Last Dec we purchased the Disney Princess DVD/TV for my GD 2nd B-day. They kept it in her room up high out of reach. She like to watch her movies just prior to nap time each day.:happytv: Well I come to find out that the dvd player just stopped working a few months ago and we never knew until I asked if she watched the new Tinkerbelle on it.

Now I know it is not super expensive but it did run over $100.00 purchasing it online at Walmart.com. Do you think I could either get them to have this repaired or replaced. Why is it nothing lasts anymore. She was never allowed to touch it and it is out of reach.

I also still have my Walmart email order receipt.

Comments please.

I guess it depends on what kind of warranty came with the television :confused3 . Did the recipients of the gift keep the paperwork that came with it?

My husband manages a Best Buy and he says your best bet is to contact the manufacturer IF you have the original reciept. He doesn't think any retailer will take back an item almost a year old.

We had the same problem with the princess tv/dvd player. The tv is fine, but did have to return the first one (it had screwed up colors). But it is now fine. The DVD player lasted about 6 months. Called manufacturer (I believe it's Memcorp) and they were not too sympathetic. Long story short, cost of repairs, much too high. We went and bough a cheap $40 dvd player at Walmart instead.

So we can hook up a dvd player to this TV combo?

Somehow I did not think you could since it already came with the DVD player. I think I will go that route thank you.:cutie:

I must have has a slightly different model. Mine were 2 seperate pieces (mine must be an older item). However, I would think you could probably hook up a dvd player to it, we had a tv/vcr combo that the vcr broke on and we hooked up a dvd player to it. As long as it has those red/yellow/white (Or at least 2) hook up thingees (yes, that's the technical name) you can.
Good luck...
Where are you in Western NY??? We are in Rochester. Hello Neighbor!

Horrible products IMO, we bought DD the Princess tv and vcr, 2 seperate pieces, and yes our vcr broke probably within a year.

We have the Princess Tv and DVD separate. We are currently on our 3 DVD player in the past 3 years.

We've had the separate princess tv and dvd player for a few years. We got them on clearance as they were coming out with new models (which happened to be exactly the same). Both are still working, but every once in a while, the dvd player will not come on. :confused3 So far, we've been able to fix it by unplugging it and plugging it back in or checking all the cords. It's a fickle little thing.

Wow, we have the princess tv and dvd player (2 seperate pieces) and it will be 2 years old. Still works fine. One day the dvd player did act up. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in and started working fine again. No other problems since.

We actually purchased them at Target when they had them marked wrong (budget board find). Costed me about $75 for both pieces.

We have gone through one "Cars" TV/DVD combo already and are on our second one. If you look at the online reviews for any of the Disney TV/DVD products you'll see a trend. The manufacturer's warranty is only good for 3 months and people are reporting these problems anywhere from month 4 to a year or so after purchase. Most of the complaints are the same.... either the dvd won't come on or the screen won't turn on. You can try to contact the manufacturer but I think your best bet might be a local tv repairman.

My sister bought the Mickey Mouse TV for my son 5+ years ago. It is still working great.

I recently saw the DVD player that matches it at Big Lots. It was $40. I came home and read the reviews first...... To make a long story short.... I'm not buying the DVD player. It had too many negative reviews.
