WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, Mary Anne and tink1963! :)

Well, I'm rounding out my 2nd day with WW, and I feel like I have been alotted too many points! I have been given 26, and I find it difficult to use them all up using healthy, good foods. For example, today I had: breakfast- cottage cheese and fresh sliced pears, with chocolate soy milk. For lunch, I had hummus with whole wheat pita and some baby carrots. I had a special K bar mid afternoon, and a "smart ones" meal for dinner, with a side of steamed broccoli I added to it.

I know that my points are so high because of my weight, but I just am not hungry enough to eat up all the points! Having more food when I'm not hungry seems counterintuitive, and I know that won't help me lose weight... What a strange paradox!

KGH what I was told to do when I was at your point level is to eat WHOLE foods to get the points in. Meaning eat a real yogurt for 2 or 3 points not a WW lite one for 1 point, do not eat light bread, add an extra Good Fat to the salad you are having. Those are GOOD points who will work for you not against you. For breakfast make sure the cottage cheese is reg not fat free or add a slice of whole wheat bread to the meal. Lunch add a a point or two of protein, I admit I eat the WW dinners a couple of times a week but add stuff to it, like the veggies with good oil on it. How many points do you have left? It's early yet (well in NY it is just 8 pm) make sure you have a snack before dinner.

I get 20 points a day,

This is how I spent mine
Breakfast - oatmeal made with Water (I like it better that way) 2 points

Lunch = 4 pts
Arnold's whole grain pita 1 pt
2 points worth of WW cheese
1 point worth of Turkey Pepperoni
some salsa
(I made an English Muffin Pizza out of it)

Snack = I had a 2 point Chex Mix bar It was a sample and it was great. I am definately going to buy them for a candy bar fix!

Late afternoon snack was a ww yogurt - 1 pt

For dinner (9 pts total) I made
a grilled burger but I really wanted a Italian meat ball so I baked it in some Italian sauce and it was delicious. I counted it as 5 pts
I then steamed some asparagus and added my 2 health fats and some garlic powder
I had another arnold whole grain pita to give dip in the left over tomato sauce 1 pt.

I still have 2 pts left so I will have another yogurt (1 pt WW) and I have a baked apple in the oven (I've become addicted to them) (I just core them and add some cinnamon (ok a LOT of cinnamon)

I earned 3 activity points today so I will then have a 1 pt WW treat before I go to bed.

I've eaten this way for close to 7 months now and it works!

I weighed in today and I'm down a half pound. Not bad considering I didn't stay OP on Thanksgiving Day. My goal for the next month is to not gain. So far, so good!

I always say any loss is a good loss, especially right after a holiday, so congrats!

I am with you for your goal this month, I feel if I can just maintain through the holidays I will be good to go in January. As hard as it is I am determined to keep trying.

Hello all!
Just wanted to introduce myself... I joined WW this morning, so I am just getting started and learning all about the program. But I just have to say I have been reading all the WW posts, and I think it is great that dis has a WW community for support and encouragement. I'd been thinking about joining WW for a while, and the other day I noticed this thread, and that was the deciding factor for me... knowing there is such a great, supportive group of people on my beloved disboards!!! I'd love to be a part of such an inspirational group, and I feel like the WW program is something I could manage. Here's hoping I'll be seeing alot more of you guys... and hopefully, less of myself! ;)

:welcome: Congratulations to you for joining WW, I commend you for doing it during the holidays too, that shows great committment on your part. This board and this thread in particular is like a lifeline for me, I have been visiting the WISH board for almost 5 years now and it has been a huge part of my success. Best of luck to you on your journey!

Welcome! Glad you have decided to join in. It is a great group here and everyone is very supportive.

Well for the 2nd time since last May when I joined I had a weight gain. .4 for the Thanksgiving week. I have no problem with it and I too feel if I come out on the other side of Jan 1 with a flat weight loss/gain, I will consider it a victory. I could have eaten everything in sight and I know I did not do that. I did have a lot of meals that were not home prepared the ENTIRE week and did the best I could. That is a LIVE-it not a diet.

Hope everyone is having a good on program week.

Mary Anne, you have been so successful to date and .4 is barely a drop so you should be proud of yourself for all you have accomplished. Live it, not diet is a wonderful motto because it is so true....we are embarked on a lifestyle not a diet because diets don't last, lifestyle changes do.

Mary Anne is so right about getting in your good points, you really need to do that. The points are there for a reason and you really need to use them all, you would be suprised at your weight loss when you use all of your points as opposed to not using them all. If you are exercising on a regular basis you should consider using some of your activity points or some of your flex points, it truly makes a huge difference on the scale at the end of the week.

Thanks Tigger & MaryAnne, I'll definatley maske more of an effort to use my points that way... it makes sense!

But don't commend me for starting WW in the middle of the holidays... I seem to have forgotten the season temporarily, and now I am in a pickle! I will be spending christmas and and new years, two weeks total, in Europe with my dbf, visisting his family. For over a year now, dbf has been telling me about all the food his mom will make, how insulted she'll be if i don't eat or like it... worst part, i probably won't have my laptop, so there won't be a good way to track and look up all the strange foods. YIKES! Maybe I'll find a way to bring the computer... atleast then I can keep track of all the awful stuff... oh maaaaaan!

Had my first WI (after 4 days, not a full week, since I chose to do my WIon mondays...) and I was down 2.8. I'm excited about this, it's a start!

KGH, do the best you can while you are away. Taste everything but don't feel like you have to eat it ALL. If you do nothing else while you are away, drink your water. No matter what make sure you come back here when you return. Don't let the 2 weeks become 2 years and another 50 lbs to have to deal with. Trust me, I've been there and done that.

Congratulations on losing 2.8#, that is a great start.

Where in Europe are you going? I lived in Europe for 8-1/2 years and know what the challenges can be with all of that tempting food. My advice to you is to research the country/region you are going to so you can get an idea in your head of what foods are better choices than others. I am also all too familiar with your hosts feeling you need to eat everything in front of you, but you have to think about yourself as well, taste everything, but by all means do not feel pressured into eating it all. This is your body, you are the one that has to walk around with the consequences of your eating, not your hostess. Have your DBF explain to his mother up front that you are trying to eat healthy and that you appreciate all of her efforts, but please not to be offended if you do not over indulge. You can also take advantage of exercise, Europeans like to walk, so get on your comfy shoes, go sight seeing and walk your little heart out!!

Thanks for all the advice, guys! :)

I'll be in Berlin, Germany for 2 weeks. I'm going with DBF, who was raised there till his teen years. Most of his family is still there, so that is who we will be seeing and staying with. My biggest concern is that his mom cooks all sorts of crazy things, and it is all going to be so unfamiliar to me! But I'll definately make it a point to drink a ton of water, and hopefully lots of walking around the city too!

And you can bet I'll be back here just as soon as I get back in the States!

I love the "It's a live-it, not a diet" thing... i think that really sums up the message of how you are really changing what you eat and how you exercise to be a healthier, happier you, and just eating less to lose weight.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! :)

Had my weigh-in this morning and I'm down a pound. It's coming off one pound at a time, but I'll take it (especially at this time of the year).

Hi All!
I'm sorry that I have not been n lately. I have not been to a meeting in two weeks, I am trying to get everything here done before I leave. I will get back on track after vacation.

Have a great week!

Great job.:cheer2: :cheer2:

I have my meeting today and I'm really looking forward to going. I think my WI will be on the down side.:woohoo:
And I get the new program materials today too. I always look forward to what is rolled out at this time of year.
Even thought it is not major changes, something different always seems to kick me back in gear.
I will report later today to how I did.

I'm taking my Auntie Christmas shopping tomorrow and I hope that will put me into the holiday season mood. :santa:

back from my first weigh-in since Late October, when I just quit trying. I've gained 4 pounds since then, not terrible given what I've eaten and the time, but I must get back on the program.

Congrats to all those who have stayed on program and made progress--you are my inspirations!

Hey there. I haven't checked in since early October, I think. I've been attending meetings but haven't been sticking too well with the plan. The plus side is that my weight didn't go up since September, so I'm maintaining a 30-pound loss. The bad side -- obviously -- is that I haven't been sticking with the program 100 percent.

I do know that without WW I would have gained a good 20 these past few months, so I'm grateful for that. The Momentum plan is starting at a good time for me. I'm trying to get back on track with journaling and hope to actually take a couple pounds off this week. Time will tell.

Congrats to all of you working so hard and sticking with it, you are doing fabulous! And like you said, this is about life, not about a diet!

Keep up the great work!:cheer2:

Hey Everyone!
So...i have decided to re join WW in January 1. i am getting married next October and 2. since being off it i have gained back the measly 10 lbs i managed to lose. my goal is to lose 40 lbs by my wedding..it sounds so daunting but thats the situation. ANYWAY..i am planning on signing up for the online WW..anyone do it that way and found it to be successful? Do they calculate how many pts . you are alloted for you? Also how is the "new improvements" this year..the new momentum plan or something? Thanks for any advice you may have!

I do both the meetings and the online. They online is really nice and there are a great bunch of people on some of the board there.
