WWYD? offered free upgrade

Received ME packet today with the yellow luggage tags - still sending us to All Star Sports on our day of arrival instead of Old Key West. Postmark date of July 20. When I have more time (IE don't feel like holding today) I'll call to see if this is a big deal or if I can sharpie OKW on the tags and call it done.

Oddly enough, today I also got what looks like it would have been a request for payment if we weren't fully paid already. An invoice of our room at OKW, showing that we should get back $3.20 from Disney and a payment envelope. That made me chuckle Especially when this was postmarked the day before they sent out ME tags sending my bags to the previous resort.

Alls well that ends well! Worst case scenario would be having to get our luggage in Orlando and take it to the bus ourselves... the horrors!

Got my travel docs today for arriving 8-27. It was postmarked 7-23-07. Everything is accurate so this fantasy upgrade is really becomming a reality. Now I have to get that dreaded school shopping done before we leave.

As I understand it, the OKW 1BV has only ONE bed and a sleeper sofa, correct? We're currently upgraded to a studio, and I'm THRILLED to have that! But I want two beds - don't really want to deal with a sleeper sofa. If there's two beds, then I might try to get an upgrade too!

That's correct, the 1 BR at OKW has a king bed and a pullout sofa, and the studio has two queen beds. I'm not sure which pullout OKW has now, but the one we had at BWV last year was very easy (the cushions stay attached) and the kids found it very comfortable.

CindyW... my family and I were upgraded from Movies to SSR, but because we had a room only ressie on the 25th (free dining starts 26 so had to have 2 different ressies) we are staying for just one night at Movies. We recieved out ME tags, our arrival info had Movies tags and our Departure info had SSR. After calling just about everyone the solution that we have is that we will put the SSR tags on the luggage and (we have been told) that our luggage will go straight to SSR and wait for us till the 26th (I have to write that on our luggage tags though). I talked to front desk at SSR and they said yes they would hold it for us, ME said that the luggage would go where the tags go, and Disney Reservations said a whole lot of contraditcing stuff. Did you get luggage tags for OKW? if not then you could probably call ME directly and speak to them about it... here is their number 866-599-0951. Good luck!

We got our packages and we are now counting down the days until our magic begins .... the only problem with that is that I feel we are wishing away the summer ... but I can't wait until I am in Disney again !!

Okay -- got another set of documents in the mail today! The first set still showed we had studio accomodations...today's set actually shows the change to the 1bdrm. Now I have twice as many luggage tags too (which is great because we like to use them in the "real world" on our kids backpacks, musical instruments, etc.).

Plus I wanted to let all my fellow disers that I have been chatting with on this thread that we were able to switch our flight from getting into orlando from 11pm to 11am so now we have the rest of the day to enjoy OKW and maybe get a better room location.

I finally got my travel documents in the mail today, yay!! I was having a very bad morning and seeing those big blue & white envelopes in the mailbox really turned things around for me.

M2DDs: congrats on changing your flight! I wish we could do that, but we are leaving on a Friday after work so that we don't have to take any more days off of work, so an earlier flight is not an option. Oh well, at least we'll be nice and rested for our first day in the parks, rather than getting there in the afternoon after flying all morning.

when we booked our flight we were leaving in the pm so my dh could work a full day but then I noticed that the last flights out from our airport were getting very delayed and people were missing their connecting flight and getting stuck in Atlanta so,My wonderful DH asked his boss if he could come in on a saturday a work so we can leave in the morning instead.So my DH is going to work this saturday for me.Isn't he sweet1

I got my doc's today for our trip. I even called and added a day at the beginning of our trip so now 9 nights 10 days of OKW and free dining.

CindyW: I know exactly what you mean! I'm not even excited about the kids starting school or shopping or haircuts or all that getting-ready-for-school stuff that usually consumes us at this time, I just want to get to WDW already!!

We love the luggage tags too. We have one from last year and one from this year that are still in the plastic, they might be collector's items someday! We travel to WDW a few times a year so we have LOTS of the tags, and love to use them for backpacks, we put one on the stroller, DD8 put one on her bag to go to camp... they are great for so many things! Even if we travel somewhere *gasp!* non-Disney, we still get that little touch of magic on our luggage.

Oh I so wish I could add another day, or take an earlier flight on our first day. BUT, I can't miss any more work and neither can my dad, and my DD can't miss any more school, so... a late Friday flight it is. At least we are getting 8 1/2 full days and 9 nights of WDW, but only taking 4 vacation days. Gotta love long holiday weekends!!

Can you tell I am SOOO excited! I was having Disney dreams last night, I dreamed that I was shopping on Main Street and the shops were all new and filled with beautiful things I'd never seen before.

My ticker turned into days instead of weeks! We have all of our papers and vouchers so we are ready.....
WAIT ...we still need to:
finish school shopping, do laundry , take a weekend vacation to WI Dells for family reunion , do laundry , register at school, finish scrapbooking our last WDW vacation, do more laundry , lose 30 more pounds , pack and THEN WE LEAVE FOR OKW!!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

We are flying Delta and yes they do charge 50$ a seat but,they cancelled our flight and then put us on the later flight.So I just called back and asked for the morning flight instead.If they hadn't cancelled our origanal flight it would of cost us 200$ to change flights.

LauraAnn630- I know what your saying when you wish you can check your ADR's online I called yesterday to make sure mine were all intact and they were. plus I've been so excited about our resort upgrade I fogot about our dinning.

I still haven't figured out what park were going to be in on labor day.We have 13 days so I think I would just want to be in the least crowded park.Which may be epcot because they can handle the most crowds according to the UG.
Any suggestions would be helpful.Were going to the 5:00 show at HDDR that night.

i can't believe we are in the countdown of less than a month!! i feel the same way about the back to school thang. i hate that my dd is just starting school and i have to hand her teacher a letter telling her i'm pulling her out a couple of days already!! we are all so anxious for this trip cause of the free dining and free upgrade @ ssr!! i looked at the slideshow for ssr and was getting so excited!!! where is everyone going on their 1st FD lunch or dinner?? as soon as we arrive(8pm), we are heading to dtd and going to wolfgang puck's cafe for dinner!!

Our flight doesn't get into MCO until 10:30pm, so our first FD meal is the next day. We're having our first FD dinner at Mama Melrose, it's someplace we've never tried before! We like to just kind of wing it for breakfast & lunch at CS places, that way we get to have some spontenaeity but still plan enough for everything to go smoooooth. I can't wait!! With the free dining and the upgrade, this is going to be such a great vacation. And with things going less than stellar at work, it couldn't come at a better time!!
