Was showing one key per family sufficient? Or do all the little kids have to have their own key to?

I believe everyone has to have a room key - or at least everyone over the age of 3. We all had to show our room keys the past couple of trips.

They give everyone over the age of three a key... It has to be shown as a sort of ID for EMH and in package cases will also be your tickets for the parks as well as what youll need to hand over to pay for meals if you have the dining plan

Just back, DH could only put his hand on his and one DD's immediatel, they made us step aside until he dug the other two out of his wallet. No getting around it, our AP's wouldn't suffice. :(

We just returned and there were 3 of us, and they asked for 3 IDs (11 year old GS and 2 adults). I too saw folks having to dig through fanny packs to pull out all of the family's IDs.

That stinks! We never get the kids keys! For early admission we always just needed to show one room key. That's okay we are going to be there over presidents day weekend so I think we are going to avoid EMH all together!

With the huge crowds, it's only fair to verify everyone is staying onsite. If they really wanted to be sticklers, they would ask for photo ID to match (for adults). Otherwise, you could be bringing in people you know who live in the area or are staying offsite.

ITA! When I went to the EMH at Epcot on my January trip (1/19) they did ask to see a photo id!

Everyone in your family will get an ID with their name on it, which is why they want everyone's name when you book your room. Each night we have gone they were being very deligent in requiring everyone including all children to have their ID with them.

You have to get keys for the kids now with the new ticketing system and the bioscanners or they won't get into the parks.

What is the new ticketing system and bioscanners? I have hopper passes and an ap but we don't have our room key as our tickets is this going to be a problem? Or are you just referring to EMH?

When we went this past January I had an AP and my son and GD had the old park hoppers. For EMH we each had to show our room key and my son and I both had to show photo ID, also. Consequently we had our park passes, room keys, and photo ID in our hands all at the same time in order to get the EMH bracelet.

When I went back in May, everyone was having to use the new bioscanners for the MYW tickets to enter the parks. It didn't have anything to do with getting the EMH bracelet as you were already in the park by that time. The bioscanners are just used to get into the park and all you need is your park ticket (unless they have trouble getting your ticket to match your fingers, at which point they will ask for a photo ID). To get the EMH bracelet I had to again show room key and photo ID (at least at AK). I also had to show photo ID twice at the entry turnstiles when my AP wouldn't work.

Okay so let me get this straight. Not talking about EMH.... But Ben my 8 year old nephew will be entering on the first day with his hopper pass, which i ordered in advanced. He will have to to the split finger "v" like we do as passholders, then they record that so the next day he goes in with the "V" again. Is this to prevent passing the park hopper on to others? I already feel bad when I have to keep jamming my fingers in the slot for my AP and i'm holding up the line, geeze could they think of more things to hold up the line?

That is exactly how it's done now. Not only with the new tickets, but with old hopper tickets too. Now all tickets need to be signed (even the old ones), and the biometric is used on ALL ticket media. This is their way of making sure no one "shares" a ticket. They also no longer stamp your hand when you leave the park now. They just require you to pop your ticket back in and they can read all of the info off of the ticket on a screen on the turnstile.

Also, correct, now ALL parties staying in your resort will receive their very own resort ID with their name on it--over 3 years old only.

This is Disney's way of attempting to prevent re-sale of park tickets. Probably because there is no way to tell if the tickets you purchase on E-bay are good or not. Everyone gets scanned now.

call me silly - but I was tickled to death in January when I got a room key with MY name on it. (even though we still had active AP's at the time.) All my of my keys in the past have had DH's name on them (he had made the ressies)

it's the little things in life that make me smile.

We will be having a friend stay with us for a few days at AKL (which I hear is $50 extra/night...right?). So, when she checks into our room, they should give her a room key/resort ID for EMH. Do you also need this ID to ride the Disney buses around the property?

If your kids are age 3 and older, and if you're staying onsite, how in the world are you getting them in the parks in the first place??? In May, there's no way they would have let my 5 year old just walk on through the turnstile without putting his keycard through the turnstile machine. But my 2 year old just walked on through or was carried, no questions asked.
