just wanted to share (i.e. -brag) that I won the One Million Point, Grand Prize, on the Disney-MGM version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?". I played on the Tuesday, December 23rd, 3:10 pm show.

I placed 3rd on the initial fastest finger - "Put the following coins in order of heaviest to lightest: A) Penny, B) Half-Dollar, C) Nickel, and D) Quarter." (Answer: BDCA)

The gentleman who played first, lost on the 2000 point question - "In the International Phonetic Alphabet, what word represents the letter 'R'?: A) Roger, B) Rabbit, C) Robert, D) Romeo?" (Answer: D) Romeo).

I guess I punched that last one in the fastest, because I placed first and ended up in the Hot Seat next! I don't remember too many of the early questions, but ended up using all my lifelines by 64,000 points. It was all gut instinct and process of elimination to the "Final Answer"!

The prizes I won include all the WWTBAM Pins and lanyard, the 1000 point cap, the 32,000 point polo shirt, the 1,000,000 point black varsity jacket, and large "gold" medallion ("Bling, Bling!"), and the 3-day DCL cruise for four including airfare!!!

One drawback on the cruise is that there are a lot of blackout dates - like 6 months worth. Excluded are any weeks with major holidays (Presidents day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas), the entire month around Easter, and all the summer months from May 15 through the first week in September. As a family with school age childen, this will be really tough to find a good time to go.

However, the best part of winning was that I had almost my entire family there to cheer me! We were celebrating Christmas together with a mini-reunion at WDW. My daughters (12 and 9) were so proud of me that they both gave me super hugs at the end of the show.

I hope you all have as wonderful of a holiday as I've had, and may God bless and protect your loved ones, wherever they may be.

That is fantastic! Congratualtions!

THAT is completely awesome!!!! How wonderful for you and your family!!!! Christmas angels were smiling on you. Hope you can find a good time to go--I'm sure that there will be SOMETHING available!!! Best wishes to you and your family for a very Blessed Christmas and New Year!!

That's great!!! Enjoy your trip!!

So the kids will miss a little school. What teacher could complain? The kids will be spending their time with someone smart enough to win a cruise! :teacher:

Congratulations!! What a wonderful Christmas present.

Congrats!!! The three day cruise is Thurs-Sun so you could probably work it out to only miss 2 or 3 days of school.

Congratulations! That was a great way to enjoy your holiday by wining. Hopefully you will find a good date for everyone.

Congratulation and Merry Christmas...... Glad your family was there to enjoy with you. let us know when you are going to go.....

:D

Congrats!! THat's like winning the lottery in my books. :)

That is cool! However I do think that is truly unfair of Disney to put that many limitations on when you can go. For crying out loud, I bet they don't even give away that many cruises, they should be able to squeeze you in at any time. Makes me glad my DH didn't win when he was in the hot seat.

I really gotta say that is fantastic. Kudos to you. I have been on three times and I just know how difficult the questions get. For a 17 year old like me I just can't seem to get past the 125,000. They ask me difficuly question like where was the saxophone patented and back in the .... Those through me for a loop. I have gotten to 125,000 twice and 64,000 once. I guess I am pretty good considering my parents have only gotten up to 8,000 and 16,000.

Hey big winner, what were your questions. Like what was the 1,000,000 point question. Was it really hard, was it about Disney, or did Disney become nice and just gave you a simple question so you could have fun on a cruise?

Steve.. :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc that is great.. Congratulations.. that is a major accomplishment I think.. after watching the game for the first time just recently and playing it with my family.. I thought no one ever makes it to the end. I wish I could have seen that happen for you... Bravo!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Steve. That is so exciting and wonderful to have had all your family with you. I would love to know what the final question was and details on what happened after you answered it.

Thanks to all for the warm felt congratulations. It was truly a special Christmas - Family, Disney, and Magic - I will never forget it.

The final 1,000,000 point question was as follows:

What noted author is attributed to the following quote -"Men always want to be a woman's first love - women like to be a man's last romance."

A) Oscar Wilde
B) Erma Bombeck
C) Peter Benchely
D) Dorothy Parker

A) Oscar Wilde, Final Answer. (confetti & streamers flying...audience cheering...family crying)

I'm still in shock that I made it into the Hot Seat, let alone winning the grand prize. However, my 12 yr DD added a funny spin on it. She said, "Dad, too bad it wasn't a million dollars instead!"

I had to agree. ;)

Wow that truly is something. So you didn't use a lifeline, you just knew the answer. When I read the question, I said Oscar just because it sounded good. So do you remember like the 250,000 and 500,000 questions? When did you use your lifelines? How does the jacket feel? What room do they give you for the cruise? Who was your host? Oh boy lot a questions.

That is so COOL!!! Congratulations, and enjoy your cruise! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
