Way back in October I believe we requested tickets through a website offering positions as seat fillers for the taping of WWTBAM at MGM, in exchange for completing a four hour shift you were rewarded with free MGM admission and a free Disney ticket to return to any park, pretty good deal. Although we are pass holders we attended to see the taping and to get extra tickets for our family to come back to Disney. Here is our report...
1/10 4:30am:
We woke up very very early, although we live only an hour away we were told we had to be there by 8:30am or else...lol! So we got dressed and headed to WDW... yipee! We arrived around 7:00am, it was EMH at MGM so I went in on our passes to get an ECV for my mother to sit on waiting until we were all allowed in. At 8am they registered us and gave us all wristbands to allow us into the park and into the taping. We walked backstage around the buildings and were taken into an empty sound stage adjacent to WWTBAM play it attraction. Here we were informed of our "duties" and the waiting began. Apparently this position meant we only saw a taping if there were empty seats ... but it was fun playing games and spending time with my family. At 12 they announced that they would need a large amount of people for the next taping so we got ready and they led us in. We got to watch a whole taping, which was pretty interesting (we're not supposed to give out any details) but it was hard not to yell out the answers...lol! We finished our taping and were given tickets.
Our first stop in the park was Muppets 3D with no wait, then lunch at Pizza Planet. Next a few of us headed to Star Tours, again no wait... We sat out of the Movie Ride, the wait was only 10 minutes however ... then we did RNR with a 10 minute wait and headed to dinner at Jungle Jims. Overall a really good day, however it was SUPER cold ... we were in shorts...
After meeting my DFiance's parents for dinner we got a room at the Days Suites in Old Town. Not luxury, but pretty darn nice for $49.00 a night (1 bedroom with two fulls and vanity area, and full kitchen, bath and living room with wall bed and pull out couch). We watched a bit of tv before calling it a night.
We woke up at 5am the next morning to get ready for another day at the tapings. We got there around 6:30am for the 7am shows. Today was even worse regarding the weather, BRRRR! Thank goodness my DFiance's parents had brought our late x-mas gifts and one of those was a pair of pants and long sleeve shirt for me...
Same thing again this morning, however we got into the 10am taping and got to see another full show. Alot of "duh" moments..lol! Left MGM and caught the bus to MK. Park was pretty empty. CRT had no wait, but since we are on ATKINS we picked Liberty Tavern Instead the Colony Salad is AWESOME! We did HM, Pooh, Snow White, Phillarmagic all pretty quickly and were done with that area by 4pm. We then walked around in Tomorrowland before riding CP (which I had never been on), Buzz, and TLTA. When finished here at 5 and then went to see the Cinderella show at the castle, so cute! We then did Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise before leaving and taking the Ferry Back, by now it was freezing AGAIN. We watched Wishes from the ferry dock on the parking lot side (was very different here, but they do pipe music in) we could actually see the fireworks better. My eyes got watery knowing we had to go ... so we caught the bus to MGM and headed home.
However we will be going back end of the month because of the free tickets we earned for my little sis... so WDW here we come!!
Any questions, feel free to ask.... Below are a few pics I took with my cell phone... next time we go I'm going to set up an online albumn and update throughout the day and I will post the link on here for everyone to see.
