I am so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I agree with the others, make sure your thyroid checks out ok. I don't know if I have any words that will make you feel better, but 14 lbs is still a great loss. Imagine if you hadn't started tracking your points?

Also, do you exercise? Maybe you need to "shake things up a bit" for your body.

I really, really hope things turn around for you. I am really amazed you have stuck with it. That is a huge accomplish in itself. You need to reward youself!!!! Maybe a new CD or piece of jewlery or something. You deserve it!

Weekly Weigh in: Down 3.6, total 18.2 in a month. I know it won't always be this good, just glad it is starting this well to keep me enthused!

Diane - Wow... I've never heard of anyone losing that much weight in one month with WW. That's awesome!! Please tell us what you are doing?

Just back from WI. Not as good as my scale said, but I was down 1.6 which is GREAT for me! Still no TOM, but at 44+ I never know quite what to expect. I definitely feel the water retention, so maybe I'll have another 1+ week soon!

Glad to be among such great LOSERS!!!

Hi all,

I was so happy to see this thread. Anyhow, I've been such a stress-cat. I ate like a little piglet and had to use my "free pass". I have about 10 pounds to go.

I'm starting to plan a Disney trip for our family (mine, my sister's and my Mom's) and am getting a little bit stressed about avoiding crowds. Has anyone been to the Food and Wine Festival? I guess if I'm a WW member I shouldn't be asking about that - HA!!!

Trying to decide between 1st week of November or the week BEFORE Thanksgiving. Thoughts anyone? :confused3

Just back from weigh in tonight....Lost 1.6 pounds!! Yea! All that working out this week really paid off nicely!

Morning all!!

Sorry to say the scales were not kind to me this week. Stayed the same:(:( I know better than a gain.

Oh well onward and downward!!

Have a magical Disney Day!!:)

Thanks for the replies & encouragement, guys!

I called my endocrinologist and they are going to check my thyroid next week. (why they make you wait almost a week to draw your blood, I'll never know!) I have been on thyroid meds for years and it was fairly stable until I had DS in June '03. After that my thyroid's been a little wacky from time to time. Hopefully, it is high, then I know why I am trying so hard and not getting results. My doc. is great and has said in the past he will try to keep me on the "lower end of normal" to help with the weight loss. So, we'll have to wait & see...

In the meantime, I am still sticking to plan and trying to make even better choices within my allotted pts. per day. IE: more fruit/veggies instead of 2 pts. of light chips.

Congrats to all you LOSERS!

I think I'm down 2.5 or 3 this week! I still have to look at my last week. I am a lifetimer just keeping track at home. Anyway, I ate poorly this week because of my six year old was home everyday - turns out it was pnuemonia - took three dr visits to figure that out! So, now I don't know why I'm down but now it is six weeks until Spring Break and WDW - made PSs, so I need to get down more so I can eat what I want then! Mushu - Food and Wine is fun - I think either time in November would be the same crowd wise. Just as long as you stay away from actual Thanksgiving.

Went for my wi on Thursday and I'm down 2.4 lbs   - - - I am so excited because I did have a larger than normal eating weekend, but I excersized my butt off during the week....(well if I really excersized my butt off I guess I wouldn't need ww....but you know what I mean :rotfl: )

Have a great week everyone & congrats to all the losers & everyone that is just determined to stick with it!!!! :cool1:

Well, since I did not stay OP any days this week, I am thrilled that I stayed the same. I am already planning ahead for next week to do better.

Tara -

I'm following the Core plan like you wouldn't believe. I used to be a Take-Out gal each night, never cooked, didn't exercise. I've got over 100 pounds to lose and when I started with WW, I took my girlfriend grocery shopping with me and we only bought foods that I could have on the Core Plan. When I got home, I brought all my 'non-Core' foods down to her house and refuse to buy them again.

I also walk on my treadmill for 100 minutes as many nights as possible and I drink water all day long. 1 Diet Pepsi in the morning and then water the rest of the day.

One additional thing was joining W.I.S.H - it's great to have this support and be able to come here every day and chat with people going through the same struggles.

I just joined WW yesterday and am very excited about it :cool1:

I've lost 62 pounds (my ticker's a little off but I'll be moving it down again soon) over the last year and a half doing Dr. Phil's Weight Loss Challenge. I've been struggling to lose these last few pounds for too long and I decided I needed to do something different. I think the Flex plan is going to be perfect for me. I love that I can eat the things I like with the perfect portion control built in. I've done WW in the past, but truthfully I didn't do it very well. Instead of eating more fruits and veggies, I was eating alot of low-point "fake foods", didn't eat whole grains, etc. My eating habits are much better now, so I think I'll be able to eat alot more healthfully. I went ahead and joined for 10 weeks, and I want to hit my 10% mark (16 pounds) by the end of that. That may be a little ambitious, but I'm prepared to work hard and step up my workouts even more then I'm already doing.

First question--would anyone mind sharing their favorite low-point breakfast foods? I need some ideas beyond cereal. One thing I must say, I've never had this few points to work with before (22). Whenever I did WW before, I was much heavier and therefore got more points. It's going to be a little bit of a learning curve. I love the fact that we have the extra 35 points a week to play with, though. I plan to have a weekly treat with my leftover points.

First, WELCOME!!! Second, CONGRATS on the awesome accomplishment! WEIGH TO GO!!!! :cheer2:

Ok, breakfast. I vary between 1/2 WW bagel (1 pt) and 1/2 english muffin (1 pt), with 0 point ICBINB spray (LOVE the stuff!), and I have 1-2 slices of pre-cooked bacon (1-2 pts), and I sometimes add (added more before while losing) a .5 - 1 pt fruit...1/2 C mandarin oranges, 1/2 large apple, 1/2 C pineapple chunks, 1 C strawberries, something fruity. What I also do is spread my breakfast out, to last until lunch. (I eat many little things, munching, as the day goes on.) So, I eat the bacon in the car on the way to work, eat the bagel at my desk, and a little later, I eat the fruit to get me to lunch. Sometimes, this is how I skip fruit, because I'm busy. Also, on the weekends at home, I sometimes have 1/2 C egg beaters, scrambled of course. I think that's 1 pt, maybe 2 tops. So, as you see, many of my choices are "to-go", and very doable. ;)

Best WISHes to you! Onward and downward!!! :grouphug:

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread. Posted on the WISH challenge last Monday that I was starting WW with a group here at work. We had our weigh-in this morning and I lost 5 lbs my first week! That was definitely motivation to keep on going.

I've found lots of great tips and encouragement on thes WISH boards. You all are a great bunch!

Wow, you look awesome! You must be so proud of yourself! :cheer2:

Thanks for the breakfast tips. I obviously need to go grocery shopping with my point calculator and dig up some low-point breads. The english muffins I have are 3 points, which is a bit much considering I still need to add a topping and they're not very filling to start with. This morning I had some whole wheat toast made with bread my mom brought me from the farmer's market. It was SO GOOD, but there was no nutritional value listed. I counted 3 points for a slice (it was pretty big) and I hope that was right.

Thomas's whole wheat light English Muffins are one point. They are very tasty. I received a tip from another dis'er that the Laughing Cow light spreadable cheese wedges are 1 point each. This is very good spread on the 1 point muffin for a 2 point breakfast. Add some fruit and you are good to go!

Hello Fellow WWers...

Todays weigh in went very well and I lost 2.8 pounds for a total of 40.6 pounds. I'm now currently at 167.4 (started at 208 in August) and am now shooting for those 150's. Only 10 weeks left till our vacation, so I need to keep it going.
