WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Tiggerlover, I tried Flex a long time ago and was way too good at manipulating the points so that I could get in my snacks. Needless to say I was not successful. Now I have been on CORE for about 20 weeks and have lost 20 pounds. I like it because either it is CORE or it isn't. Better for me all the way around.

I hear you about manipulating those points to get the treats, I think that is why I plateaued (sp?) in maintenance. I would always save points for some awesome sweet treat at night and I think that did me in. Congrats on your weight loss on Core, that is fantastic. You are right, it is either Core or not!

:welcome: missnarwhale and jiminykrikkit! It is always great to see this thread grow! missnarwhale, I think most of us has had the re-gain issue, you get that comfort zone and think it will be alright and before you know it....bam, so you are in good company. If you lost it once you will be successful again and what better place to be to do that. jiminykrikkit, love recipes, so anything you have that is husband (and child) friendly I would love to hear about!

This is so delicious and filling. My husband loves it. I usually freeze it in individual servings (gladware bowls) so I can take it to work for lunches.

WTG Stacerita!!

I love sharing recipes. I hope y'all like them!

I'm kind of not really about losing anything this week. We're leaving on Friday for WDW and we're doing Narcoossee's, California Grill, Citricos (among others) along with the wine add on AND we're staying in Sugar Loaf at GF so we'll be getting to enjoy all their lounge goodies. Plus, I'm having the GF bakery recreate our wedding cake topper as a suprise for DH on our anniversary.

SOOOO...I think I'll start counting points when I get back. LOL I'm not going crazy this week and eating tons though, I've been maintaining so far.

Here's another recipe we like:

Mexican Rice Casserole

1 lb extra lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
8 oz canned tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1 packet taco seasoning
1 tbsp chili powder
1 cup instant rice, uncooked
1 cup shredded fat free cheese

Brown ground beef in skillet with onions. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker except rice and cheese. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Add rice, stir and re-cover and cook until rice is tender. Sprinkle with cheese, re-cover and let sit until cheese melts.

Serves 8 at 4 points each.

I think this may be Core as long as you use brown rice (we do) and haven't used your ground meat selection that day. Also, the taco seasoning isn't Core, but it is 0 WPA when spread out over 8 servings (or use your own spices like cumin instead).

Went to weigh in today......loss .8 pounds. Total of 5.2. Its a good start.

excellent start!

Thanks for this recipe, it looks like one my family would really enjoy.

WI was last night and I was down 1.2 pounds. I'm feeling kind of like the Turtle in the turtle and the rabbit. I have been able to keep going down but not as fast as some of the others, slow and steady instead. I am less than 7 pounds from goal so I am a little worried that I will really slow down soon.

That's a great loss! If I've learned anything doing WW over the years it's that losses like that are awesome. Sometimes you might not even lose at all. WW recommends losing between 0 and 2 lbs a week. They say anything faster is too fast (save the first week or two when it's all water weight coming off anyways).

Don't be discouraged! Just remember, the longer the weight takes to come off, the longer it will stay off. Just keep at it and you'll make goal. Show those 7 lbs who's boss! LOL

Good morning everyone!!

I've missed this thread over the summer. It's been crazy and busy, and I have been totally out of control on my eating. For the past year, I was doing ww on my own, and today I rejoined ww and know that I need the meetings to stick with it. I gained 17.2 pounds since I last weighed in there last august, but am still down 20.6. I was surprised I was still in their computer, and will have my weight loss from the last time in the computer.

I hope you all have had a good summer. Congratulations to all who have stuck with the program and are losing!! You are inspiring me!!

I hope to be around more now that my son is back in school, and I'll have a little computer time in the mornings again.

Have a great day and keep up the great work!! :cheer2:

Good Morning, I hope I can join your group! :yay: I just started Weight Watchers today, online, on the Flex Plan.

I'm not sure many pounds I want to lose, but would really like to fit into a size 8/10. I'm currently a size 14....a snug 14. I'm getting married in May of 09, so I'd really, really like to accomplish that by then. I'm not expecting any miracles, and know slow and steady wins the race!

I look forward to reading everyones sucesses.

I am determined that the 7 will come off! When I started this I had decided that this was a lifestyle change for me, I needed to make healthy choices so weight loss is a bonus.

I am a firm believer in slow and steady. I have been a steady loser ;) for a while now.

COngrats on the loss Nancy!

Welcome Tink Kel! I am in a snug 14 (usually a 16) too. Hoping to lose some of this weight by May as well!!
Congrats on your upcoming wedding! How exciting!!

WOO HOO!!! Reached my 10% today. After adjusting my daily points, I have finally seen the needle moving down. My original goal was 10% by Labor Day, so I met that milestone. On my way to total goal of 54 pounds. Have no special occasions or trips until early November, so I will be able to stay on track until our Disney trip on 11/2.

Good luck to everyone! Love reading everyone's journey.

Yay, it will be fun encouraging each other! Thank you! My wedding is going to be very small, and very informal, but very special!

I think I was the poster child for slow and steady!!! Slow and steady really wins in the end and although it can be discouraging to lose slower than those around you it pays off in the end. Hang in there Nancyg56, you have come this far and you can reach that goal, just be patient and keep doing what you are doing and you will be a success.

Congrats Stacerita, every loss is to be celebrated and you are definitely off to a great start.

WB Mik, it is sooooooooooooooooooooo good to see you posting again. I hope the remainder of your summer was great and that you find your routine once again.

:welcome: Tink_Kel, great to see another WW on board! Congratultions on your upcoming wedding, how exciting that is!!

I want to welcome all the new members to the thread.

I'm extremely busy at at work the next week and a half (we're moving) but I'll try and pop in when I can. Hope everyone has a great on program week ahead of them.

Thank you tiggerlover! Actually, I too, am going to be wed to a retired Military man! Gregg just retired in June. We both work at Fort Leonard Wood now. Congratulations on your success, you've done fantastic! :woohoo:

Down .6 this week, yay for the travelling journal!

I do have a question I am hoping you all can help me answer. I was told today that I either have prediabetes or early diabetes. I have an appointment with a dietician next Friday. The doctor said that I can work with the guidelines and do weight watchers. I'm wondering how this will affect doing weight watchers. What types of changes should I expect?
