So far I am down 28 pounds, but I have gotten really off-track lately due to high amounts of stress and need to start counting points again.
:welcome: Congratulations on your fabulous 28 pound loss!! This is a really fun and supportive thread. I've been off track for about 4 months, but now my work pants are tight, and I will not buy more, so I'm back and will stick it out this time. Hope the stress decreases soon, and you'll get back on track. Good luck.

I do have a question I am hoping you all can help me answer. I was told today that I either have prediabetes or early diabetes. I have an appointment with a dietician next Friday. The doctor said that I can work with the guidelines and do weight watchers. I'm wondering how this will affect doing weight watchers. What types of changes should I expect?
My brother just was told this about 3 months ago, and the diet the dietician reccommended is very similar to the core ww foods. He's really just cutting carbs and fat, eating healthier carbs, and has lost about 20 pounds and his blood work is improved. I think it would be fairly easy to incorporate their reccommendations into the ww plan, since ww is a healthy eating plan. Good luck, and congrats on your loss!!

I'm extremely busy at at work the next week and a half (we're moving) but I'll try and pop in when I can.
Hope the move goes well for you. Congrats on your awesome loss to date!! 34.8 pounds is wonderful. You are doing so well!!

WB Mik, it is sooooooooooooooooooooo good to see you posting again. I hope the remainder of your summer was great and that you find your routine once again.
Thanks Debbi. It feels great to be back on track, and I'm going to stick with the meetings this time. I will be able to go to the same meeting every wednesday, which will hopefully keep me motivated. I was late yesterday, but it seems like a nice bunch of people, and I really like the leader. It is good to see you back as well. Here's to a wonderful losing fall!!

WOO HOO!!! Reached my 10% today.
Congratulations leanne!! That is an accomplishment to celebrate!!

Have a wonderful, losing day everyone!!

I had a backsliding week.

I gained 2.6 lbs. Oops.

I had more days off program than I did on.

My total loss is stil 68 lbs.

I will do better this week. I HAVE to! :scared:

Have a great week!

Heimlich: We all have those weeks. The important thing is to focus on the big picture. 68 pounds gone- that's awesome!

mikamah - sorry about the tight pants, I'll be getting back on the bandwagon with you. I think that's why I sought out this board, I need some extra support. I haven't been able to attend meetings in ages because I haven't had anyone to watch the kids, and I'm sure that's not helping.

I'm determined to attend the meeting this week, I'm sure that will help!

Ms. Heimlich - congrats to you on such a significant weight loss! Weeks of gaining bite, but when you look at how far you have come, it makes the struggles well worth it. I'll join you in buckling down this week.

Eeyores Butterfly - glad the traveling journal worked well for you. Good for you for sticking with it!

My weigh in after one week....DOWN 2.6 lbs!! WWOOOO HOOO!:woohoo:

I am encouraged to keep going. I see my downfall is planning foods and not knowing point values. I went to the grocery store today and bought lots of fresh veggies and froze two boxes of blueberries...and stocked up on WW snacks.

Eyeore's Butterfly...I see from your sig...you are like me...a lover of the Polynesian!! I was fortunate enough to stay several times in concierge there...I took a job at Disney just so I could get the discount on the WDW trips! :wizard:

Anyhow, have a cruise coming up next week ALASKA...I am hoping that I don't stray too far off course!

/
Congradulation Jo! That's great. Just make some good choices on the cruise and you'll be fine.

The scale gods were good to me this week. 2.2 lbs. That's now a total of 37lbs. When they ask me at the meetings how I am staying on track, I tell them I track every bit in my journal, drink my water and weigh my foods. I've also started counting steps and try and get the 10,000 in each day with a monthly goal of 400,000. I'm not into the gym yet, hopefully someday, but at this point any movement is good.

My success story is that we are having a jeans dress down day tomorrow. I own ONE pair of jeans, size 2x -- no way could I wear them, they are falling off me. So I made it a point to actually leave my office at lunch today, walk 4 blocks to a Dress Barn in search of a pair of jeans. When I walked in I asked the floor lady if they had them and she points me to a few racks. Asked me what size I was and I just laughed and said I had no idea. She said I was a 14/16 -- no way I thought. I've been wearing 22 and 24. Well, holy cow she was right! I bought two pairs one a in size 16 and one in another size size 14/16. Best part was I saw some really beautiful business outfits that I can wear but the largest size were 14. So I now have a goal to keep on program to be able to buy one of those outfits. Tell me something though have they changed what they call sizes now. Years ago no way were these a 14. I wore a 14 for years and I doubt I could get in them now. In any case, I'll take the new size 14!

Congratulations on Gregg's retirement, that is quite an accomplishment and one to be very proud of. I have never heard of Fort Leonard Wood, what state is that in? Will you two have a military wedding?

Eeyores Butterfly, congrats on the loss this week! Sorry I can't offer you any information in regards to your condition and WW, I do have a friend who is diabetic and giving WW a try, but I really do not know any specifics. Your leader and/or doctor should be able to guide you (and hopefully someone here has some first hand experience). [Edited because I see Mik answered your question.}

Man, retirement for my DH is 8 years away from the ANG(full time) You guys are lucky!

natenapril, it will start going quickly soon, then you will wonder where the time went. I remember the day my DH left for boot camp and now he is retired 3-1/2 years, time just seems to fly by before you realise it.

gottalovethem, congrats on your 28# loss, that is terrific. I think we all get derailed at one time or another, good thing is you are on the right thread to help guide you back on track!

Here, here, Mik, I am all for a losing fall!

{{{{{{{{Ms. Heimlich}}}}}}}}}:grouphug:

:cool1: Jovo and Mary Ann:banana: Weigh to go!!!!

Mary Ann, it is wonderful when the sizes drop so much, really helps the motivation. Congrats on your success to date.

Off topic........

Mary Ann, is there anything special to see and do in NYC in the spring? We were just there last week and DS is already wanting to go back, so we were thinking of going back in the spring. He said he definitely wanted to go to Central Park and I am guessing it would be pretty in spring (I have only been in winter). There is just so much to see and do in NY it is hard to decide.

Congratulations Jovo on your awesome loss this week!!

Maryanne- Congrats on your great loss this week. You are doing so well. Enjoy your new size!!

Ms. H.- hugs to you on your gain. You have done fantastic to lose68 pounds. You'll get back on and lose that again.

Tiggerlover- I'm sure Maryanne will have some great advice on NY, but we went in may for a day, and had planned to do a couple things, but went to central park first, and spent the whole day there. It was beautiful, and my son and niece absolutely loved climbing all the rocks, and we did the zoos. We probably only saw a quarter of the park from looking at the map, but it was a beautiful day, and I was amazed at how huge and gorgeous the park was.

gottalovethem- It is tough to go to the meeting with the little ones. How old are yours? This is a great place to come and get the support without having to keep the kiddos quiet.

WAY TO GO! What you've just described has been my FAVORITE part of this journey... I love needing smaller clothes (rather than larger ones...):yay: :yay:

Keep on truckin':drive:

Mary Anne, that is just amazing!! WOOO HHOOOO!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

No, I don't think that size 14 has changed, but your perspective is off. I feel the same way, I look at things and think, NO WAY did I ever fit into that teeny thing...(married at 122 lbs 20 years ago, and gained 11 pounds for the pregnancy...actually had a tough time keeping weight on, but quitting smoking and my thyroid starting to die was the end of that era!

I remember freaking out that I could wear a size 18 ( I lost 20 pounds on WW last year).

I am bad at tracking, I keep losing my book, I am eating at work more than I am at home, (and I am at work more than here!)

TiggerLover: In May Revlon puts on an AWESOME Run/Walk for women's cancers...you walk right through Central Park, all the way through, up from 42nd street up 7th Ave. It is a great time, and they give out all sorts of goodies on the way. It is the first Saturday in May. I am a team Captain if you would like to join, let me know. MaryAnne and I have walked that walk a couple of times. :yay:

I will do better this week. I HAVE to! :scared:

Have a great week!

68 pounds! Wow, what an accomplishment. Don't feel badly about one week, everyone has that week where everything looks so good and the good choices don't look so good. You had yours and now you can jump back in!

I am encouraged to keep going. I see my downfall is planning foods and not knowing point values. I went to the grocery store today and bought lots of fresh veggies and froze two boxes of blueberries...and stocked up on WW snacks.

That's what I do. I tend to want to snack and if there are healthy choices in the house I do better. I make sure to hit the grocery store and the produce market at least once a week and stock up.

My success story is that we are having a jeans dress down day tomorrow. I own ONE pair of jeans, size 2x -- no way could I wear them, they are falling off me. You have me tearing up! The 14 is the same, you are different! Congratulation's your wonderful NSV!

I have to share, your story is like my DD's. She was wearing the same clothes and they were shabby and baggy. Her DH dragged her to the store and she kept trying on pants but they looked awful. Finally the saleslady told her that they would continue to look like that until she tried on a smaller size. She was dumbfounded, it never occurred that she had dropped so many sizes! Like you, she was seeing herself the way she looked before WW, not at all the reality of her size and shape now. She told me she has not been this weight since 9th grade!

Attaining your new goal is going to be so much fun when you are shopping!

Jovo – that walk sounds great. Too bad I’m too many states away. Good for you on being a team captain. Good luck with the planning.

Mary Anne – congratulations on such an amazing weight loss! Love that smaller size. I have lost 29 and haven’t really had to change clothes at all YET. I hope that will change soon. Of course, things aren’t nearly as tight as they were before, and my undergarments are getting baggier, so that’s something (sorry if TMI LOL).

Nancy – congrats to your DD for going down to a size she hadn’t worn since 9th grade, that’s amazing! Success stories are so very encouraging.

Mikamah – I have three kiddos, ages 3, 5 and 7 (and I’m a single mom, LONG story), so I am quite busy with them! Love them dearly tho  Have you been able to get back on track this week? I did better yesterday and have plans of drinking tons of water today….I weigh in on Sundays so I’m hoping I can at least call it even, but I’m not too hopeful on that.

Tiggerlover – have fun planning a trip to NY this spring. I used to live there and would love to take the kids at some point. Top of the Empire State Building at night to see the lights is pretty cool – and seeing a Broadway show after buying tickets from the discounted TKTS booth…oh the list goes on! Where will you stay. That’s what I’m not sure…where we would stay when we go.

Heimlich – Hope you are having a great weekend.

So, how does one officially join WISH?

Hi just wanted to let everyone know I am down .6 didn't think it would be much for than that since I lost 7.4 the week before so at least it was a loss and I am happy with that. Great job to everyone else keep up the good work.

daisy2- Congrats on your loss!! 8 pounds in two weeks is amazing. Keep up the great work!:thumbsup2

gottalovethem-I am a single mom to one boy who's 6, and it can be crazy and and overwhelming at times, I can't imagine how busy it is with 3. Kids are wonderful and like you said, you love them to pieces, but they can definitely add some stress to your life. I find when my son is acting up, that's when I want to escape and it is usually food that rescues me. I'm working on that though. Hope your weighin goes well today.

I am following core, but yesterday had a little snacking binge, and used up 15 flex points. I have my nephews birthday party today, and I only have 10 flex points left for it, so I'm going to eat before I go, and either have one piece of pizza or a piece of cake. I was planning to have a couple beers, but I'm going to stick with water, and that way I will keep my wits about me and stay on track. I did a 60 min watp tape this morning, so I can use those 4 activity points too.

Have a great losing day!:)

Jo, are you doing the monthly pass? If so you can use the online WW site to find the point value of just about everything. If not, BUY the book in the center. I use both the online and the book and always know the point count of everything I am eating. I also do the journaling online, I always have a computer near me, both at work and at home so I don't have to worry about the paper. I am now 111 days on program and I have journaled every single one of them. I really believe that has been the key to my success, journaling, point tracking and water. (one of these days I will add actual exercise other then walking to my list. -- that is my challenge)

Nancy 56, I know exactly how your DD was feeling. Even now I do see a change sometimes in my reflections but not always. My face shows it the most (wish it were my GIRLS :rotfl: ) Even my husband this morning said, "wow, you face is so much smaller -- guess he likes my GIRLS the way they are :woohoo: )

tigerlover what part of the spring were you planning on coming. There is so much to do here in the city but I have to be honest sometimes we don't always have a Spring. March and April can be kind of iffy if you know what I mean. We say March winds and April showers brin May flowers. Let me know if you're going to be in the midtown area, I work right in Rockefeller Center, I'd love to say hello! In fact if you would like to attend a WW meeting while you are here, please let me know. I will hook you up!

Ms. Heimlich (((hug))) Next week will be better

mikamah, you have a plan that is the key. You already know you have to make a choice. Either pizza or the cake.

Daisy2 - that great about the .6 loss. I look at those lower loss weeks after a high one as my body telling me the larger loss was for REAL and not just water. It takes a week or so for the body to get to the next weight loss drop after a large one. At least that's the wayit i for my body.

Hope everyone has a great on program Sunday. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks Mikamah and Maryanne that is what I was thinking too. A big loss like that should follow a small loss. I was thinking it would be a small loss and it was.
