Wow, poor Rhianna!

I feel sorry for Chris Brown because he had to witness his mother being abused. But what he did to Rihanna was horrible. I doubt he will serve any time in jail or prison. But I agree his career is done.

She was beat up by a guy, in the process of being beat up someone else called 911. She is cooperating with the police and their investigation. She sought medical care for her injuries, albiet not that eveining. I'm unclear how you can determine that "nothing in her behaviur says she is done"?

Ya we don't know why she didn't want to call, she may not have wanted these sorts of images ever leaked...she may have been embarrassed...maybe she thought she'd be trouble too. Who knows but it doesn't necessarily mean she is staying with him.

How sad this story is. Yet it is played out day and night around the world in different classes of people.
Sucess gives the illusion of perfection, which is heartbreakingly false for the participants and viewers.

I too thought that they were a great couple. You never saw them out drunk on any of the celebrity gossip blogs.

Yet the very revealing truth is that Chris Brown is a child of abuse who watched his mother beatten by his step father. And now without having sought help, he has done as so many victims do, become the perpurtrater of the same crime he was victim to.

It is a cycle that pays no heed to fame, bank accounts or stature in society.

If two good things come of this... i hope it is that many young girls involved in bad relationships get out, after seeing their role model rhiannon leave her abusive relationship. And two i hope that Chris Brown gets some help, he was one of the good guys, yet caught in a viscious cycle of abuse.

It's sad all the way around.

I'm not understanding the connection of her not calling 911 and not wanting to receive help. She was still in the park where the fight took place. She may have been collecting herself. If you've ever been punched in the face, you know it can make you dizzy (seeing stars). Sounds like she was punched several times, she may have just been trying to calm down or get to a point where she could sit up and call, I'm sure she was in pain and/or shock!

Rihanna's Injuries -- "Horrific"

Law enforcement sources have now gotten specific with us... police took pictures of Rihanna's injuries and they are "horrific."

As we reported, the photos show major contusions on both sides of the singer's face -- there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody. We have now confirmed there are bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers.

And we now know this... Rihanna claims Brown struck her with his fists and that's what did the damage. There was no object used in the alleged attack.

Rihanna refused treatment at the scene, but before she left cops took photos. We're told the photos alone are "devastating proof of abuse."

And we've learned it was not Rihanna who called 911. Someone in the area heard her screams and called.

Being that Rhianna is one of the hottest artists right now, plus Jay Z's protege, I don't think Brown could have blacklisted himself any quicker. He seemed like such a nice guy! The whole situation is just crazy. I sincerely hope she recovers soon. Poor thing.

That's awful!!!! I've always liked them both- but my liking for Chris Brown just took a nosedive! Poor Rhianna!!!

And that's the point I was trying to make. Not only did you not know, but in all probability Rhianna did not know what type of boyfriend Chris would be until she entered into a relationship with him.

Your initial post made it sound like she wanted a guy who would rough her up a bit. Since Chris Brown was not known for that type of behavior prior to this, how could you possibly say she was "looking for" a "bad boy."

there is a considerable difference between asking for something and getting out of the way of something coming. Maybe he was the kindest, gentlest person ever and then suddenly snapped (like a pit bull story) that is one thing. I doubt that is what happened. There were probably signs, but I have no facts.

I can not begin to imagine what could set me off so much as to cause injury to another, short of that person inflicting great pain to family or friends or even a stranger.

Everything is speculation... I would never condone a guy hitting a girl, but, again, gossip and speculation I've heard give him a reason that many at my work have said it makes sense that he snapped - dunno...
'Supposedly' she gave him an STD, which, in their 3 yrs together, shouldn't have ever appeared...

There are 2 sides to every story, and I'm sure I'll get flamed for even bringing up a defense for him... I'm not defending him.... I'm just putting out there the shock that may have put him over the edge...
Of course, as I read here...it was alot more than one punch which is what I initially heard.

and quite possibly the police were called while he was still hitting her so she didn't need to call them. The only reports that I have seen said he wasn't there when police arrived not that he wasn't there when police were called.

Wow, that's a very bold statement from someone who does not know the details When you get beat that badly, you are often not coherent enough to fish around for your cell phone to call 911.

Also, someone called 911 when they heard screaming. Sounds like she was in mid-beating when the other person called 911.

While I see what you are saying, is Chris Brown's reputation for being a bad boy? I don't actually have a clue. What little I have ever seen of him he never really came across that way to me. Now had she been dating someone like 50 Cent, I'd get that bad boy thing right off the bat. NOT that I am suggesting that HE would do something like this, just that he is what I think of when I think of a music bad boy.

Oddly, I know one person who was abused by a boyfriend and he was an Eagle Scout. I'm not sure that abuse has a particular 'type.'

Sadly, HE also has an opportunity to do something good from this, if he is brave enough to get help and stand up as someone who made a HORRIBLE decision. I don't know if he'd actually have the you-know-whats to do it, but someone famous admitting what they did, getting help, taking responsiblity for his actions and using his fame to hopefully encourage others who might make the same bad decisions to seek help BEFORE it happens could be a good thing too.

Either way, I hope this is one relationship that ends and that he faces legal action.

I have a hard time believing this because of the last sentence. I doubt officers would put an injured person in their cruiser instead of waiting for medical personel to show up via ambulance. doesn't ring true for me.
