Hi friends!:cool1:

I am planning a trip to WDW for me for my birthday in October and I'd like your input.

You can see the options noted above...

Here are some things to keep in mind before you vote...

1) I do not know who I will be going with. It could be DH, it could be BFF or it could be my sister or sister-in-law. I won't know for a while yet but I do know that there will only be 2 people and no kids.

2) I have no problem with the split stays as long as they involve the same resort. I find it a great way to spread out my points.

3) No car....we're going for F&W AND my birthday so there will be NO DRIVING involved:drinking1.

4) I have stayed at AKV three times and OKW twice and we have a trip planned for OKW in June 2012. Not that I do not like those two resorts, but perhaps it is time to try something new?

5) Points issue...I have 100 HHI points (50 2010 + 50 2011) to use and 11 2012 AKV points. If any of the AKV points are not used, they would be banked into 2013 but we are traveling to HHI that year so they might go to waste.

6) I am aware of possible availability issues. I would be completely content with any of these options so if my first selection isn't available, then I will try something else. So, when you vote, just assume that every option is available. I didn't even include BWV or BCV because I am assuming that they will not be available anyways (weekend during F&W) and I am not interested in waitlisting.

Also, if you vote for one of the options that requires more than 111 points, please post if I should purchase the additional point(s) from Disney, or if I should borrow them from my 2012 HHI allotment. We are planning on spring break (first week of April) 2013 to HHI in a 1BR which should require 135 points. With banking and borrowing, I'd have 150 available which means I could borrow up to 15 of them to make the reservation for this trip. My only worry would be another reallocation. That 15 point cushion would allow for an increase of up to 3 points per night.

Thanks! I look forward to seeing the results and comments:banana:.

I wouldn't rule out the BWV prefered view studio/1 br being available if you call at 9am at your 7 month window..that would be my first choice for food and wine:thumbsup2...second choice would be BLT

I just would think staying in one place would be better than being homeless for alittle while.

I think a BCV or BWV room is best for your plans. BCV probably won't be available but BWV is a larger resort and a preferred view room might be available, especially if you are willing to split between a 1 bedroom/studio. I would at least check. Good luck!

I booked BWV within 7 month window as well.. I wouldn't give up before asking.
I would try there 1st. BC I bet to be full as well.

I voted 1 br AK, it is just better to have a GIANT tub and no switching.

2nd option would be BLT 2 nights studio then 3 nights 1 bedroom. I think it should make it.

I would also probably spend the 360$ if the 24 points you can buy gets you into a 1 bedroom the whole time. 15$ per point and up to 24 per yr. If you have a few $$ that would work well too..

:cheer2: HAVE FUN

I would agree with this if you can make that work. If not I would opt for all 5 nights at BLT. True the studio is small, but should be okay with just two people. If you haven't stayed there before an MK view is a great way to try it out ;)

Good luck with your decision! I am sure it will be a lot of fun!!

To be fair, I had considered this option...but it is 123 points to do a preferred studio for 2 nights and a preferred 1BR for the other 3 nights. When I do the split stays, I will never do more than 2 nights before switching. By day 3, I am ready to use the kitchen (leftovers!) and the W/D (laundry). Before that, the room is just for sleeping. We "commando" the first two days, then kick back. I haven't entirely ruled it out though!

I actually put AK in there, particularly the 1BR at Kidani, because of the extra bathroom. I figure if I go with anyone besides DH, that extra bathroom will add some additional privacy.

I think it does, but only if one of them is a standard. It is 140 points to do a 2/3 split in a LV and that is more than I am willing to use. IF the 1BR were a LV, then it would be only 135 points which is also too much. IF the 1BR were standard, then it would be a possibility because that is "only" 127 points.

I have a very limited budget to work with so I am really trying to stay within my available points to cover the lodging.

I like the idea of BLT because the TOTWL sounds like a fun place for adults to watch Hallowishes. I also like BLT because it is just a monorail ride away from the Polynesian where I can get that highly-alcoholic beverage that is served in a pineapple:woohoo:.

I voted for the 5 night stay at BLT. It would be great to see the MK fireworks and pretty convenient for F&W too.

I voted for the 5 nights at BLT because of the monorail connection to Epcot. - no buses! But ideally if you could get something at BWV or BC that would be better.

I voted for BLT for the same reason as jstarcze - monorail all the way. Also for a girl-birthday / adults only trip, BLT/CR seems like the way to go. Enjoy!!

Book something, and then waitlist for BCV or BWV to be nearer to F&W action!

BLT! It's an amazing place! We stayed there last February, MK view, and I do not think we will ever stay anywhere else again. Besides how beautiful it all was the location was really the best! You have easy access to everything!

If you are not going to be driving I think BLT is best. You can take the monorail to and from EPCOT which is convenient. AKL has never interested me because it is so far from everything! I would avoid it if you are not driving because then it is all buses. While OKW and SSR are kinda of the same I would choose SSR second. It might be far from the parks but it still has a lot to do right there.

I agree not to rule out BWV and BCV, we were able to get Beach Club for Food and Wine at the 7 month window and it was the BEST location for walking back and forth to Food and Wine, so I'm voting "none of these options are good" and hoping you'll go for it :thumbsup2

I say try to hit nights at BWV or BCV. If F & W event is main goal, be at the doorstep. Nothing against the other choices, just makes sense to me. have fun whatever the choice:thumbsup2

I voted BLT because it sounds like you haven't been there before and it would be something new. The TOTWL is great and you can only go if you are staying there. You can do a lot of fun drinking around the monorail.
