for skipping Labor Day, I wouldn't want to be at a park that day.

Maybe 5-10 pm would be better and then they'll have a chance to play for awhile, rest, go in the pool, etc. The great thing is that you'll have enough time to do everything, so you could enjoy the evening without feeling rushed to see/do too much.

M2DD's, have you thought about going to a water park or mini golf? The water parks are great for part of a day but they can get a little pricey if you don't have the water park fun option on your ticket. BB has a great little play area for the smaller kids with little slides and everything, and their "preteen" area is perfect for a 6-year-old, there are small slides where she can race against other people (and you can do them too!) and a pool with plastic "ice" stepping stones and ropes to hold onto while they cross. My shy little DD8 who doesn't like going underwater spent ages in that area last year.

The package comes with the voucher for a free round of mini golf, and it's only about $11. Last time we did Winter Summerland, it's right over by BB so we just walked over after going to BB and my DD8 LOVED it and can't wait to go back! My DD3 really likes mini golf too even though she doesn't really do it right, but it's a ton of fun for the whole family. And if you want to do both courses at WS or Fantasia Gardens, the 2nd round is 1/2 price, it's really a great deal for an afternoon of fun. Or you could always just go wander around DTD, with all the shops and the Lego Store and the places to get yummy snacks, it can easily take an afternoon. Have you ever been to the Boardwalk? I really want to but can't find a free evening in my itinerary. It's supposed to be loads of fun in the evenings, with live entertainment that the kids might like and a gorgeous view for you and your DH, and then you could go to Beaches and Cream and get a nice ice cream snack. You could always use your first day to just kind of check out the resort, go to the pool, and take the girls to the arcade. My kids could spend HOURS in the arcades.

We're going to be in AK on Labor Day and then go to Planet Hollywood for a late lunch before heading to the P&PP that evening. Do you guys think it's going to be busy at AK? I was at WDW over LD weekend last year, and I can't remember which park we hit on LD (Epcot maybe?) but I don't recall it being overly busy. It sure did slow down noticeably the next day though -- my dad thought the rides were closed because we were the only people on some of them!

I'm down to 25 days and getting SO VERY excited! I just realized after having a heck of a Monday morning, that there are only THREE more Mondays until we leave, yay!!
