KimRaye: It's so inspiring to know that you were so successful on WW Online. Your success just goes to show that it can be done. I just have to get my act together and get there!! :moped:

Shauna, I lost the first 37 lbs in less than 4 months. YES, it CAN be done! (used my 37 lbs based on your goal of 35) ;)

Onward & Downward!!! :cheer2:

PM anytime. ;)

Hi everyone! I joined WW on 2/10 and my first weigh in after that I lost 5.8 pounds (yay me!). We have an October WDW trip scheduled and I would love to be down at least by 70 lbs by then (not sure if that is unrealistic or not). At my weigh in today however, I only lost 1 pound which is better than gaining or staying the same but after my first week went so well, I guess I was a little disappointed (because I have soooo much to lose). So, now for the embarrasing question. I believe I didn't lose as much because of the "C" word (no not chocolate) but because of not being able to "go" for a few days...sorry too much info I know. Has anyone found this has happened to them before?

Hi all I had to put off the diet mode for at least a week. Pneumonia. This time I get so depressed everytime I try to lose weight something happens. My thiorid goes wacko. Or the Dr changes my prescriptions and I go wacky LOL. Now this. The good news is my dr told me although I have to drink more fluids like juices I could make the juice 1/2 water to lessen the calories. So I put 1/2 OJ 1/2 water. I think my body is sabotaging me. :sad2:

Hope I get the all clear on Monday but it doesnt look good. When I went today I was put on another Inhaler and told if Im not better by Monday its off to the hospital. My dr now calls ME each night. (I must really be sick. I usually just get the message center when I call him. Now I get him).

I am one of those who seeks out comfort food to make them feel better. thanks for the opportunity to write it keeps my hand from my mouth. Ive already read a book a day since ive been ill. I even started to watch TV. Ive seen maybe 5 hours of TV over the past year. Now I have it on as background sound. My DH is not happy as It is the TV he watches all the time.

Congrats to all those who are sticking to the weight loss plan. :cheer2:
I found out it isnt how much you lose every week but how much you lose over the duration.

KimRaye - 35 is my first goal. I figured it would be easier for me to break all the weight up into smaller goal chunks because that means that I have the gratification of completing my goal and will feel energized to move onto the next chunk. Unfortunately, I have tons more than just 35 to lose. So much in fact that I am not completely comfortable posting it and I haven't even told DH the true number. I am just really struggling with the realization that I let myself get so far out of whack. That combined with not truly knowing how much I weigh is making it hard to set an actual goal. I can easily say that it is over 100.

HeatherPage - I'm a newbie too! Just signed up on Monday and officially starting on Sunday. To answer your question, I've had kidney stones most of my life which can occasionally cause problems with the "big C" while they are passing. (Sorry, TMI I know). I do find that it makes you gain weight because my doctors used to try to figure out why my weight was fluctuating so much when I was on a pretty-much all fluid diet and the specialist kind of gave them a big-duh look and pointed out the problem. I can't tell you how much but it does make a difference. Just wait until next week and see what your next WI says.

Well, I'm off to the store to purchase a scale to find out how much I actually weigh. I'm kind of scared because I haven't stepped on a scale in over a year and I don't know what the number is. I know I'm not going to like it and I know that I want it to change and I am willing to work hard to make that change so all in all, I think I'm on the right path.

Toodles!! :earboy2:

Good luck Shauna and thanks. You're taking one of the hardest first steps I think (just admitting to yourself what you actually weigh) after you acknowledge it you can accept it and say okay well guess what - it's not doing anything but going down from here on in. Good luck and hopefully we can both post some great numbers next week! :)

I am up one this week and I know why - I am not journaling! UGH! I think I may have to start going to meetings, os I can have the guilt factor - knowing someone else will be weighing me once a week - Having a nine month old to take along is no good, but even if I just weigh and leave that may help. 5 weeks 'til wdw! I ate too much tonight already, too! Obviously, I am not motivated enough - I am praying for better weather so I can walk next week with my friend in the am - her DH has been gone, so we haven't walked for 2 weeks - that is bad! I could walk on my own, but it's tough to work in a time of day that is safe and my baby has a cold as it is, so I'm not wanting to stroll her around - where is spring?

I only lost one pound this week (and none the previous week). But my determination is strong....I will lose this weight!!!!

:cheer2: Hang in there, everyone! You're doing great! :cheer2:

Onward and downward...baby steps.....You CAN Do It! :grouphug:

Everyone is doing great! Even if you gain a little it's okay as long as you get right back on program.!!

I'm down 1.2 this week!! :cool1:

Had my first week's weigh-in this morning and I'm down 4.4 pounds. I'd be more excited except 3 pounds of that was fluid weight I put on the day before I started (my "last hurrah"). Anyway, it's progress and I'm happy. This coming week is going to be challenging because my whole family has a cold, including me. Not sure when I'll be able to get back to the gym.

Welcome to the newbies! We are all in this together. I weigh in the day after tomorrow.

I lost 2 lbs. That is over a two week period because we didnt have WW at work on the holiday last Monday.

But it is a very siginificant loss-- I got my 50lb magnet    AND I get a new WISH clippie, too :cool1:

I'm so excited!!!!!

Hi everyone....I just got back from PA w/my Dd's--we went there for a short vacation...lots of fun...I tried to stay op :guilty:

Everyone is doing so well, I am stepping it up until Thursday for my wi so I beat my last week's .2 loss

This is usually the part where I get frustrated and binge but I am not going to do it.....I love reading all the losses on this thread and I can't wait to move my weight loss on my ticker!!!

Have a great week everybody!!!

Barbara

WEIGH TO GO, SUNNY! :cool1: MAH-VELOUS! :smooth:

I maintained this week. Boring maintenance ;), but since I went over my points this week by about 100!!!, I think that's ok. We'll see if I get clobbered next week though. :earseek:

Little story here, if you care to read (of no use or purpose though whatsoever :rotfl: ): I had 2 parties in 3 days this weekend, hence the 100 over, and I KNEW how badly I did, there's just no good choices at someone else's party :( , so I made those bad choices my binge for this ONE week. I ate some shrimp (pasta) salad that Mom made, that I LOVE, and ate some more, and took some home, and made myself eat that again for dinner (I was NOT even hungry)...you get the idea. Then, I wanted chocolate (only since Halloween!), so I took one piece of ALL the candy I've been wanting, and ate it ALL! Had to be at least 8 mini/fun size of various candies. Now, did it ALL taste good? You betcha! Did I feel guilty for eating it - No, because I planned to get it all in (my mouth - LOL) in the same one week period. However, physically I've not felt so good. Felt FULL and bloated ALL day today, where I didn't even want ANY part of the still left-over shrimp salad. :crazy2: Chocolate? I'll pass, thank you. :sad2: Anyway, MY moral is: If you're gonna do it, do it Big, do it RIGHT......and make yourself NEVER want that stuff again! :rotfl: The End

:p

FYI, right back OP today, including exercise!!! ::yes::

(See, I told you, of NO use or purpose whatsoever.) :earboy2:

Have a great week everyone!!! :sunny:

KimRaye - I think it's great that you had your "binge" and now don't want anymore. I can't wait for the day I get to that point.

Well, I've been doing the plan for almost 2 full days now. I had my first WI in over a year on Sunday and shocked the crap out of myself. I must have been delusional for thinking I weighed what I thought I did because it was actually a lot more. Anyway, I've been 100% OP since I started yesterday morning but I'll be very honest when I say that it is hard. I am constantly hungry despite drinking water constantly and finding low point munchies. And, today was my first day at a new job and they happened to have an office party for someone's birthday. I ate a very small burrito and half of a small piece of cake and it still shot my points to he@# and back and now I'm trying to fit in dinner with almost no points and completely starving.

So, do y'all find that you use your Weekly Points at one time or a few here and there? Right now I'm stealing a couple at a time to make my day work. If I keep at that, I'll still have some left at the end of the week. I was just hoping that I could get by without using them at all and that's just not working. What works for y'all? Please help out the newbie!

Anyway, good job and good luck!!

Cheers!

Thanks Shauna! ;) Binge it was! Now, although everyone is different, I say USE your FLEX points! I have EVERY WEEK (many times MORE) for over 13 months, and I've lost 78.5 lbs, 6.5 on maintenance since right before C'Mas. The points are there for a reason, and I think everyone NEEDS them. In the beginning, I would give myself 5 a day = 35 a week. Worked for me. I had AT LEAST 72 lbs to lose though, so I think this higher goal meant different things for me. In effect though, it's taught me that I CAN do this, everyday! Eating what I want, but counting/weighing/measuring everything along the way. Planning and organizing have been KEY for me! Plan Ahead, you must!, to stay OP! You can't let the day take YOU away, you must TAKE the day into your hands! (sorry to sound preachy, but I hope it helps you or someone else here) ;) .

Honestly, the hardest part is losing points along the way! I would joke/think, "GREAT, lesser points is my REWARD?", but it worked, you adjust, it becomes your new way of life. Now I only have personal experience with this being long-term, so when someone only does this short-term, for lesser weight loss goals, it might not become a life-style, and just a temporary diet, but for me, I've changed. Heck, I'm still exercising more than 12 months later, after starting!

Best WISHes to you on your Onward and Downward adventure! We're RIGHT HERE for you!

You SHOULD be excited! Way to go, Sunny!

Everyone, please keep your fingers crossed for my weigh-in tonight. Only .8 to go for my 10%... If I pull it off tonight with my current thyroid problems, it would make me that much more happy!

Also, off topic a bit - MIL & FIL just joined WW! Maybe now they will stop tempting me with "bad" food. They mean well, just the type that sabotages you without knowing it.

I find that I usually use some of my weekly points here and there. I, too, was sorta disappointed when I realized I would have to use some of my weekly points, but one lady at our meeting uses all of her points, her weekly points, and all of her activity points, and still loses about a pound a week. Whether I use the points are not, I am glad they are there. it helps me not feel deprived. I weigh in again on Thursday.
