WWYD - Kidani or Concierge

I just called and was able to reserve a Concierge Studio at AKV for 5/29-31.

But now I am wondering whether I should have stuck with my original plan of Kidani Savanna View Studio.

Unless the saved points (at Kidani) actually help you to get another trip this year, I'd keep the Concierge! There is no guarantee that you will be able to reserve concierge in a future trip (You'll be competing with more AKV owners in the future), but a great chance you could book Kidani on most advanced planned future trips.

I had the same choice for next June and decided to stay concierge. We stayed concierge 2 years ago and loved it. The lounge is very convenient for me when I am traveling alone with DGrD(5) and DNeph (11) - and DNeph has been waiting the two years to do Sunrise Safari again. We plan on walking over to check out Kidani and have planned a down day to do just that - the new pool, kid's club, kid's programs (the African CMs are amazing with the kids ), dinner at the new restaurant, etc. I wasn't feeling 'completely' sure that everything would be fully up and running over at Kidani- we plan on doing Kidani on our next and future trips - I also feel that concierge will become harder and harder to reserve as time passes. Either way- you can't loose. I hope you will LOVE AKV/AKL as much as we do!!

I think that the points are worth it to stay concierge. I think it's a good deal, actually.

I would stay concierge.

Kidani will still be under construction, so if given the choice, I'd stay concierge now and Kidani later.

Concierge will get harder to book as the resort sells out. Once Kidani is completed we will most likely not stay in Jambo at all, not even for concierge.

You probably got the AKV Concierge Studio for 5/29 that I just canceled Saturday morning. Congratulations. Decided to stay somewhere else for that Friday and Saturday to save a few points since I am staying at DVC for five weeks next May-June.

I just booked a Concierge studio for a friend and I for next October. I've always wanted to stay Concierge, and I think it is worth trying at least once, especially when it is difficult to book. I agree with the others - it seems as though it may be more difficult to book as more people purchase AKV. I can't wait!

We have stayed concierge at both the Poly and BWI a few times and love the service. I have heard that AKL's concierge has the best staff and we may want to try the Sunrise Safari.

My only concern was not having a great savanna view, but I'm sure there are some great areas around the resort to see the animals.

I think we are going to stick with concierge, knowing it will only get harder to get in the future.

We will be there for 5 nights May 24-29; decided to cancel the Friday night stay to free up a few more points to use elsewhere since we plan to be on property mainly until June 25. We may spend a couple of weekends at the Nickolodeon and Universal Studios hotel. We will book the Safari that week!
