We're just back from a 3nt stay at the Swan. I never had any desire to stay there (the buildings give me the creeps) but the special Mousesavers rate was too good to pass up. The Swan is awesome! We booked a club level room and ended up in a balcony room to accomodate our late checkout request. The room was beautiful, immaculate, and OMG those heavenly beds are incredible. We've stayed at YC, AKL, GF, and Poly(concierge), and the Swan compares favorably to them all, and IMO surpasses most of them in value. We paid less for our CL room at the Swan than for GV at Poly a few weeks ago. The pool is huge and didn't have that frenzied atmosphere we sometimes feel at the other resorts. The grounds are beautiful and dining options varied and plentiful. We'll definately be staying there again.:D

SSSShhhhhhh not so loud. If others start to try the Swan and Dolphin we may loose the good rates and the awesome service...don't let the secret out ;) :) They are awesome aren't they??? :) :)

Glo - EXACTLY what I was going to say!!!! SSHHHHHHH!!!

SSSSSS!!! do not let the secret out. The rates are gonna go up like Disney resorts (LOL)!

I am also happy you had a great time there. It is really a hidden treasure in the heart of it all.;) ;)

I agree with you!! We just stayed at the Swan for 2 nights a couple of weeks ago ($59/night Priceline rate!), and I'm a convert as well!! I can't wait to stay there again :)

I'm glad to hear all of you were happy with the Swan. We have reservations there next month, as well as at YC. I have to make a decision soon. However, I just saw some pictures of the rooms at the Swan on another thread and I am a little disappointed. They seem quite small in the picture and plain. I'm not sure that room is going to do it for me.

Any thoughts?

Welcome Home BuzzME:wave:

I'm also glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Swan. We are looking forward to our first stay at the Swan this November. How did you find the bus transporation from the Swan? I'd love to hear more details of your room. Did you take any pictures?

We only used the bus for Enight at MK and the bus service was fine. We spent most of the time at Epcot and MGM, so we either walked or took the boat. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, huge TV, internet hookup. It was very calming to walk into the room after a day in the parks. We loved having two sinks- one in the bathroom and another outside. Keep your Mickey soap- I want Swan oatmeal bath bars! I think the highlight of the trip for me was the "Heavenly Bed"-absoultely appropriate name. I hope enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I hope you won't mind a couple more questions.

I noticed in a recent picture of the refurbished Swan rooms, an area beside the closet. It looked like a counter space with cupboards of some sort above and below. Can these be used for additional storage or is something already in there, or are they purely decorative?

Also I read one of your posts stating that because you requested a 4:0pm checkout, they swithched your room but you still had club privledges. How did you like the food offerings? Was the lounge ever crowded? Details please:D

I can't wait to try the "heavenly beds", only problem I may not want to leave them when it's time to go play in the parks;) I know the location can't be beat. We have stayed at the BWI and loved being able to walk to Epcot and MGM, not to mention all the dining options. Thanks again:D

I'm not quite sure about the space next to the closet that you saw in the picture. The closet was divided in half- one section full length, the other had rod above(for shirt lentgh items) and a few shelves below. There was ample dresser drawer space (something that we've often found lacking in the Disney resorts.)
We found the club lounge very comfortable. The only time the lounge was crowded was when we went on Sunday morning at 10am. We usally get a much earlier start and never had a problem finding a seat. The staff(Mama T & Thabo) were terrific-could not do enough for you! The breakfast offerings were quite extensive- breads, muffins, bagels, baked goodies, fresh fruit of all kinds, cereals, yogurt, orange and apple juice, bottled water, teas, cofffee and flavored syrups. Early evening service consisted of a hot item, many varieties of cheese, crackers, fruit, crudites/ dip and delicious, huge cookies, cans of soda and bottled water. Wines and beer were available for a small charge.

This is the picture I am referring too. Was this in your room? Thanks:D

That counter thing was not in our room. We had a corner king, room #627. We got Club privledges with our Starwood points...I never found the club to be crowded at all :) Also, to the person who said that the Swan rooms looked small...ours was significantly bigger than our studio at the BCV!!
