You GO Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've taken the next step in my weight loss process. Joined a gym. I'm was a little hesitant to sign up for a year, so I did the month to month plan. I figure in 3 months, if I'm really into it then I will sign up for a year and get the discounted price. I'd rather spend $10 a month more now and lose $30 then to sign up for $750 find out I'm really not into it and lose $750.

For this week, I've mentally committed to 4 days, Tuesday, Thursday, Fri and Sat. I'm really only into the treadmill and the bike but I am going to take a spin class on Tuesday evening.

For those of you that exercise regularly how do you count the WW Activity Points. I've noticed the gym gives a calorie count on the machines. I was going to count 1 pt for every 100 calories burnt. Does this make sense to the rest of you?

Well done! I really should join a gym. I really enjoy the recumbent bikes, they don't put too much weight on my knees. Unfortunately, with $$ being tight, it's not happening for me right now. As for the points, that sounds really good. When I'm on my treadmill I tend to give myself an activity point for every 75 calories burnt, so I think I may be "over rewarding" myself! :rotfl2:

I had my first gain this week. I was kind of expecting it, but it still make me feel bad. I had my class reunion Saturday, and although I didn't really overeat I had 3 margaritas and 3 beers over the course of the night. I hadn't used any of my extra points during the week, though, so I probably would have been okay if I had stopped there. However, yesterday I just felt hungry all day and snacked way too much. I'm committed to doing better this week, though. Wish me luck!

I've heard that the problem with drinking is that it does eat to over eating. I bet the weight is not real weight gain but a combination of salt and water weight. Stay on program this week and I'm sure next week the weight will be gone.

I had my first weigh in today and I lost 3.2 pounds! :cool1::cool1: I was a little worried because my home scale doesn't give me the same numbers as the scale at WW. I wasn't really sure how much I had lost this week.

Hi all!
Hopping in on this thread as a newbie. :)

This past Monday was my first official weight watchers meeting and my starting weight is 249.6 :scared1:

Way higher than what I thought I weighed! Anyone ever look in the mirror and say to yourself "yeah, there's no way I weigh that much".....yeah that was me :lmao:

Had a couple of struggles this week but having a really good day so far today so I am excited to see what the rest of the week brings and what the scale says next week!!!!

Well..I've been away and haven't got to post last weeks loss.
Weighed in on 6/25 and lost another 2, so that makes 7lbs down....63 to go!

I've lost 10% of what I want to lose....28 sticks of butter...hmm, how else can i measure. :goodvibes

Welcome to all our new posters and congradulations to those who have had some recent losses.

Well it seems I gained .8 ....what heck...I have been working out religiously and watching my points. I am even on teh 10K a day program and have been averaging 7000 steps a day. Could it be that I am gaining muscles? water gain? What.

Good for you! I am not good at calculating AP's, perhaps becasue I am not as focused when it comes to exercise. Keep going!

It's okay, I bet it is water and salt retention as well. Life happens, just hop back on the bus!

Good job! Try not to get on your home scale if you are weighing in at a meeting. This way you don't get worried about what you saw

Hi all!

Welcome! You are going to feel so much better as you take this journey!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You lost a family pack of hamburger! A large roasting chicken! A gallon of milk! Need any more?????

Your muscles will weigh more. If you look at a photo of one pound of fat vs one pound of muscle the fat takes about three times the mass as the muscle.

I would worry about how much you are eating. Are you using all of your 35 WP's? Using your AP's? You will not lose if you are not eating enough so try to make sure you getting enough fodd to fuel your body.

.I missed the meeting this week, and honestly I really needed it. I am having a war with myself, I am always hungry, always looking for something sweet and fighting with myself to eat an orange rather than ice cream or a cookie. It has been a long time since I had this battle so I am not looking forward to this weekend. We have guests for a special meal and several picnics.

How about the rest of you, are you prepared for the 4th?

I had a 2lb gain this week, but I expected it from "monthly fluctuations". Actually, normally it's about 3, so I'll consider it a win! :lmao: I'm sticking with the plan and working on figuring out what I can do to stay on points while enjoying the long weekend. Only big problem day is our tickets to see the Yankees/Blue Jays game tomorrow. But at least I'll do lots of walking!

If you use WW e-tools, you can get the activity points value for most activity. I use the original tools, so just click into the activity section and search your activity. For instance, for me, 30 mins on the treadmill is 1 activity point. However, it is based on your current weight. If you are a WW member, I believe that the e-tools are free. I can't say for sure, though. I have a monthly pass, so it was included.

My first week on maintenance showed a gain of .2 lbs. I'm not excited about it, since I don't think I can weigh EXACTLY the same from week to week. 5 more weeks and I'll be Lifetime.

Kudos to all of you that have taken steps to improve your health, either by joining WW or starting an exercise program. You are well on the road to good health and subsequent weight loss.

Fellow WWer's HELP!!! I need some encouragement. I am soooo depressed, ready to give up and dreading going to weigh in tomorrow.

I am afraid I have gained the whole 4 lbs back that I lost!! :scared1:I don't have a scale at home right now so don't have a clue what my weight is.

It all started a week ago today--my first grandchild (girl, 6lbs 5 oz and 19 inches) was born last Sunday morning at 4:32 a.m :yay:.

That was a wonderful thing but I have had a heck of a time getting back on program. After over 12 hours at the hospital and being up all night, ww was just not on the agenda those two days. I was ready to get back on plan that Monday but something as sabotaged me all week! Some days are fine, others not too good. I see this next week straightening out and getting back to normal but I almost want to skip weighing in. (I skipped last week for this very reason and now realize I shouldn't have).

I am determined not to give up and know that I have got to get some things in the house so that getting off schedule doesn't mean getting off plan anymore. I think I know where I messed up and what I need to do to fix it (but any suggestions would be great!). I just hate to face those scales and those weigh in ladies tomorrow. I feel like they are going to be thinking "well, here she goes again." UGGGGHHHHH. I am so mad at myself!!

I HAVE to lose this weight!!! This grandbaby gives me more reason than ever to lose the weight so that I will be healthy and be able to get out and play with her.

First off congradulations on your new grandchild. She a wonderful moment in your life.

OK let's get down to business. You admit you have no idea if you have had a gain or how much. What is the worst that it can be you've gained back your original loss and maybe some more. It doesn't matter, you acknowledge it, you move on. Don't let this moment in time become a 50 lb weight gain. You can do this. Get on the scale, acknowlge the moment no matter what it will be and move on.

You know what I did yesterday, I ate 51 pts. At one point, I was eating like a druken sailor and you know what when I got up this morning I said to my husband, I felt like i had a hang over. I hadn't had one drop of liquor (heck I'd rather eat my points then drink 'em) but you know what I charted every one of them. Ate all my daily points yesterday (ya think!) and a good part of my weekly's but you know what so maybe I'll be up on the scale Thursday. It is not going to stop me from going to my meeting and weighing in. Today, I got up-- ate normal (Ok I did drop down to weight loss pt vs. maintenance pts) and went to the gym and earned 7 Activity Pts. It's all about giving and taking. Move forward, don't stop. This program works.

Don't worry about the ladies and the scales, who cares what they think. It's what you think about yourself that is more imporatant. you are facing your situation and building upon it. Go shopping and buy on program foods for the week. Prepare them, build in some "ww friendly treats" don't deprive yourself. Hell with everything I ate yesterday, I made sure I've got 2 pts left today for my WW treat.

Good luck to you. Go weigh in and report back here. Not one of us will say "there she goes again" we'll all be saying "Good for her, she's working the program, no matter what"
